[06:34] lemme look again [06:34] dress rehearsal for the boks later I guess :p [06:35] ya kinda green camo effect [06:36] guess they need all the help they can get [07:06] whew shocking so far [07:12] sounds that way [07:16] well a try just before half-time keeps the hopes alive [07:16] oh my [07:17] oh my? [07:17] they struggle without matfields guidance [07:18] who is captain? [07:18] some oke in funny green camo [07:18] hehe [07:18] >.< [07:19] Tara: Flip I think [07:19] hmmm [07:20] thanks uncle Kilos / Tara [07:20] lol [07:20] she knows more about whats happening than i do [07:21] than us both :) [08:02] bulls musta got some stick half time [08:03] looking slightly better? [08:03] yeah [08:04] oh I see now there was a try [08:04] reading rugby sucks\ [08:04] yeah [08:04] but they seem a bit more organised too [08:05] if we can win this game I will be impressed, they have already won more games this year than I expected to be honest [08:06] they getting thing together. started very bad this year [08:08] a number of our teams got off to bad starts [08:08] which isn't new I guess :/ [08:08] yeah except of course my team [08:08] lol [08:08] I guess [08:09] then again they have lost against the bulls so that doesn't bode well for them [08:09] sob [08:10] ;) [08:12] min time and 2 points behind [08:13] dunno why the scrumm failing [08:14] matfield there in suit and tie [08:15] :( [08:15] guess we loose with 2 points, so close [08:15] and if he is there he could have been playing??!!!?!? [08:16] 1 min left but scrum [08:16] sigh [08:16] poor show [08:21] oh well [08:21] bbl [08:21] k [09:21] hmm... jabber.org be sicker [09:29] Maaz is jabber.org down [09:36] Maaz you here? [09:36] Well duh! [09:36] Maaz is http://www.jabber.org/ down [09:37] hi charl_ [09:37] good morning [09:37] Maaz: coffee on [09:37] * Maaz starts grinding coffee [09:37] hi Kilos [09:37] Maaz coffee please [09:37] Kilos: Done [09:38] jabber broken? [09:38] yeah on my pidgin [09:38] i can access the site from here [09:38] with what link charl_ ? [09:38] the one above [09:39] http://www.jabber.org/ [09:39] i get there but its just a story kinda about jabber [09:39] the site got simplified a lot [09:39] just like swissjabber.ch [09:39] http://www.swissjabber.ch/ [09:39] no login buttons or so on [09:40] no [09:40] jabber servers are known for going down frequently [09:40] i now run my own jabber server - much better [09:40] jabber.ccc.de also goes down frequently [09:41] Coffee's ready for charl_ and Kilos! [09:41] http://web.jabber.ccc.de/ [09:41] Maaz: thanks [09:41] charl_: Sure [09:41] Maaz ty [09:41] You are welcome Kilos [09:42] so how do you rev them to fix it [09:42] it's a free service, afaik not much you can do [09:42] you have a shell account? you can also run your own jabber server if you want [09:42] it's extremely simple [09:43] with the same info? [09:43] like im kilos@jabber.org [09:43] no you will get a new JID (jabber ID) [09:43] because @jabber.org is linked to the server(s) at jabber.org [09:43] so you get kilos@whatever-your-server-is [09:44] no man thats too much. i have gmail accounts [09:44] ah, with gtalk [09:45] as long as that still works it is a good backup [09:45] although afaik google wants to cancel that service [09:46] ya i got 4 gmail accounts i think [09:46] lol [09:46] dunno what to do with everything [09:47] and 1 yahoo and 1 hotmail.com and 1 live.com [09:47] whew [10:16] jabber fixed again [10:16] yay [11:56] good afternoon Kilos [11:57] * JabberwockyA19 is fixed too now [11:59] hi JabberwockyA19 [12:06] haha [14:30] https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/t1.0-9/10245352_10152343328660681_4825273528210417881_n.jpg [14:30] I caight a decent size fishie for once [14:48] lekker [15:04] WHOW! [15:04] no kidding man [15:05] Symmetria: you gonna have a huge party just to eat that thing ? [15:06] charl heh the hotel cooked it up and we ate it with the other guests [15:06] lol [15:06] ;p it was consellation after I totalled my company car yesterday [15:06] totalled? [15:07] oh i had to google it but it seems like totalled can mean you had to write off a car ... [15:07] man that sucks :( [15:07] yah [15:08] heh flipped it [15:08] flipped how the heck did you do that [15:08] i know the roads in nairobi can be bad but ... [15:08] blew a tyre out on a dirt road [15:08] lost control when I did and went into a 2 foot deep ditch [15:08] oh i see... ok [15:08] as the car went into the ditch it flipped [15:08] yeah ok that's understandable [15:08] it can happen [15:08] end of my nice pretty prado :( [15:09] whow