[09:42] hey elfy [09:43] hi [09:43] The ppa:noskcaj/upower is ready if you've got someone who can test it [09:43] Most just does session still work? [09:47] major b/b issues here I'll be doing nothing [09:50] ok [09:57] Noskcaj: what does ^^ mean? [09:57] and I'll check it out later today [09:57] what should I expect to see that's different though? [10:02] * bluesabre is around [10:02] hi bluesabre [10:02] hey elfy [10:02] what's up? [10:05] bluesabre: do you know what the Noskcaj upower ppa is related to? [10:06] upower 0.99 [10:06] lol [10:06] its something that we'll be transitioning to shortly in debian unstable and utopic [10:07] ok - so not a fix - just an updated package? [10:07] elfy: Patching all the things so they hopefully work with it. [10:07] Unit193: thanks :) [10:07] yeah, it directly affects several packages [10:07] so - basically I'm installing it to make sure it doesn't go belly up on us [10:09] pretty much [10:09] also gives xfce4-power-manager 1.3 [10:09] which is what ochosi has been working on for several weeks now [10:10] okey doke - I'll check it out later today then [10:11] cool [17:00] Noskcaj bluesabre - installed PPA, all upgraded [19:03] forestpiskie/elfy, cool, any surprise issues? [19:04] none at all :) [20:00] bluesabre: quick follow-up, have you already submitted your application for uploader? [20:00] not sure if that is still the case with 14.04 but 13.10 installer has allocated too little space to /boot partition. Every now and then upgrade fails because there is no space on disk for kernel images/initrd. [20:00] andrzejr: i guess old kernel images aren't autoremoved when new ones get pulled in? [20:01] ochosi: not yet, going to do so tomorrow after i get some things sorted out [20:01] bluesabre: sounds great! [20:01] yup, removing them manually with synaptic fixes the problem. [20:01] a knome comment would be cool too [20:01] ;) [20:01] knome: ^^ pleeeease... [20:06] forestpiskie, Sorry i didn't reply, my internet broke, then it was time for sleep. [20:07] Pretty much just make sure nothing is broken, especially session, which out logind patch hopefully fixed [20:12] another issue: flash-installer does not install the settings panel. Settings panel is needed to switch off hw acceleration. With hw acceleration firefox hangs twice a day (nouveau drivers) [20:13] how is that xubuntu specific? :) [20:14] It affects xubuntu installations? [20:35] hmm, disabling hw acceleration in flash player does not fixes firefox freezes. Just had another one. [20:35] Still, it is useful to have flash settings dialog available. [20:50] ochosi: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/im-xfce-power-manager-wird-ab-version-1-3-0-da/ [20:50] andrzejr: but flash isn't installed by default [20:51] so the user decides what he wants to install [20:52] brainwash, sorry, forgot that. Must have installed it on the first day. [20:53] besides, I can confirm that hw accel can cause some trouble [20:53] but it only should crash the plugin container, not firefox [20:55] I guess the main issue is that firefox only works with the old flash plugin 11.2, the newer version for chrome seems to be more stable [20:55] you could also test https://github.com/i-rinat/freshplayerplugin [20:59] andrzejr: oh, strange bug 1335414 [20:59] bug 1335414 in xfce4-panel (Ubuntu) "dropbox icon crashes permanently" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1335414 [21:00] I tend to change the target to dropbox [21:01] does not look like a panel/indicator bug [21:02] how to reproduce it? Is it sync-indicator? [21:03] (indicator-sync) [21:03] don't think so [21:04] any idea what to ask the reporter to get the right debug info? [22:06] bluesabre, ochosi: bah :P [22:51] bluesabre: did you ask any sponsors for testimonies? [22:51] e.g. dholbach comes to mind [22:51] or i dunno, anyone else that you exchanged more than 2lines with :) [22:51] haven't yet, also on my todo... there's a few that have helped more than once [22:53] cool [22:54] that might be more important even than mighty knome's comment ;D [22:55] probably :D [23:09] huhu [23:09] yeah, most definitely [23:12] still, get it over with! :)
