[05:44] hi oom Kilos [05:44] oom moet 'n lekker dag hê :-> [05:44] lo nuvolari en ander [05:44] jy ook dankie [05:54] morning all [05:54] hi jabberwocky93 Spekko [05:57] morning Kilos [06:27] http://mybroadband.co.za/news/security/100056-most-malware-ridden-hosts-in-south-africa.html [06:29] looks like there is malware everywhere [06:29] thank heavens for linux [06:30] hi ThatGraemeGuy [06:30] you with hetzner hey [06:54] mornings [06:54] yes [06:55] looks like malware is in everywhere [07:01] morning all [07:01] hi superfly === Rynofear is now known as Rynomser === Rynomser is now known as Rynomster [07:49] Fetched 145 MB in 3min 3s (792 kB/s) [07:49] one can live with this speed [07:52] hi Kilos [07:53] hi Rynomster [07:53] hi psyatw [07:53] wow, that's pretty fast [07:53] for dial-up, I mean [07:53] yeah its great for mobile [07:54] hehe when i started i was happy with 10kB/s [07:54] old gprs speed [07:54] yeah [08:18] hi Vince-0 [08:20] hi psyatw [08:20] hi Kilos [08:20] oop [08:20] s [08:20] hi Vince-0 [08:20] hi Kilos [08:20] hi Vince-0 [08:31] hi Rynomster you been quiet hey [08:31] good morning [08:31] Maaz: coffee on [08:31] * Maaz starts grinding coffee [08:32] hi charl_ [08:32] hi Kilos [08:32] Maaz, coffee please [08:32] Kilos: Alrighty [08:32] how's it going [08:32] Maaz: large [08:32] In a beer mug just for you charl_ [08:32] good ty and you? [08:32] now we're talking [08:32] good morning charl_ [08:32] hey psyatw ! [08:32] how's it going [08:33] I'm doing well, got a bit busy again [08:33] how are you dong? [08:33] lol im very quiet :P I forget to connect to my quassel core sometimes [08:33] i'm doing great [08:33] hi Rynomster [08:33] I have a week ful of training ahead [08:33] hi charl_ [08:33] full* [08:33] psyatw: whow ! new job going well then? [08:34] charl_, we haven't actually worked yet, it's been mostly training until now. but I'm not complaining :) [08:34] lol [08:34] that's nice ! [08:34] haai [08:34] Rynomster, you need to tie a knot is something so you dont forget us [08:34] hi Vince-0 [08:34] hello [08:34] I installed the latest jdk, netbeans and mingw on my windows laptop [08:35] netbeans :( [08:35] people still use that? [08:35] whenever they don't ask us to do some windows stuff I can code [08:35] hmm [08:35] I haven't tried eclipse yet [08:35] but on linux it used to crash all the time [08:35] that probably has not changed much :) [08:35] :) [08:35] i had the misfortune of having to work with spring tool suite recently [08:35] that is based off eclipse [08:35] Coffee's ready for charl_ and Kilos! [08:36] a lightweight IDE on windows would be nice, but I don't know any [08:36] i have to keep rebuilding workspaces and i get the weirdest behaviour [08:36] Maaz, gracias [08:36] Kilos: ¡de nada! [08:36] and I prefer not to use ms tools [08:36] and all these context menus that keep popping up drive me insane [08:36] yeah [08:36] jdeveloper is actually more solid but it's terribly bloated [08:36] and it can also crash on you at random intervals [08:36] and needless to say it's very user unfriendly [08:37] i now use vim for literally all my development, including java [08:37] and then i use maven to build [08:38] i needed to put a bunch of settings into my .vimrc to make it work really nicely though, and i still haven't figured out everything [08:38] yeah [08:38] the biggest issue i have left is doing code quality stuff like removing unused imports, variables etc [08:38] but it's so much simpler and more lightweight [08:38] i need to find some way of doing code quality control [08:39] are there no tools for that? [08:39] you okes chat so fast my poor 14.04 is about 10 lines behind with popup notifications [08:39] just go ide nada [08:39] got [08:40] psyatw: there are a lot of tools available but i still need to figure out which ones to use [08:40] psyatw: i'll tell you when i have it figured out [08:40] charl_, that would be nice, I don't like these IDEs either but on Windows the whole environment is even more challenged as you know [08:41] even cmd.exe is a big pile of crap that I try not to touch [08:41] the one we use at work is an older version of this: http://www.sonarqube.org/ [08:42] afaik that still sets the standards [08:42] that looks very nice indeed [08:43] you can combine it with a tool like http://jenkins-ci.org/ to automatically do analysis [08:43] and it's very detailed [08:46] yeah [08:46] here's my current ~/.vimrc http://paste.ubuntu.com/7229875/ [08:48] thanks [08:48] i'm not too happy with hlsearch but the rest seems to work pretty well [08:49] ok i'm off to get some