xubuntu41wthe "default-display-manager" points to "/usr/sbin/lightdm". Is lightdm the binary that sends the signals?01:06
Bl4ckSh4d0w:P01:06
BarnabasDKxubuntu41w, lightdm is the new parallel to say GDM from the gnome days01:08
BarnabasDKso that is what stars up your session from a login screen01:08
xubuntu41woh01:08
BarnabasDKso if it does not work, try to do a01:09

pkWhat I was trying to do was to take that signal stream and pipe it to another screen01:11
pkIs that at all possible?01:13
BarnabasDKanything is possible, whats the end goal ?01:13
pkto make a monitor from a client to see the servers monitor01:13
pkthat's the end goal01:13
BarnabasDKwhen you say "monitor" do you mean the console or something with colors and stripes?01:15
pkby monitor I mean something with colors and stripes01:15
pkIn other words, i want a client to connect to a server through HTTP and see the server's screen.01:16
BarnabasDKwhats wrong with x/rdp/vnc/reminna etc?01:16
BarnabasDKaah01:16
pkwhat that? i have never heard of it01:16
BarnabasDKhttp is a passive protocol .. how do you expect to access a GUI?01:17
pkI want to pipe a stream on signals sent by the server's monitor  through http to the client ...01:17
=== Bl4ckSh4d0w is now known as RedDeath
pk... which will pipe that stream to his own monitor01:18
pktherefore displaying the servers screen on his display.01:18
BarnabasDKHTTP is a passive protocol its not two ways ..01:19
BarnabasDKthe client requests the server01:19
BarnabasDKnot the other way around01:19
pkbut the server can use the socket to send some data back right?01:20
BarnabasDKper request yes01:20
BarnabasDKPOST/GET stuff01:20
pkIs there any other way to pipe data between computers other than http?01:21
BarnabasDKyeah I would start with SSH01:22
BarnabasDKfrom there all other protocols you can tunnel01:22
pki will see if NodeJS can make01:23
pkSSH sockets01:23
BarnabasDKtry that ..01:23
BarnabasDKI would try using ssh01:24
pkok yeah it is possible01:25
pkso can I pipe the stream to the client through ssh?01:27
BarnabasDKI think what you are trying to do is to create access to a server via http / html5 that requires the client to load a number of libraries from a server01:31
BarnabasDKhttp://guac-dev.org/01:31
BarnabasDKmaybe01:31
BarnabasDKconsider the security implications01:32
BarnabasDKif you are uncertain about that, maybe you should not be enabling server access over http01:34
pkLOL I think guacamole is what I was trying to make01:36
BarnabasDKbasically an RDP client coded in JS01:36
pkyeah01:37
pkdang it01:38
pkThanks for all the help.01:39
pkSee you another time.01:39
BarnabasDKyep stay safe :-D01:39

james0rthere a way to get the indicator applet to not grab system tray icons from apps?09:33
james0ri see you can hide them, but then the notifications plugin won't take them09:33
brainwasholbi: no09:35
olbibrainwash: :(09:35
olbiso stable version of Xubuntu 14.04 will be soon outdated :P09:36
brainwasholbi: you can get newer package versions via PPA09:36
olbiPPA aren't good way cause sometime are library conflicts09:36
brainwashindeed, things can break09:37
olbithat's why I think you should update in main repo such apps like xfce4-power-manager and others for Xfce :-)09:38
olbiofcourse after testing it09:38
brainwashthat's not how the update policy works09:38
brainwashyou request a backport of a specific packages09:39

brainwashjames0r: you could just remove indicator-application09:43

james0rbrainwash, i'll probably just do without.09:43

livingdaylightVideos on facebook don't play. "This plug-in is not supported" is the error message. I have to click on the youtube address if there is one, to then watch it in youtube. So, does anyone know what this might be?13:37

cfhowlettlivingdaylight, WHAT plugin?13:40
livingdaylightit doesn't say.. cfhowlett the dialog just greys over and says what I quoted13:41

RemunJAnyone a clue how to fix an internal error (KernelOops) named: BUG: Bad rss-counter state mm:f25fa000 idx:1 val:5?17:41
drcRemunJ: 1) No idea, 2) Absolutely no hits on googling your string, 3) Lots of hits on "Bad rss-counter state", but they all appear to be kernel related.  I'm going to take a wild guess and say that no one here will have an answer for you.  I'd try 1) googling and see if there is something close to your problem and 2) Try one of the more kernel related channels.17:49
drcGoogling will probably not find anything, but may give you more venues to ask in.17:52
RemunJI didn't find anything too that I can use with my knowledge ...17:54
drcThen I'd start with ##kernel.17:55
RemunJHad it before and a week ago or so but it than suddenly disappeared .. hmmm. I will try the ##kernel room later. Thanks anyway :)17:57
