[02:20] nescius: I was just reading up on that, it seems there is a specification that it should use both profiles at once [02:20] https://developer.bluetooth.org/TechnologyOverview/Pages/Multi-Profile.aspx [02:21] interesting, but wouldn't it require 'two devices' [02:21] granted I was just googling and found that, so IDK if it's a spec I need to look for on the device or if it's just in bluetooth X.X [02:21] nescius: doesn't sound like it, multiple profiles, single device [02:22] I think it's basically switching between the profiles really fast [02:23] tgm4883: i would not expect much as the paper is from 2013.. You can search https://help.ubuntu.com/ http://www.ubuntuforums.org/ or http://www.kubuntuforums.net/ while you wait. [11:51] stokp2, I had a similar experience with kubuntu 12.04, so I used the text installer which is similar to the minimal version. [11:51] !minimal | stokp2 [11:51] stokp2: The Minimal CD image is very small in size, and it downloads most packages from the Internet during installation, allowing you to select only those you want. The installer is text based (rather than graphical as used on the Desktop DVD). See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD [11:51] I don't even get to the scree where I can select either [11:52] this sux [11:52] I did check the md5sum, it was intact [11:53] it's probly a HW recognition problem [11:53] but kubuntu 12.04 worked flawlessly [11:53] different HW [11:54] hmmm... I just booted into 12.04 again and now I see my desktop images have been f'cked with [11:54] that is not supposed to happen when using a live disk [11:54] filed a bug m but it was never solved afaik [11:57] stokp2, all I can suggest is try the minimal and install the kubuntu-desktop [11:59] hmmmmm now I remember, last time I also had to use the text version.... I#ll try that one [11:59] stokp2: does it halt at the grub menu, or when it starts booting the OS? [12:00] that is, can you press a key to change language etc? [12:00] no [12:01] the graphic "kubuntu" screen appears, and then nothing, but on a old box I have I get to a installation process window, but it is empty.... [12:01] where can I find a text install? [12:02] doesn't seem to be there.... there used to be an "alternate!" install [12:03] well... on the other box the install stalled too [12:03] can anyone recommend any good stress testing apps for webservers - preferably one that produces graphs? [12:04] it's called minimal stokp2 , already posted the link above [12:04] tried to look at jenkins/gatling but that seems insanely complicated ? [12:05] stokp2, read wht we're postinfg [12:05] ok [12:06] but the minimal install is not a real alternative.. I don't want to select hundreds of packages... Also I'd like to have regular user accounts on this system. The 'startup disk creator' and UInetbootin seem to only want to install a 'live' installer CD that prompts if you want to install or 'try' kubuntu to the PC and do not seem to be persistent (at least not [12:44] for software installs). What is a better way of doing this? [12:46] mariusK: I'd say debootstrap. [12:47] hmm, 8G isn't a lot of room for a whole install [12:47] lordievader: will that work (seeing that all USB installers out there seem to depend on fat32, i'm assuming that a USB cannot boot a non-fat32 system) [12:48] !persistent [12:48] For information about installing Ubuntu from USB flash drives, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick - For a persistent live USB install, see: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LiveUsbPendrivePersistent [12:48] mariusK: ^^ [12:51] mariusK: Yes, you build it on a fat32 filesystem.
