[00:01] is ubuntu gnome - officially recognized flavor? [00:05] derek-g, yes [00:06] darkxst, cool. gonna try it. [00:06] Noskcaj, you might need to export GSETTINGS_SCHEMA_DIR [00:06] is it sexy? [00:07] whatever - gonna install it anyway:) [00:09] Noskcaj, export GSETTINGS_SCHEMA_DIR=$(CURDIR)/data [00:10] I can't wait for this thing to be implemented: http://0pointer.net/blog/revisiting-how-we-put-together-linux-systems.html [00:14] derek-g, you might be waiting a while ;) [00:14] darkxst, it's worth it. .. soooo atomic and awesome. [00:14] darkxst, and repeatable [00:14] darkxst, no more wiping my system once every 6 months cuz I want it clean [00:15] darkxst, I'll do that in a few hours, playing dota now [00:15] darkxst, and chain-signed.... sexxyyy... [00:15] Lennart Poettering - you're a beacon of light in otherwise dark and dreary world. [00:17] nyway. thanks. im off installing gnobuntu on my sexy computer. [00:24] hmm. spoke too soon [00:24] guys - I need help. [00:25] some install errror - posting screenshot [00:25] here: http://i.imgur.com/4H6eqsX.jpg [00:26] I'm just trying to isntall gnobuntu... [00:26] I did dd if=iso.iso of=/dev/sdb [00:26] ^And I was trying to install from usb drive [00:29] here's another screenshot: https://cdn.mediacru.sh/DGObOxYW-667.jpg [00:31] no? nothing? :( [00:47] derek-g, what GPU do you have? [00:47] darkxst, intel Iris pro [00:48] ntel Iris Pro graphics 5200 [00:49] darkxst, maybe it;s some Bios toggles? hmm [00:49] derek-g, that might need a new kernel? [00:49] darkxst, Im on 14.04 xubuntu right now [00:50] hmm odd, that should be the same kernel [00:50] darkxst, I assume if xubuntu works - gnome version should too? [00:50] video was working on 13.10 as well - I was running xubuntu on 13.10 [00:50] darkxst, but I did reflashed bios a month ago... hmm.. [00:51] gonna reboot and look at bios [00:51] derek-g, you could try 14.10 [00:52] darkxst, um..... id rather stay on stable for now.:) === prth|away is now known as prth [00:53] even just test with the live cd [00:53] darkxst, it works in vitualbox on this computer even [00:54] derek-g, that is irrelevant, virtualbox has its own virtual GPU [00:55] darkxst, yeah. I thought so. [01:20] ls [01:28] Noskcaj, you may need to run the tests in autopkgtest (like I do with tracker, libmediaart etc) [01:46] ok, i'll do that. still playing dota === prth is now known as prth|away [02:24] darkxst, Any idea what's still missing? https://launchpadlibrarian.net/185326648/buildlog_ubuntu-utopic-amd64.gnome-weather_3.13.92-0ubuntu1~utopic5_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz [02:36] darkxst, naah. install didn't work for me. no idea why. [02:36] darkxst, seems like similar problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2231824 [02:43] im gonna try 14.04 instead of 14.04.01 [03:13] It seems like this person here is having exactly the same problem I'm having: http://askubuntu.com/questions/489178/kernal-panic-on-fresh-14-04-install-on-barebone-brix-pro-i5-4570r [03:14] And he's solving it by using different kernel somehow... [03:14] But how can I use a different kernel for a new install? [03:15] Noskcaj, for autopkgtests you leave the tests disable during package build [03:16] just turn of dh_auto_test? [03:16] Noskcaj, yep [03:16] ok [03:20] Noskcaj, you will need deps on gir1.2-geocodeglib-1.0 gir1.2-gnomedesktop-3.0 in debian/tests/control [03:20] ty [03:20] and you will need to test locally, since autopkgtests don't run on ppa builders [03:21] Noskcaj, http://packaging.ubuntu.com/html/auto-pkg-test.html [03:22] I probably lack the internet to do that, but i'll try it later [03:25] also other deps, that are only required for tests should go into debian/tests/control [04:25] darkxst, The one in ppa:noskcaj/build should be done, i don't think i'll be able to get the autopkgtest stuff ran locally [05:18] http://i.imgur.com/KO7xXgF.png Shadow's glitched on multiple applicatings, currently using [GNOME 3.12.3] on [Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS 32-bit]. Any solution? [05:42] Thanks for the help. [06:30] Noskcaj, tests are not passing [06:34] Noskcaj, it might require internet access ;( [06:57] Hi just switched from Win 8.1 to Ubuntu Gnome. I love it so far! I do however need some help. I want to disab [06:58] Disable the userlist on the lockscreen [06:58] Just to be clear not the user list at logon. I already disabled that [06:59] But the user list when i lock my laptop [07:00] Basically i do not want it to show my name when i lock and reprompt me for both username and password when i want to unlock [07:11] Anyone? [07:18] Either every one is asleep or no one wants to help. I will assume the former and try again tomorrow. [07:18] Bye now === prth is now known as prth|away [17:12] Hey.. gnome-music is missing git1.2-mediaart-1.0 dependency ... and have another problem regarding Gtk.IconTheme.get_default() http://paste.ubuntu.com/8389239/ === prth is now known as prth|away [17:54] l3on, thanks [20:48] Hi, I just switched from Windows 8.1 to Ubuntu Gnome. I asked this question earlier but I got no response so I am back. I want to ensure that when I lock my computer the lock screen does not display the username of the logged in user. To be clear I am not talking about the initial login screen. I have already changed the settings so that login requires both username and password to login. [20:48] But once I am logged in and lock the machine and then unlock it. It shows my username. I want it to re-prompt for the username. Any help wil be much appreciated. Thank you. === prth is now known as prth|away
