_genuser_hey folks.01:56
_genuser_anybody using tor on xubuntu?01:57
cubed_root_genuser_: i haven't, but i've used it on windows and mac02:03
cubed_rootwell, maybe i have -- i tried the tails distro the other day, and i think that uses tor by default?02:04
cubed_rootanyone know if there's a way to avoid windows from opening in front of the window/app that has focus when you've restarted a saved session?02:06
xubuntu313I may be in the wrong place for this but I've been having a frustrating issue with xubuntu 14.0402:19
xubuntu313I have an external VGA monitor (32" Sharp TV) that worked with windows installed on my Dell D600 but now ith Xubuntu I cannot get it to display anything but a black screen02:19
xubuntu313I have tried every resolution and refresh rate with no luck02:20

mappsdid it work before upgrading to 14.04?02:22
xubuntu313no, never worked with any ubuntu02:22

xubuntu313I have a fresh install of 14.04 that is up to date, I have tried fresh installs of everything from 11.04 on with no luck02:23

xubuntu313I have used xrandr --verbose in the terminal and it recognizes the monitor, just no actual output02:24
limpchi!02:25
limpci just did a fresh reinstall of xubuntu a few days ago and have been having a major problem with it since.  whenever it locks the screen,  and I want to return to my desktop, I get the password dialog immediately, but after entering my password and the lock screen disappears, the entire desktop acts frozen for a very long time (sometimes up to several minutes)02:25
limpcits like, a black screen but you can see the panels just no content in them (they dont paint for a very long time).02:26
_genuser_cubed_root: sorry looked away. using tor bundle from their own website.03:32
_genuser_it's a bit slow. but the vmware itself is super slow. I need to turn on virtualization in the bios on this amd.03:32
_genuser_why would you ever turn it off, AMD?03:32
paulmadoreHi quick (seemingly stupid) question... I am using an old Lenovo box with an INtel processor; it's 3Ghz and when I run cat /proc/cpuinfo i get clflush size: 64.. am i to use the "amd64" torrent to reinstall or should i stay with 32bit as I did the first time, not wanting to risk it for lack of knowledge? the download of amd64 just finished.03:49
paulmadore(thanks in advance)03:49
paulmadorei also wanted to know if xubuntu will necessarily be the best to try LXQt on or if there is another distro I should try it with instead? basically i've reached my toleration with the dependency conflicts i've created recently and i'm reinstalling no matter what; i love xubuntu and i'm only looking to give LXQt a quick try.03:50
paulmadoreoh come on now05:02
paulmadoreyou guys cna't see this is the problem with us?05:02
paulmadoreokay, i'm just going with 32 bit again. for now.05:03
