=== vladk is now known as vladk|offline === vladk|offline is now known as vladk [20:59] morning all [21:00] morning [21:00] morning thumper [21:01] alexisb, morning. Our meeting is tomorrow morning, not today right? i.e. in about 24hrs [21:01] * thumper trawls through the 100 odd emails [21:03] does anyone use GDB for debugging Go? [21:10] waigani: I can't remember if I tried and failed, or didn't get around to trying [21:10] but no, not right now I don't [21:12] thumper: there is a nice looking GoGDB plugin for sublime. But yeah, I can't get it working out of the box. So just wondering if it is worth the effort. [21:13] chucking in copious amounts of debug logging does the trick for now ;) [21:21] thumper: make check --compiler=gccgo on my local machine throws a bunch of linker errors. I've tried removing pkg. Any hints? [21:22] waigani: likely to be an old local gccgo [21:22] ah okay [21:30] fwereade: I have my physio appt in 10 minutes [21:30] fwereade: chat later I guess. === vladk is now known as vladk|offline [21:42] thumper: I've hit a bit of road block. Running tests on vm I get: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/7246968. Running locally I get linker errors (gccgo upgrade didn't help). [22:21] * thumper is back [22:21] waigani: looking [22:22] waigani: which tests are causing that error? [22:22] thumper: good question, came up during make check. I'm guessing something in cmd/juju [22:23] also, would help to have more context in the pastes :-) [22:24] looks like a gccgo compiler bug [22:24] as the code compiles fine with cgo [22:24] but that isn't particularly helpful [22:24] I know [22:26] thumper: I'm not sure what more context to give. Error occurs during make check, everything passes up to that error. Line before is"ok launchpad.net/juju-core/cmd/envcmd 0.330s" [22:26] even that context helps [22:26] I'll to an apt-get update on the vm [22:26] waigani: just that the pastebin didn't say anything about which package was having errors [22:27] thumper: right, I should have put in that I don't know which package is throwing the error. Just ran tests in cmd/juju - all pass. [22:27] hmm.. [22:28] in the vm? [22:28] yep [22:30] apt-get update; make check in vm .... [22:40] same error, sigh [22:41] thumper: I logged this https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju-core/+bug/1307241 [22:41] <_mup_> Bug #1307241: Tests are not isolated from jujud [22:41] should I focus on that and then see if dave has hints regarding the vm when he is on? [22:41] thumper: ^ [22:42] waigani: yeah [22:58] waigani: this is on ppc? want me to try on arm64? [22:59] mwhudson: yep, I'm on ppc. Sure, it would be interesting to see. [23:00] waigani: what version of juju, what command line? [23:01] mwhudson: juju version [23:01] 1.19.0-trusty-ppc64 [23:01] waigani: how do i get that? bzr or apt-get source? [23:02] mwhudson: bzr, I just pulled the latest trunk and ran make check [23:02] okidoke [23:02] mwhudson: thanks [23:03] go get-ing... [23:03] i guess i need to run godeps after this? [23:04] oh maybe make check handles that for me [23:04] * mwhudson doesn't know what he's doing [23:05] mwhudson: yeah, go get [23:05] mwhudson: and, yes you will most likely need to go get launchpad.net/godeps, and run godeps -u requirements.tsv from the root of juju-core [23:05] * thumper goes to make a coffee to stay awake [23:06] exec: "hg": executable file not found in $PATH [23:06] i guess i need to fix that too :-) [23:10] mwhudson: https://docs.google.com/a/canonical.com/document/d/1m9R2n6LPLNLGjdopcNkQYVG8D5V4FTyvc1vvn-9ZifM/edit#heading=h.cbgzlmojri6s [23:11] they are the setup notes for ppc, might be helpful? [23:18] yeah, probably [23:46] WT actual F [23:46] os.RemoveAll is giving an error [23:46] the error makes no sense [23:46] and the RemoveAll worked [23:47] good morning [23:47] today is bought to you by the letters [23:48] ./configure [23:53] davecheney: I've just sent an email to juju-dev that I'd appreciate your thougts on [23:53] thoughts even [23:53] * thumper reads a typo at the start of the email [23:53] * thumper sighs [23:53] I blame tiredness [23:57] thumper: ok [23:58] * davecheney things [23:58] * davecheney thinks
