justCarakasdholbach: do you know if there are plans for a screenreader ?08:16
dholbachjustCarakas, I have no idea08:17

JamesTaitGood morning all; happy Friday and happy Dump The Pump Day! :-D08:34
JamesTaitjustCarakas, that's a reall good question.  I have no idea.08:35
JamesTaitHas anyone played with QtSensors on a Nexus 4?  In particular, I wanted to play with TiltSensor, but I can't seem to get any readings from it, although Accelerometer seems to work.08:42
justCarakasJamesTait: I haven't I keep hopeing they won't implement the proximity sensor, because mine is broken :p08:44
popeyJamesTait: Elleo has08:54
JamesTaitjustCarakas, I had that problem on my old HTC Desire - made ending calls interesting. ;)08:55
Elleopopey: I've just been using Accelerometer directly, I haven't done anything with TiltSensor08:56
justCarakasJamesTait: Yea, I had to map the powerdown button to end calls08:56
justCarakasbut sometimes I have to spam it08:57
JamesTaitElleo, right, that's what I was thinking of doing as well.08:57
JamesTaitI think for my purposes I can just ignore the z component.08:57
DanChapmanpopey, Good Morning just upgraded to utopic this morning and seems the WebKit message view is well....... black! :-( http://people.ubuntu.com/~dpniel/img/webkit_utopic.png09:32
popeyerk09:32
popeyDanChapman: wonder if it's a qt5.3 thing?09:34
DanChapmanpopey: yeah I was thinking the same, I'll see if dropping back to Qt 5.2 resolves it. I presume that would be an upstream bug?09:36
popeypossibly, but worth filing on our build09:37
popeyin case we messed it up09:37
JamesTaitpopey, the script you use to query Click Index, retrieve packages, install and run them - is that available somewhere?10:27
popeyJamesTait: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7673849/10:30
popey /home/alan/bin/get-all-clicks.py --credentials-file /home/alan/bin/certfile $TARGET10:30
popeythats what i run10:30
JamesTaitpopey, you are a star, thank you. :)10:30

JamesTaitpopey, you and Rob Schroll are the only two non-app-scope users of the Index that I know about, and I'm trying to make sure I don't break it for you with our latest changes. :)10:31
popeyheh10:32
popeygood man!10:32
t1mpDanChapman: oh I got some black stuff (inside popovers, even some buttons) with qt53 inside a vm10:36
t1mpDanChapman: do you use a vm, or is this qt53 on ubuntu directly on your hardware?10:36
DanChapmantimp i'm running directly on my hardware, it seems to be only the webview displaying black, I just checked all the popovers etc and they seem fine10:38
DanChapmant1mp: ^^10:39
t1mphmm, interesting. I was suspecting everything that uses shaders broke for me10:40
DanChapmant1mp, popey seems setting WebView.experimental.transparentBackground is cause of the black screen.11:11

Guest71427Hi, I have a problem with trying my apps on my nexus 7 - when I click devices in the Ubuntu sdk and open log, it says "Developer tools not installed", How can I install that?20:19
ahayzen_balloons, ping20:22
balloonsahayzen_, pong20:22
t1mpGuest71427: on your computer you need to apt-get install ubuntu-sdk20:22
ahayzen_balloons, any idea what is going on here? https://bugs.launchpad.net/music-app/+bug/133257020:22
ubot5Ubuntu bug 1332570 in Ubuntu Music App "music_app.tests.test_music.TestMainWindow.test_next_previous failed on mako #91" [Medium,In progress]20:22
balloonsGuest71427, ohh t1mp beat me :-)20:22
balloonsGuest71427, also install phablet-tools20:22
Guest71427I'm running the ubuntu sdk now20:23
ahayzen_balloons, has Qt5.3 broken something in the test or is it just a flaky test?20:23
t1mpGuest71427: under devices, on the "device" tab, there is an option near the bottom that says "has developer mode enabled"20:24
ahayzen_balloons, i ran it locally on my device and it was fine...i'll run again to double check20:24
t1mpGuest71427: for me that's on.. I guess you can click the switch to install it?20:24
Guest71427it is ticked on20:24
Guest71427But phablet-tools wasnt installed - installing it now20:24
t1mpGuest71427: /whois Guest7142720:24
t1mpoops :)20:24
t1mpGuest71427: I have a "device kit" listed as installed at the bottom of that page..20:25
t1mpzbenjamin and bzoltan1 would be the experts for this, but it is already late in the evening for them. You can ask them on Monday20:26
Guest71427I hava a create buttpn, but it dosent work, my device freezes so I have to wipe it20:26
t1mpGuest71427: I usually run phablet-config writable-image && phablet-click-test-setup to configure the device20:27
ahayzen_balloons, and that test passed again on my device20:28
balloonsahayzen_, ohh you are back20:28
balloonsahayzen_, so vthompson left a comment on his thoughts20:28
balloonsI'll assume he is correct, I left a comment also20:28
ahayzen_balloons, think that was my ghost from earlier that disappeared20:28
balloonsahayzen_, ahh :-)20:29
ahayzen_balloons, hah and proposed and branch ...20:29
balloonsahayzen_, hah! he's quick!20:29
ahayzen_:) i did ping him earlier to take a look20:29
ahayzen_balloons, he is fixing by removing the check that it is playing?20:30
balloonsahayzen_, yea, seems interesting20:31
ahayzen_balloons, could we not just seek to near the start of the track? instead of dropping the check that it is playing20:31
balloonsahayzen_, I'm looking at another test atm, so I'll have to save comments till I look closer. But odds are there is a better way20:33
balloonsit's worth discussing20:33
ahayzen_balloons, he is suggesting to just drop checking the play status as we check in other places (and have other tests to check this) ... so tht would just resolve it for now?20:33
t1mpemiram: 22:27:52 < t1mp> Guest71427: I usually run phablet-config writable-image && phablet-click-test-setup to configure the device20:34
t1mpemiram: dunno if that works for you20:34
* t1mp off20:35
balloonsahayzen_, play status is not a critical piece of the test so sure, it's reasonable to not assert about it20:35
ahayzen_balloons, yeah agreed ... Victor suggests... ' one thing we could do is wait 5 second hit previous and then pause and hit previous to actually go back'20:36
ahayzen_balloons, anyway ur busy at the moment i'll discuss with victor and come up with something20:37
balloonsahayzen_, I'll review it if needed. But yea, I think you've got it20:37
ahayzen_balloons, cool thanks20:38
balloonsif you can simplify the test, do it.20:38
balloonstest only what you are after and nothing more20:38

