[21:43] hi! =) [21:44] What's up? :D [21:44] mhall119: invited me [21:44] today is a day. i need beer, wine, whiskey, and coffee [21:44] C13L0: nice dude [21:45] C13L0: do you game at all? [21:45] I did and I really want to [21:46] Got a Steam? o.o [21:46] I have xcom sitting on my computer for 6 months and I haven't even touched it! [21:46] * C13L0 cries [21:46] yes i have steam with the original! [21:47] but even better, I have the original original in floppy disk with original manual sitting here at my house [21:47] whoa nice [21:47] I bought it when it first came out in the 90's :D [21:47] wait [21:47] Steam account* [21:47] I don't think we're talking about the same Steam [21:48] one sec, sorry skype...my boss [21:48] o.O [21:49] You're talking to your boss on Skype? [21:53] Nothing_Much: yes, been on about 3+ hrs of calls this afternoon already [21:53] well anyways, did the Unity 7 problem resolve itself from that Reddit thread? [21:53] C13L0: whoa! wow, why? [21:54] lol, just a day like any other day :D work...work...work [21:54] nice! [21:54] server problems, theming problems, db problems, customer problems, PM problems [21:54] oh my [21:55] oh myyy [21:55] ;) [21:55] teehee [21:55] my work will be at fossetcon next year. It was simply too short of notice this year [21:57] mhall119: there was a GNOME dev that was explaining why unity wasn't being brought over to GNOME or something [21:57] C13L0: in FL? [21:58] yes, i live in indian harbour beach [21:58] you? [21:58] Deltona [21:59] ahh [21:59] s'nice place but not many jobs are out there [21:59] thankfully I just got my job last monday [22:00] Nothing_Much++ [22:00] that is great! telecommuting? [22:00] I think so [22:00] even better [22:01] more like tech support on the phone [22:01] The best people are those who are involved in the community. It often takes time but eventually dedication to "us" will get you where you want to be [22:01] well [22:02] I might get a 3rd job [22:02] one of my friends wants a community manager [22:02] That would be great! [22:02] I told him I could do it, but.. I dunno lol, he says it's easy: just don't react negatively and filter out bad things or something [22:04] A friend of mine lost his job at the space center several years ago and couldn't find anything. He got involved with the local makerspace and started giving free breadboard classes. About a year later, someone through someone in the community recommended him for a job [22:04] it's all about communication [22:04] He is now making more than ever and actually loves his work =) [22:04] haha nice [22:05] Well i have to get back to work because they are waiting for me to push some stuff up to the server [22:05] alright [22:05] take care! [22:05] :D [22:05] though [22:06] my management would mostly be online [22:06] Don't turn any work down, even if it is donated time. All stuff in the resume... [22:07] I won't [22:07] Things are gonna go great for you! [22:07] heck yes [22:19] Nothing_Much: what about Gnome and Unity now? [22:21] mhall119: From that reddit thread I started [22:21] hold up [22:22] http://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/2e9smb/so_what_makes_people_not_want_to_package_ubuntus/cjxirxe this in particular [22:31] Nothing_Much: yeah, Jasper (magcius) and I talked about it, of the 2 specific examples he gave one is deprecated and removed from Ubuntu already, and the other has agreement between Ubuntu and Gnome devs on how to resolve it, it's just waiting on somebody to have the time to do so [22:32] mhall119: so it's a Triaged bug? [22:33] I don't know if it's a bug in Launchpad, but the patch maintainers know what needs to be done to get it upstreamed [22:34] but I gather it will take a not insignificant amount of time and effort to make those changes [22:35] so should it be like.. promoted or something? [22:36] let people know that it's waiting to be pushed upstream or patched or whatever it's called?
