[10:25] davmor2, I finally found a good test case for all the UEFI bugs that are reported [10:25] jibel: excellent what is it? [10:26] davmor2, EFI is smart, if you boot with a 32bit media, it will boot in legacy mode and install the OS without an EFI partition [10:26] davmor2, then if you boot with a 64bit media, it will boot in EFI mode [10:27] davmor2, if you then choose a side by side installation, EFI partition will not be created and grub crashes. [10:28] jibel> davmor2, then if you boot with a 64bit media, it will boot in EFI mode [10:28] that's as far as I got [10:28] davmor2, if you then choose a side by side installation, EFI partition will not be created and grub crashes. [10:28] that'll be the case whatever OS is pre-installed. I think it will affect quite a bunch of people [10:29] jibel: Meh that can't be good [10:31] davmor2, I am now on upgrade tests, trying to upgrade Precise + all the packages in main to Trusty [10:32] jibel: Yeah I'll make a start in a second on uefi 64 and mac [12:18] jibel: FYI, armhf/ppc64el adt jobs have live output now === _salem is now known as salem_ [13:13] jibel: I'm hitting i386 netboot mini iso, amd64+ mac and amd64 uefi at the minute [13:30] 243 packages are going to be removed. 1254 new packages are going to be installed. 6672 packages are going to be upgraded. [13:30] this is an upgrade :) [13:30] jibel: saucy to trusty? [13:30] or a daily one :)? [13:30] asac, from Precise [13:31] download 1h30, installation approximately 8h [13:31] jibel: oh, LTS to LTS. good one [13:31] jibel: not on SSD? [13:32] asac, sadly not [13:32] jibel: on the tracker are we testing against daily or should there be a Release Candidate there? [13:32] davmor2, against daily [13:33] jibel: no worries [13:33] netboot is chugging along nicely [13:41] jibel: could of found issue 1 from the install on the live session. I think the keyboard layout defaults to the one on the live cd rather than detecting one from the installer I'll double check that from amd64 though [13:42] davmor2, I've seen several reports about it, but never on Ubuntu. It'd be nice if you have a test case [13:42] davmor2, with en_gb? [13:43] I never reproduced with french [13:46] jibel: so live session is set to en_us so when I set timezone to London UK the keyboard displayed US(English) US(English default layout) rather than UK . It could be that the mac actually has a US keyboard though hence saying I'll double check it on my normal laptop first [13:49] xnox: why is the installer slide show reduced in size on the live desktop session? [13:49] xnox: means it has scroll bars [13:49] xnox: big ugly scrollbars [13:49] davmor2: can you take a screenshot / picture? [13:50] typically there are a few reasons why that happens: we loose overlay-scrollbars everywhere, or slides change, or webkit changes, or we have a theming bug. [13:53] xnox: http://davmor2.co.uk/~davmor2/screenshots-desktop/ 2 images for you [13:54] jibel: okay so on the laptop everything is correct so it might just be a MAC keyboard layout that is making it think it is US [13:56] davmor2: thanks a lot. Will look into it, after syncing in latest images. [13:57] xnox: I have a better one about to upload from my 1080p laptop doing the same thing It'll be the same link I'll ping you after they upload though [14:00] xnox: there now http://davmor2.co.uk/~davmor2/screenshots-desktop/ [14:02] xnox: that's beeter right :) [14:02] better even [14:44] jibel: netboot i386 is good I haven't done the local pxe boot though as I don't have one setup [14:46] jibel: moving onto netboot amd64 [14:53] jibel: wow, libreoffice autopkgtest succeeds again! [14:54] pitti, Right, but I didnt look if the tests really ran :) [14:55] eg set +e; ; exit 0 [14:59] xnox: pressie https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1304476 [14:59] Ubuntu bug 1304476 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "When installing from the live sessions slide window is too small" [Medium,New] [15:02] xnox: also on the installer (amd64+MAC) the chipset for the wifi is broadcom so I get no wifi. Selecting 3rd party drivers on the 3rd screen should that not install the wifi driver and then the select a wifi ap page appear or has that changed now? [15:03] davmor2: i don't work on the driver.... but i recall something about broadcom disabled. you can test on the command-line using $ ubuntu-drivers, see --help for available options. [15:04] e.g. "devices" and "autoinstall" [15:06] xnox: ah scrap that the driver is indeed installed it just isn't throwing up the Wifi connection page after it has been installed === roadmr is now known as roadmr_afk === bfiller is now known as bfiller_afk === WebbyIT is now known as rpadovani === roadmr_afk is now known as roadmr === bfiller_afk is now known as bfiller === salem_ is now known as _salem === chihchun is now known as chihchun_afk === chihchun_afk is now known as chihchun === bfiller is now known as bfiller_afk === chihchun is now known as chihchun_afk