ahayzen_balloons, we plan to have two tests to test the previous functionality ... http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/7676761/ ... test1 is what victor's branch is now and should fix the issue of that test...do you want/need to approve as it is a small change (exactly as it was earlier)21:08
balloonsahayzen_, so that's interesting21:11
* ahayzen_ has probably written horrible test plans21:11
balloonsfor test 2 would you select next again?21:11
balloonslol.. I'm just wondering what21:12
balloonsalright, let's have a look at th etests21:12
ahayzen_balloons, no ... if the track has been playing for more than 5 seconds then if you hit previous in the app it jumps to the start of the song (not going to previous)21:12
* balloons is looking21:13
balloonsahayzen_, ahh..21:13
balloonslol, I missed that in test 221:13
balloonswow21:13
ahayzen_balloons, we'll do test2 in a future branch :)21:14
ahayzen_balloons, ah :)21:14
balloonsahayzen_, ok, so looking at this, if you just remove the asserts.. that seems odd21:15
ahayzen_balloons, we think that checking the isPlaying is causing a large enough delay for it to pass 5 seconds and therefore when you hit previous it is performing the wrong behaviour21:16
ahayzen_balloons, but we could be wrong ;)21:16
balloonsahayzen_, glad you are here, hah21:16
balloonsI was so slow in realizing what was going on21:16
balloonsit's the trouble with jumping between things21:16
balloonsok, I'm on the same page ow21:16
balloonsthe issue is behavoir changes depending on how far the song is21:17
ahayzen_balloons, yep21:17
balloonsso I agree, I would use seek, certainly21:17
ahayzen_balloons, so hitting next then straight away hitting pause should be enough? (taking out the check of isPlaying inbetween)21:17
balloonsahayzen_, I don't like that solution as much21:17
balloonsin general you highlighted the problem that you are really wanting to check behavoir depending on time passed21:18
ahayzen_balloons, ok...i'll see if we can seek...21:18
balloonsahayzen_, I mean if you just assume it's playing and it doesn't queue the test could still fail21:18
balloonsI guess the goal is to make sure you understand what's happening if it fails. and that a failure is a sign of a real breakage21:19
ahayzen_balloons, yep ...that is what made us decide to split the tests...but i agree the seeking could be better21:19
balloonsahayzen_, I also like the idea of both tests.. seems sane21:20
* popey dreams of music_app tests with new songs21:20
ahayzen_yeah21:20
balloonshaha popey.. I have a selection I'd like to add21:20
ahayzen_popey, are these lullaby's ?21:20

=== _salem is now known as salem_
popeyliterally _anything_ would be better21:20
ahayzen_i think we should just have tracks with a single tone at different freqs ... but tht is just my opinion :P21:21
* ahayzen_ needs to do investigation of how other apps test the multiple different audio formats anyway21:21
balloonsI wonder if sharelike with attribution is ok.. I suppose public domain music is best21:22
* balloons answers his question.. cc with attribution seems like a no21:30
bluezoneGuys... i'm having this wierd issue where my postinst script modifies a configuration file in /etc/ and saves it (with python).
