This update broke my tuner - Hauppauge Nova-TD Stick. [14:26] hmm [14:26] I'm on a 3.8 kernel... [14:34] 3.15 here [14:37] apparently in mythbuntu 12.04.3, they used 3.8 as the default kernel [14:37] I don't know the actual build number though [14:37] it updates often [15:13] Colossus__: point releases get the backported kernel from the latest release [15:13] ahh [15:13] up through .2, they still used 3.2 though [15:14] my backend is on .3, my frontend is on .2 [15:14] I guess there wasn'ta viable option at that time [15:33] Colossus__: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack [15:34] maybe I'm running .1 then [16:10] FWIW.. running 12.04.4.. [16:10] uname -a [16:10] Linux myth-familyroom 3.5.0-51-generic #77~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 5 00:48:28 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux [16:14] weird [16:14] .4 is supposed to have 3.11 [16:15] 3.5 came with .2... did you upgrade from .2? [17:30] If you install an earlier version and do updates, you won't automatically get the updated kernel (although you can manually install it from the repos). [17:30] If you install a new point release, it ships with the new kernel and you will get that installed by default [17:30] Colossus__: dr0w ^ [17:31] I can go into detail about why if you want, just know that it makes sense [17:34] seems logical === tgm4883__ is now known as tgm4883
