[00:50] so i have a liveusb with persistent storage but i dont really understand it [00:51] /cow is my persistent storage? it doesnt seem to free up when i delete stuff [00:51] df says 80% used before i deleted 500mb, still says 80% after i deleted [03:08] Aucdrone: i just do normal installs.. they are persistent [03:16] Aucdrone: is it still in trash in pcmanfm? [03:40] ianorlin: nope [05:48] holstein: i had to boot into lubuntu to install it and i didnt have anything to boot from so i made a liveusb w/ persistence from windows [05:48] since i only had the 1 usb drive [06:30] Hello, i can't watch youtube videos on firefox, however, i can using another browser.I'm using lubuntu 14.04 [06:30] FakeBooost: what other browser? Chrome? [06:30] chromium [06:31] chrome has flash built in [06:31] firefox doesnt [06:31] ok, how do i do to enable videos on firefox [06:31] so you gotta install flash [06:31] i installed restricted extras [06:31] it's supposed to have flash in it. [06:31] well it doesnt so go install it lol [06:32] i guess [06:32] i had to install it to make ff work. [06:32] google specifically how to install flash lubuntu 14.04 because some of the methods dont work [06:32] ok [06:44] Can't find a correct method to make flash work. [08:14] How long is the install supposed to hang on "Preparing to install Lubuntu" where you choose to download updates and restricted software? [08:14] I thought it was the broken disc drive last time but I booted from USB now [08:15] It froze for even longer on the partitioning screen and actually made me press continue again [08:18] old laptops <3 [08:55] Hi [08:56] I've purchased a Rii mini i8 bluetooth keyboard [08:56] How can i enable the keyboard in lubuntu? [08:56] Any ideas? [08:56] I've paired it [09:58] Hello, i have a question regarding running shell scripts from the gui in Lubuntu. [09:58] I have a shell script called s.sh in my home folder simply "echo"-ing the string "hi!" to the terminal. [09:58] I have done chmod +x on it, and it runs if i type in: ./s.sh from the terminal in the current directory. [09:59] However, it does not run if i double-click on the file and chose the option "Execute in Terminal" [09:59] Doing this only opens up an empty terminal window. [09:59] My version of Lubuntu is 14.04 Thanks in advance to anyone who knows how to solve this. [10:24] One solution: Put a "sleep " line on the end of the file and open the shell script with UXterm rather than the default LXterm. [10:24] UXterm does execute the commands in contrast to LXterm, but it closes itself after execution. [11:51] if i delete stuff [11:51] and it doesnt show up in the trash can [11:51] where does it go? [11:53] it might be removed completely [11:54] cause when i delete stuff from the file manager it doesnt go to trash and my disk space is still used [11:54] you can check ~/.local/trash if you are unsure but thats basically what the trashcan also shows [11:54] but if i rm from terminal the space is freed [11:54] its probably relevant that im on a liveusb with persistence [11:54] Correct path is ~/.local/share/Trash [11:55] 'no such file or directory' [11:57] strange [11:59] Okay! [11:59] i found it! [11:59] /.Trash-999/files [11:59] everything is there [11:59] but that doesnt show up in pcmanfm so that is a bug. [12:00] just shows my trash as empty [12:02] Aucdrone: yeah because pcmanfm should use ~/.local/share/Trash [15:57] Hello guys. I hope you don't mind me asking some help with dual booting, specifically making windows 8 boot after I've installed lubuntu 14.04. I'm sorry if this is not how these things are done, first time here. === sign is now known as hexagon === hexagon is now known as sign [19:00] Hey, i am having problems to watch a movie in streamcloud... i can watch youtube though xd [19:01] maybe i should try to install another web nagivator like firefox?