it's a 4x4 type thing ? [15:09] googled once again :) [15:09] yeah [15:09] whow that is a big car to flip [15:09] pricey suv [15:09] but i guess it's a little top heavy so it can happen [15:10] you would expect a car like that to be good on such a road [15:10] heh they are but the problem with any 4x4, if you blow a tyre [15:10] the back wheels keep moving and push you into a spin [15:11] spinning out a 4x4 if you have a serious problem on one of the wheels isnt that hard if one of them digs in [15:14] bah [15:14] i get it [19:04] hi superfly Trixar_za and others [19:06] Hey Kilos [19:06] Kilos: What if I make a pre-libusb-1.x version? [19:06] explain please? [19:07] The newer sakis3g uses the usb-modeswitch 2.x and up [19:07] Which uses libusb-1.x and up instead of the old libusb-0.1x [19:08] oh [19:08] You said you can't connect with the current sakis3g, so I'll make one that's before the move to the newer library [19:08] do you know what these modems actually do [19:09] like this dlink doesnt seem to trigger modeswitch [19:09] but sometimes pluggin in a second modem at the same time triggers modeswitch then nm sees both [19:10] almost as if there is something missing from the modems side [19:11] Try http://trixarian.net/sakis3g-old.gz [19:12] ok will do [19:12] ty [19:12] It's the one compiled with usb-modeswitch 1.2.7 (the last pre-libusb-0.1x version) and the current database [19:13] pre-libusb-1.x* [19:14] Which is why I left compile.old around :P [19:14] ok [19:15] also [19:15] listen nicely now [19:16] i have unity on a 80g drive that sees the modem after whatever i did when i got the thing [19:16] i have kde on this drive [19:16] if i unplug the modem and reboot too kde first it dont see the modem [19:17] I heard you. My guess would be that the dlink doesn't send a proper signal that alerts usb-modeswitch that it needs to be switched. But when you put in the second device, it does send the signal and both get picked up for switching. [19:17] if i boot to the 80g it sees the modem then i can reboot to kde and it sees it [19:18] I'd stick with the bad signal guess [19:19] also if there is a power cut kde dont see it [19:19] what signal is bad [19:19] im trying to work out what signals what [19:20] is it a faulty modem? [19:21] Could be a mix between faulty modem and faulty usb ports [19:21] Maybe even the Linux kernel not picking things up properly [19:21] whew [19:23] If I had more devices to test, I would probably be able to give you a more exact picture, but I only own one 3g modem :P [19:23] The ZTE K3570-Z [19:25] i got a zte mf190 here that works fine on linux but cant install to windows pcs [19:25] something corrupt [19:26] and its read only cellc stuff thats messed up [19:26] but thats the one that helps trigger the dlink so i dont wanna mess with it yet [19:27] In the old days you just had to do lsusb to trigger usb devices again [19:27] But it doesn't work anymore :( [19:28] where can one find info on why they went away from the storage bit to this new cdfs thing [19:28] ive google me sick [19:30] would be better for me if everything was physical stuff i could see, software is beyond my [19:30] like bitcoins [19:30] i cant understand money that is in the air somewhere [19:30] bitcoins are simple - they're a virtual currency that got pushed into being a major currency by the Chinese. [19:32] its the virtual thing thats baffling [19:32] i can install an os in virtualbox here but i can see it using space so its not really virtual [19:32] Most currency is virtual if you think about it [19:34] Virtual just means it doesn't exist physically. Your money doesn't exist until you draw it. Before that it's just transaction in a computer somewhere [19:34] :P [19:34] ya but how do you draw bitcoins [19:34] is there ever anything you can see and hold in your hand [19:35] It's a virtual currency, so you draw it like you would exchange money - in your own currency [19:35] Considering the worth of a single bitcoin on average... that's like 2k rand per bitcoin [19:35] oh [19:36] im too old or stupid for all this modern stuff [19:36] No, I'm wrong. It's closer to 5k [19:37] like a virtual hamburger wont fill my tummy [19:38] Think of it like a real currency. You can draw real money off it [19:38] It's just virtual because you won't get a bitcoin coin or bill [19:38] http://preev.com/btc/zar [19:39] big bucks for something thats not real [19:39] Yeah - the Chinese keep pushing it over 500 usd [20:11] ty Trixar_za i will let you know once ive tried out this other sakis [20:11] sleep tight all. see ya morrow sometime