actual work done :) [08:49] ttyl [08:49] ttyl [08:49] :) [08:58] hey all [08:58] Trixar_za: how's it going? [08:58] hi Squirm [08:58] heya Kilos [08:59] hi Squirm [09:59] Oh hey Squirm [11:54] hi Golynx how's the neck [12:04] hi Kilos, its kinda worse [12:04] ai! [12:05] stiff and hard on the right side [12:05] back [12:05] hi Golynx, what happened to the neck ? [12:05] but i will wait it out [12:06] gently massage the bad side [12:06] hi charl_ , something in my neck snapped while i was sleeping 2 nights ago [12:07] Kilos: i cant touch the source of the pain its intense [12:07] whow ! [12:07] look after yourself :( [12:07] ai! [12:07] you got ice packs in the freezer? [12:08] thanks charl_ , if it gets worse i go see the doctor :) [12:08] tried that Kilos , doesn't help though, not even pain pills [12:08] good idea [12:08] no often someone breaks his own neck [12:09] i think you should go NOW [12:09] if it's that bad ... [12:10] charl_ i usually go see the doc when i cant take it anymore. Still hoping it will heal somehow [12:11] this has happened before? [12:12] Kilos: nope, but its deffo bad posture that caused it [12:13] how can you undislocate a neck ? lol [12:13] let someone lift you by the chin and back of head [12:13] or do it yourself [12:15] yor! thats extremely risky. Its like one wrong move and Snap! dead :P [12:15] no man [12:16] dont twist just lift [12:16] actually go to the doc then tell us what he did [12:17] i will , if it gets too much for me to handle , thanks [12:29] found a lekker command [12:29] gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Lenses disabled-scopes "['more_suggestions-amazon.scope', 'more_suggestions-u1ms.scope', 'more_suggestions-populartracks.scope', 'music-musicstore.scope', 'more_suggestions-ebay.scope', 'more_suggestions-ubuntushop.scope', 'more_suggestions-skimlinks.scope']" [12:30] goodbye amazon [12:59] I want [12:59] the sleep [12:59] 1 more day to go.. [13:43] oh hi Squirm [13:43] what wheels you getting? [13:45] nuvolari: a little Ford Fiesta 1.6 [13:45] 2007 model [13:45] it's going to kick ass [14:15] awesome! [14:15] congrats Squirm! [14:25] * jabberwocky93 needs a new ride [14:27] actually I just need to fix my current one! but I wont complain if I can get a new set of wheels :P [15:18] bye [15:18] * jabberwocky93 vrooooooom [15:18] toods [15:18] hehe [15:18] : [15:18] :) [15:18] bits and pieces [15:58] wbb. gonna see if i can trace sound in xchat [16:51] hi psydroid [16:51] you okes and your mobile devices [16:52] hi Kilos [16:52] haha [16:52] yeah [17:06] hi psydroid [17:08] hi Golynx [17:10] seems like mobile devices are becoming like pc's in the hardware too . www.cnet.com/news/google-launches-first-project-ara-module-developers-kit/ [17:11] if you want a bigger camera just put in a bigger camera blok lol http://www.cnet.com/news/google-launches-first-project-ara-module-developers-kit/ [17:12] ah, interesting [17:13] i dont see a point though to building your own phone from "bloks" held together by electromagnets [17:18] maybe they should be more modular, though [17:19] but I am wondering if there is a point anyway [17:26] with such extreme customization in the hardware, but almost none in the Android OS :D [17:32] Kilos: i found that there is a name for my neck problem , its called torticollis or "twisted neck", is a painful disorder of the muscle in the neck where the head is tilted to one side. [17:33] caused by? [17:34] sleeping while the window open , sleeping in an awkward position, history of an unusual activity the day before. I read somewhere [17:35] whew [17:37] but i know its the awkward sleeping position. The muscle the holds a neck disc in place is contorted. No known cure though. [17:37] that too [17:38] guess we cant even trust our own bodies while we're sleeping lol [17:38] yeah looks like [17:39] exrcise helps normally [17:39] exercise [17:40] thats true, but usually gets worse when you exercise the wrong way. [17:40] yeah well dont do push ups with your head [17:41] thats why physiotherapists types of people exists, to not let us do further damage i guess [17:41] lol [17:42] i made my own neck brace thing , so not to use the neck muscles so much [17:43] yeah but once healed start exercising to strengthen neck muscles [17:45] i read somewhere it goes away in 7 days, but dunno for sure [17:45] i will do so :) [17:58] im gonna try have an early night [17:59] sleep tight everyone. see ya all tomorrow [17:59] Maaz, watch them [17:59] OK Kilos I'll keep an eye on them for you [17:59] take care Kilos [17:59] sleep well [17:59] ty you too lad
