shadeslayerapachelogger: staph15:13
shadeslayerthey history15:13
shadeslayerthink of the history15:13
apacheloggerlike you really believe the history is going to make it into git15:16
sgclarknot that I will get an answer, but I will try anyway.. What is the story on plasma-active? okular wants it , but it does not exist for utopic?15:26
shadeslayerokular has a optional dep right15:29
shadeslayersurely that can be dropped15:29
sgclarktechnically yes, it will remove features... hopefully no one will notice? /shrug15:35
shadeslayersgclark: since we're making a concious decision to drop plasma, some fallout is expected15:42
shadeslayershould be minor though15:42
sgclarkok15:42
apacheloggerno one uses active15:43

sgclarkScottK: apachelogger: shadeslayer or anyone important, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kio/+bug/1371211 need Ack? I guess.17:12
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1371211 in kio (Ubuntu) "[FFe] KDE Frameworks" [Undecided,New]17:12
shadeslayersgclark: up to the release team17:17
shadeslayernominated for utopic17:17
sgclarkshadeslayer: just doing what Riddell told me to do. He mentioned to ask for Ack. /shrug17:18
Riddellright, me or ScottK are release team17:19
Riddellbut apachelogger said plasma-frameworks was broken?17:19
sgclarksaid nothing to me. ok....17:21
Riddell10:53 < apachelogger> Riddell, shadeslayer, yofel: present frameworks is not good for upload17:25
Riddell10:53 < apachelogger> plasma-framework is entirely fucked17:25
Riddell10:54 < apachelogger> because I am now bzr reverting without upgrade path17:25
Riddell10:56 < apachelogger> fully reverted now except for legit changes17:25
Riddellso maybe it's ok now not sure17:25
apacheloggerRiddell: should be good now17:26
apacheloggersgclark: how did you bump the versions on plasma-workspace and baloo btw?17:26
apacheloggeror with what tool17:26
apacheloggerbecause they got things wrong... baloo, kfilemetadata and kscreen are not frameworks17:26
sgclarkapachelogger: those were manual.. it was late, I likely screwed up. I am the one working on all this, why would you not ping me with issues??17:34
apacheloggersgclark: because I can just as well fix them? :P17:35
apacheloggerthey are blocking ci rollout17:35
sgclarkyou pinged everyone else... whatever.17:36
apacheloggerI blocked them to not upload something that was broken17:36
apacheloggers/blocked/pinged17:36
sgclarkalright. I suppose that makes sense. Sorry, tired and cranky.17:37
MamarokI have another problem: no network manager, there appears to be a plasma-nm, but that is for plasma517:54
MamarokI have to start the network manually on startup, ditto for x17:54
Mamarokso apparently there are still some packages that were not reverted to previous kubuntu-desktop17:55
* Mamarok ponders reinstalling, since my system right now is really screwed17:56
sgclarkMamarok: I am on pure kde4 atm and having network issues... so it may not be from that. 17:56
Mamarokwell, it's not networking issues, I have a network manager that is for plasma5, which clearly is wrong, so the reverting to plasma4 is a partial failure17:57
Mamarokhence my idea about reinstalling17:57
Mamarokbut that means I have to make a backup again and will loose time again17:58
alleeMamarok:  FWIW you can put /home into it's own partition.  And if you have the space create an os1 and os2 partition.  So one never 'reinstall', but  install on the other unsused os<N> partition.  In this case you can even quickly boot in the old system if the new OS installation fails.18:07
Mamarokallee: I know that, not a beginner...18:08
alleeMamarok: uh, it's not only me how know that?  Damn :-)18:08
Mamarokbut this is an SSD, and I choose not to use a separate home aprtition anymore because of that, cause the alst few upgrades were not a problem, I didn't expect plasma5 to screw up so much when reverting to plsma418:09
Mamarokcause right now I still have a lot of plasma5 in use isntead of plasma4, purging the next ppa didn't full work18:09
Mamarokanyway, downoding the beta and going back to a separate home aprtition, seems a better choice with all the screw up18:10
alleeOh, oh. Stuff always goes wrong when there's no backup!  That's a law :-)18:10
yofelAFAIK Ubiquity can install over an installed system by removing the existing system folders, you could try that first18:11
Mamarokerm, that is not the point, I do have a backup18:11
yofelok18:11
Mamarokyofel: that was my answer to allee18:11
Mamarokyofel: any link to the old network manager so I could install it?18:11
Mamarokanyway, I guess reinstalling is in order, there also is lightdm screwed up18:12
Mamarokand my wegGL doesn't work anymore either18:12
yofellightdm should not be screwed up.. it works fine even on my plasma5 install18:12
Mamarokwell, it doesn't start18:12
yofelthe nm widget would be in plasma-widget-networkmanagement 0.9.3.4-118:12
MamarokI ahve to start x manually18:12
yofel:/18:13
MamarokI have the package, but I also have plasma-nm from plasma5, so I guess it makes the widget simply not showing up18:14
BluesKaj_Mamarok, I had to reinstall the OS to / , after I had the same problem as yours18:14
Mamarokanyway, reinstalling, let me find a suitable USB disk...18:14
Mamarokand I will repartition the disk, seems to be safer to have home separately after all...18:15
Mamaroklet's hope at least the partition manager works18:15
BluesKaj_Mamarok, yes it is safer, saved my "bacon" a few times already 18:17
BluesKaj_I use an old 1G stick with gparted on it 18:18
geniiMmm bacon18:45
Mamarokbrilliant, usb-creator-kde doesn't let me erase an USB disk...18:47
MamarokI get this error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Python.dbus.exceptions.DBusException: com.ubuntu.USBCreator.Error.NotAuthorized18:47
Mamarokdespite having asked me my password18:48
* Mamarok tries unetbootin18:51
Mamarokcrap, now kdesudo doesn't work anymore...18:51
Mamaroklooks like everything is pretty much screwed right now18:52
* Mamarok tries to find a DVD18:52
mcstr_in kde plasma next when i chose print key as shortcut to run ksnapshot even if assigned it does nothing, is that a reported bug yet?20:33
soee_there is a lot of shortcuts missing21:07
