mitya57Hi, does anybody know why compiz in utopic is older than in trusty-updates? That is creating some issues during upgrade, because of not matching libmetacity versions. (bug 1351480)09:10
ubot5bug 1351480 in compiz (Ubuntu) "Compiz in utopic is older than in Trusty-updates" [High,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/135148009:10
willcookehrm09:12
willcookeone for seb128 I think.09:13
seb128well "because the landing in trusty is more recent than the one in utopic, and versions used by the CI landing use the dates"09:13
seb128or not in this case in fact, the version also have the serie in them09:15
seb128seems like the compiz team bumped the version to 0.9.11.2 and didn't land that version yet in utopic09:15
seb128one for bregma09:15
willcookethx seb12809:15

=== locutusborg is now known as LocutusOfBorg1
bregmamitya57, there was a miscommunication on version bumping on the last Utopic release of Compiz (it should be 0.9.12-yadda.yadda), we'll be taking care of it shortly when we push some Metacity fixes11:38
seb128mterry, hey! people are looking for you, better close IRC if you didn't get your coffee yet ;-)13:10
mterryseb128, uh oh.  Haven't gotten to any disastrous emails yet, wonder why13:11
mitya57bregma: Thanks for the response. By "Metacity fixes", you mean one of Alberts Muktupāvels' branches?13:11
seb128mterry, the gcovr sync is making CI unhappy13:11
mterryseb128, oh huh13:11
seb128mterry, things hang and timeout and tests are red for ui toolkit, settings, and probably other things13:12
mterryseb128, who's looking?13:12
mitya57bregma: FYI, the current compiz in utopic is built without Metacity support.13:12
seb128mterry, nobody, I think the CI team was waiting for you, since you did the sync13:12
mterryseb128, I guess I meant who specifically is looking for me  :)  The whole team?  ::gulp::13:13
seb128mterry, psivaa is/was I think13:14
mterryseb128, thanks for letting me know!  No good sync goes unpunished  :)13:15
seb128yw!13:16
bregmamitya57, I think albertsmuktupavels MPs are required to get the Metacity support in Compiz to even build on Utopic13:32
willcookeqengho, are you aware of a general issue of Chromium crashing when downloading files?  I've had it happen a few times, but it's probably just me14:01
qenghowillcooke: I haven't seen it or heard of it. Do you mind debugging?  Install chromium-browser-dbg package, and in terminal, "chromium-browser -g" .  "r".  "bt" at crash.14:09

kenvandineseb128, what do you do to update the pot file for settings?15:04
seb128kenvandine, don't15:04
kenvandinebug 134995915:05
ubot5bug 1349959 in Ubuntu Translations ""Display brightness" message appears untranslated" [Medium,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/134995915:05
seb128kenvandine, you would make https://code.launchpad.net/~pitti/ubuntu-system-settings/i18n/+merge/230062 conflicts15:05
seb128kenvandine, that widget should go away anyway15:07
seb128kenvandine, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Power#Phone ... mpt changed the design, the slider should move back to the indicator and that section should be replaced by a listitem pushing the other panel instead15:08
kenvandinemake sense15:10
kenvandinei'll do that15:10
seb128thanks15:10
seb128kenvandine, to reply to the question, in a builddir "cd obj.../po; make pot"15:10
seb128to update the pot15:10
kenvandinebut then you sed out the paths or something right?15:11
seb128well, I try to do that to have a smaller changeset, but it's not strictly required15:11
seb128the content is fine without that15:11
seb128we should fix the rule to use relative paths instead15:12
kenvandineseb128, the brightness panel uses that component too15:12
kenvandinei guess we should use the slider from the system components?15:12
seb128kenvandine, right, which means the issue is still value15:12
seb128that would be better, if there is one15:13
kenvandinethere is15:13
kenvandinei used it for the volume control15:13
=== alan_g is now known as alan_g|afk
seb128great15:13
kenvandineoh... actually this isn't bad15:14
kenvandineif we drop it from the battery panel15:14
kenvandinethen just move this to the brightness panel15:14
seb128well, anyway, that issue is not a translation template one15:14
kenvandineyeah... i know15:14
seb128the component comes from the indicator15:14
kenvandineit uses the QDBusActionGroup from the indicator15:15
seb128right15:15
willcookepopey, please send cal invite to didrocks too15:15
kenvandinebasically if it's just used in one place, we can move the qml file to the one place15:15
kenvandineand it does the right thing15:15
willcookepopey, we have team meeting at 1630 tomorrow, so could we be up first?15:15
popeywillcooke: done.15:16

seb128cyphermox_, hey, do you have any n-m precise upload planned? do you think you could have a look at uploading the fix on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/network-manager/+bug/1076458 ?15:36
ubot5Ubuntu bug 1076458 in network-manager (Ubuntu Precise) "[network]: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in nm_device_get_udi()" [High,Triaged]15:36

cyphermox_anyway, yeah, I'll upload that today15:37
seb128cyphermox_, thanks15:37
seb128cyphermox_, seems not, the patch applies fine to the version from precise-updates15:37

kenvandinebut significantly better in the chart than before17:47
seb128kenvandine, yeah, if you have another idea to improve that I'm listening17:47
kenvandinei don't :)17:47
kenvandinemust have something to do with canvas17:47
kenvandineand fillText17:47
seb128yeah17:47
kenvandinewhich i've never touched17:47
kenvandinedisabling antialias makes it look like it isn't antialiased :)17:48
kenvandinewhich is expected17:48
kenvandinewith antialias it looks terribe17:48
seb128yeah, that's weird17:48
kenvandinemaybe something about rendering canvas?17:48
seb128dunno, but that's the toolkit doing, we don't have much control over that17:49
seb128it's weird that not setting the property leads to different result than false/true value17:49
seb128one of the 2 values should be the same as not setting it17:49
