OvenWerkszequence_: looking into /etc/xdg/autostart/ for maybe starting jackd at session start and I notice that most of the autostarts are in the directory already listed.05:01
OvenWerksbut there is one file in /etc/xdg/xdg-ubuntustudio/autostart/05:01
OvenWerksxfce4-tips-autostart.desktop05:02
OvenWerksIs there a reason this is not with the others? does it actually do something unique to studio?05:03
OvenWerksI am thinking it could be moved in with the rest for easier maint.05:04
OvenWerksIt looks like it is a remnant from basing studio on xubuntu in 11.1005:05
OvenWerksgood night05:05
zequence_OvenWerks: Yes, it must have been there since the start.06:02
zequence_OvenWerks: I don't think autostarting jack should be done in a permanent fashion. It needs to be settable. -controls would have a autostart script, which would read through the user settings file to look for certain things, like: 1. is -controls set to autostart? 2. is jack set to autostart?, etc..06:04
ttoinezequence_, hello12:34
ttoineare you hre ?12:34
ttoinehere12:34
zequence_ttoine: Hi12:47
=== zequence_ is now known as zequence
zequencettoine: I'll be away for a moment, but I'm logging, so I can read later.12:56
ttoinezequence, ok13:10
zequencettoine: I'm back13:20
ttoinezequence, great13:27
ttoinejust a word about the footer of the ubuntustudio.org13:27
ttoineI get another inquiry of Canonical legal staff: they would like us to add the same modification that I add to do for the merchandise13:28
ttoineit means telling that we are not affiliated with Canoncial13:28
ttoineI think they are gonna unsupport us in a very few time13:28
zequencettoine: You mean, for the website, or just for the merchandise page?13:30
ttoinefor the merchandise I already did it, both at the bottom the merchandise page of ubuntustudio.org, and the spreadshirt shop13:31
ttoinehowever they want us to edit the footer13:31
ttoineI can't do that with my account...13:31
zequencettoine: Ah, that needs to be done for the wp theme13:32
ttoineyes, sure13:33
zequencettoine: Let me do that tomorrow. We can't upload changes ourselves. Done by Canonical sysadmins13:33
ttoineok13:33
ttoinethere is no urgency13:33
ttoineyou can use the same modification that I did13:34
cubhi ttoine 14:53
cubI read the logs and you wrote earlier "I think they are gonna unsupport us in a very few time" about the footer and "not affiliated with Canonical"14:53
cubCould you elaborate a bit? You think Canonical will stop providing like web hosting or you think Ubuntu Studio might be excluded as a official distribution of the Ubuntu family?14:54
ttoinecub hi14:55
ttoineI think, yes14:55
ttoinebecause for a few weeks, they are asking me to mark more on our websites that we are not affiliated with Ubuntu and Canonical14:56
cubyes on both questions or? :D14:56
cubaha even with Ubuntu?14:56
ttoinewe might be excluded of the official distribution14:56
ttoinefor the rest, I don"t know14:56
ttoineor maybe this is just a new legal guy at Canonical that wants to make stuff clear14:56
ttoinestrange14:56
elfy‎I would have thought that they'd need to talk to 'you' before they did that14:57
cubbecause the footer on spreadshirt only say Canonical14:57
elfyand I would double check with this legal - wouldn't be the first hiccup from someone new in 'legal'14:57
cubOtherwise I would reach out to Jono quick before he leaves. :P14:59
cubI understand if they want to say Ubuntu Studio is not affiliated with Canonical, that makes sense. But not affiliated with Ubuntu, that would propose some questions15:00
zequenceI don't believe for a second they would stop letting us be an official distro15:01
zequenceMakes sense that they want to make clear that we are not affiliated with Canonical15:02
zequenceWe should probably make that even clearer in our info pages15:02
elfyzequence: I'd agree - I'm sure this is a hiccup in legal - I would really get some clarification on this15:02
elfy^^ said with my other hat on15:02
zequenceelfy: I added you to the ubuntustudio-release team just now15:03
elfyaah okey doke - I'll see if I can poke about in the innards of the trackers then15:03
zequenceTime for a beer in the sun with my lady :)15:04
cubnice15:04
cubsummer in Gothenburg as well?15:04
zequenceyep15:04
cubStockholm too, but I'm stuck inside the office. :P15:05
zequenceActually, I need to wait another hour :(15:05
cubGotta go back to the work stuff. :/15:07
elfyzequence: don't drink too much alone :p15:07
elfyttoine: not sure if you read my comment above about double checking what they're after you doing and why15:07
zequenceelfy: It's too for that. But, I might go a little realier15:18
zequenceearlier*15:18
elfyI guessed :)15:19
ttoinehum15:19
zequenceI meant to say too hot.15:20
ttoinezequence, kubuntu developers are not anymore supported by Canonical15:20
ttoineand if you look at their website, they are highlighting Server and Cloud edition15:20
ttoineDesktop edition come third15:20
zequenceThat doesn't mean they are shutting down the whole community15:21
elfykubuntu is a different situation 15:22
zequenceI suppose Kubuntu has another history, back in the time when Gnome and KDE were the main competitors. Canonical maintained Gnome, while Kubuntu maintained KDE.15:23
zequenceWith Unity, things have changed. And Canonical is also relying less on the community.15:24
zequenceWell, at least not in the same old way15:24
ttoinewait and see16:08
OvenWerksAny idea why our "make Startup Disk" App won't see mini.iso?21:17
zequenceOvenWerks: No idea. If you like, use dd: dd if=/path/to/iso of=/dev/sd*22:24
zequencereplace 22:24
zequencereplace  * with a letter, but not with the additional partition number22:25
zequenceIt will wipe the whole usb device, but the ISO will only take the amount of space in one partition as it is big22:25
zequenceSo, you end up with some additional space22:25
zequencefree space, that is22:25
