=== dkeith__ is now known as dkeith [03:28] hi eeryone... [03:28] http://paste.ubuntu.com/8119207/ [03:28] the problem apears to be here.... Setting up mythtv-database (2:0.27.0+fixes.20140324.8ee257c-0ubuntu3) ... [03:28] ERROR 1046 (3D000) at line 22: No database selected [03:29] any suggestions? :) [04:08] waxhead: you need to fix /etc/mythtv/config.xml [04:08] it doesn't have the right info [04:08] tgm4883, thanks... looks like I might have found that... [04:08] the upgrade completed... [04:08] mythweb looks broken now.. [04:09] and I've rebooted and got the new kernel... [04:09] I can't see the backend running though... [04:09] waxhead: had you previously edited the mythweb apache config? [04:09] not that I recall... [04:10] but I have now to put the mythconverg details [04:10] in [04:10] init: mythtv-backend respawning too fast, stopped [04:10] so the backend isn't staying started? [04:11] how do I start the mythback end these days?? [04:11] sudo service mythtv-backend start [04:11] not in /etc/init.d ? [04:13] you don't need to run that no [04:13] just the command above [04:13] or restart/stop/status, depending on what you want the service to do [04:15] thnks [04:15] old school.. too used to typing it in [04:16] mythtv-status doesn't work [04:16] Sorry, failed to fetch http://localhost:6544/Status/GetStatus: 500 Can't connect to localhost:6544 (Connection refused) [04:17] nothing is listeningo n that port... [04:19] waxhead: does 'sudo service mythtv-backend status' say that it is running? [04:20] service mythtv-backend status [04:20] mythtv-backend stop/waiting [04:20] CoreContext main_helpers.cpp:555 (run_backend) Couldn't upgrade database to new schema [04:21] weird [04:21] have you tried running mythtv-setup [04:21] I CoreContext dbcheck.cpp:463 (UpgradeTVDatabaseSchema) Waiting for database schema upgrade lock [04:21] nope... [04:21] this is a failed do-release-upgrade [04:22] so just happy I have a working linux box... [04:22] looks like collateral damage [04:22] oh... that's the gui part? [04:22] yea [04:22] drat... OK.. this is going to annoy the people in the house more... :-) [04:23] I've not seen a schema failure update [04:34] I've just got it from 1300 to 1311 [04:34] 1311 to 1317 isn't work [04:34] ing [04:34] is there an error log somewhere i can see? [04:34] the one in the little terminal when you run mythtv-setup? [04:35] what version were you upgrading from? [04:36] well the log would be /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log [04:36] can you pastebin the output of 'dpkg -l | grep myth' [04:41] that's better... [04:41] back [04:41] did a release-upgrade from 1204 to 1404 [04:43] what was the dpkg command you wanted me to run? [04:44] no [04:44] 'dpkg -l | grep myth' [04:47] I wonder if it's a perms problem in mysql [04:47] perhaps, anything in the log file? and what is the output of that command? [04:48] http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/8119665/ [04:52] and dpkg [04:52] http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/8119685/ [04:53] This is the master backend? [04:54] hmm, ok can you pastebin check your /etc/mythtv/config.xml file against your /home/mythtv/.mythtv/config.xml file and see if they are the same (the one in /home should be a symlink to the other). Also, what is the output of 'ip addr' and also can you verify that the IP address for the master backend in mythtv-setup is set to this machine? [04:54] doing some quick research indicates that error message is because only the master backend can upgrade the schema and this machine doesn't think it's the master backend [04:58] oh... ok.. thanks.. [04:59] sym link is pointing int he irght place [04:59] I think I know what the problem might be.. [04:59] IP and hostnames mixed up? [04:59] ie hostname is right, but config has IP [05:01] possibly, try fixing it and trying again [05:02] if that doesn't help, I'd ask over in #mythtv-users, since this would be a mythtv problem and you might find more people over there with the right answer (you might at least see a mythtv developer) [05:03] nope... and I have to go now.. got hockey... [05:03] thanks... [05:04] Im' working on the master machine... [05:04] so the IP and names are right.. [07:43] where will I find the log file to show error with the mythtv-setup command? [14:21] Hi.. seems like a duplicate in the settings table is causing the schema upgrade to fail: http://pastebin.com/RdrK4Gv3 [17:26] I am trying to install an Hauppauge 2250 card in my Mythbuntu box, and I am at the end of my rope getting it to load the correct firmware. [17:28] I have been all across the web on google with forum posts, how-to's, and various other "easy way install" pages, but nothing seems to work. [17:28] Any advice for me from the group?
