[11:52] <melodie_> I have fired Xubuntu in Virtualbox to see something, and seeking for the language-selector to put it into my language, I realized that the menu entry is not there though the program is installed

I have looked into the destop file and of course a long list of categories, but nothing that allows it to display in the Xfce or Whiskermenus! and what about Synaptic? I installed it, but I can try to launch it, it won't start! something wrong with pkexec not started in Xubuntu

[11:53] <melodie_> and the desktop files through all the distros I know of are a mess
[11:54] <melodie_> this is something which should be done straight, in order to provide a good user experience, not a mess looking into /usr/share/applications each time a program is not found in the menus
