suudyI'm working on porting plymouth to a customized ubuntu distro (based on 12.04).  I'm having trouble getting the Image.Text() to render while in the initramfs.  It works fine when plymouth is used after the switch to the rootfs.22:05
suudyAlso, the '--debug --debug-file=<path to file>' doesn't seem to produce anything in the initramfs.22:06
suudyI asked on #ubuntu, but was directed here.22:06
xnoxsuudy: do you have needed fonts in the initramfs?22:21
xnoxsuudy: on ubuntu, ubuntu-logo theme does work from initramfs and can render Image.Text(), compare your initramfs with the one produced in stock ubuntu (when plymouth has been added into the initramfs) and check what's different / missing.22:21
suudyI have the same packages installed in both the initramfs and rootfs.  But I'll double check the fonts.22:21
suudyBut I can't figure out why debug and debug-file aren't doing anything in the initramfs.22:21

suudyxnox: I figured it out.  I had to hack the source to get plymouth to log in the initramfs, but I narrowed it down to find out that libgobject wasn't found.23:00
