jibelplars-away, I confirm that the desktop ISO looks a bit broken. No nice boot screen, no ubiquity-dm and ubiquity hangs on start. I'll search useful information and report a bug08:01
pittijibel: thanks! running tests with that08:02

jibelpitti, thanks. I'll continue the work on the ssh driver after I debugged desktop images08:33

balloonsbrendand, hey, I answered the track question last night but you missed it again I think. propose it wherever you think is best14:34
brendandballoons, no i got your answer14:34
cgoldbergballoons, hey..  how long is each session in UOS?14:51
balloonscgoldberg, an hour.. but you can have it be shorter14:52
balloonsjust not longer :-)14:52
balloonsbrendand, ahh ok.. so something else then or ?14:52
brendandballoons, i was going to ask if there's a template for presentations. but i guess we don't really need one14:52
balloonsbrendand, not really. You'll be in a hangout and can go wild :-)14:53
brendandballoons, i will!14:54
cgoldbergballoons, i think I'd like to do one .. are there still slots open?14:54
cgoldbergballoons, not sure on topic.. though I can tackle one of the ideas from your email.  got any other suggestions or really hot python-ish topics I should consider?14:56
balloonscgoldberg, yes slots are still open for sure14:56
balloonscgoldberg, you can tackle any subject you wish.. outside of QA as well..14:56
balloonsmy list of ideas was just that. On python, there's plenty of things you could talk about..14:57
balloonshmm14:57
cgoldbergballoons, perhaps an overview of testtools and subunit?   ... since we make heavy use of them all over QA (inside Autopilot for example)14:57
balloonsthe UITK helper, or autopilot helpers in general14:57
balloonsdelayed assertions, testtools, subunit.. all good stuff14:57
balloonscgoldberg, http://uds.ubuntu.com/getinvolved/propose-a-session/14:59
balloonscgoldberg, for you it would be a discussion session15:00
balloonsbrendand, you are approved. cgoldberg or brendand if you want a specific date/time slot speak up and I'll put the session there for you15:01
elfygood job I deferred ... no way I could talk for 60 minutes about manual testcases lol15:01
cgoldbergballoons, ok cool.  i need a day to figure out topic, and see if I can put together some materials.. i can propose a topic tomorrow15:01
balloonselfy, as long as it's not over an hour is all15:01
balloonslol15:01
balloonscgoldberg, wonderful thanks!15:02
cgoldbergelfy, i hear ya.. i'm usually good for a lightning talk, and that's about it :)15:02
elfy:)15:02
elfyI could probably do 52 minutes worth of umming and aahing15:03
* balloons wonders if a lightening talk 'session' would be useful for people15:03
balloonsI could make a session and host it.. and everyone would get 5 mins as usual, without having to do anything15:03
elfyballoons: next time around I'll be happy to do something about manual tests - might be useful to do a session with a bit of each thing in it - say 15/20 minutes15:04
elfyand a wrap up15:04
elfyjust an idea15:04
balloonselfy, a bit of each thing?15:07
elfyautopilot/manual testcases/package tracker/etc15:07
elfythough it depends how much detail people want to get into15:08
elfysounds like cgoldberg and I could be all done in 10 minutes :p15:08
balloonselfy, lol15:10
balloonstime for questions too!15:10
cgoldbergballoons, i like lightning talks idea.  could even do several short topics summarizing python test libraries15:10
elfy a whole session in manual testcases would be a waste of a session15:12
elfyanyway - that'll be next time - if the format is the same then15:13
balloonscgoldberg, you could propose a session that way by yourself.. do 3 or 4 lightening talks15:13
balloonsor ask another person to collab with you on it15:14
cgoldbergballoons, good idea.. i'll see what i can put together, or if I can drag someone in for a duet15:16
balloonscgoldberg, perfect.. drag another person in for the fun ;-)15:19
elfyI'm not draggable this time round - too late in the day for me15:26
elfyrhetorically speaking - most of the sessions are physically too early in the day for me :)15:26
cgoldbergdoanac, fginther..  hi.   have  you worked much with subunit?   i'm currently starting a project working with subunit result streams, and could use someone to ask a few questions to15:46
fginthercgoldberg, I only have experience with extracting the data stream. vila might have some better insight15:46
doanaccgoldberg: not a whole lot. just mostly converting it to junit. thomi and vila are the best people15:47
cgoldbergdoanac, fginther ... i'll ask vila since thomi is out until monday  (he's my usual goto)  .. thanks!15:49
cgoldbergfginther, actually, what i'm working on is extracting the stream  .. so I want to add arbitrary attachments as test details, and extract them from the subunit stream (saved as files) ... I've got it working, but it seems like it was overly complex.  have you done something similar?15:51
fginthercgoldberg, I think doanac created something a while back that did exactly that. I'll see if I can dig it up15:53
doanacfginther: i was lucky and wound up just having to convert subunit to junit using an existing filter15:54
cgoldbergfginther, doanac ... this is what I came up with for a first attempt:  https://gist.github.com/cgoldberg/a5d6ff19dc192217d317#file-subunit_save_details-py  .. it works so far15:56
fginthercgoldberg, I don't have any good advice here. It doesn't look that complex, but perhaps there is a bettery way to do it. sorry I can't help more16:04
cgoldbergfginther, no prob.. im talking to vila.  thanks16:17
