=== Prf_Jako1 is now known as Prf_Jakob === ara_ is now known as ara [19:25] Any idea if the following could be fixes before release ? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84298 and https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84203 [19:25] Freedesktop bug 84298 in Server/General "[present + prime] HDMI output (nouveau) broken" [Normal,New] [19:25] Freedesktop bug 84203 in Driver/nouveau "[NVC1] HDMI gives no more signal since 3.15 (optimus)" [Normal,New] [19:25] quite an annoying regression if you upgrade from 14.04 [19:26] needs patches first [19:29] 84203 can be fixed by reverting the commit [19:29] and other once can be fixed by disabling DRI3 when configuring xorg driver for intel [19:30] first you need to file bugs on lp [19:35] dupondje: consiidering it fixes things for other people you want to engage upstream first [19:35] especisally on the kernel [19:35] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1374607 [19:35] Launchpad bug 1374607 in linux (Ubuntu) "nouveau - HDMI gives no more signal since 3.15 (optimus)" [Undecided,New] [19:36] mlankhorst: true, but reverting is not a fix that upstream will do. They will really FIX it. But I guess not in time for Utopic release. [19:36] thats why I reported it upstream first :) [19:38] same with the other issue. Disabling DRI3 is not preferred ofc. But its the only way to have it working now [19:40] OR file bugs ssooner [19:40] well upgraded to utopic only recently [19:41] I wont die if its not fixed ofc :) [19:41] disabling dri3 breaks DRI_PRIME for example [19:43] reverting 975b9798be77b30cbed485583d0ccb48318708f7 is also an option [19:43] cant check now, can you subscribe me? [19:44] to upstream or bug I create on launchpad ? [19:44] lp\ [19:44] k [19:44] its indeed annoying there is no real fix for it. But just think its a quite annoying regression. [19:46] again I wish we'd have a rolling release between lts's ;) [19:48] vote++ :) [19:48] or just always :) [19:49] no we need lts [19:49] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1374618 [19:49] Launchpad bug 1374618 in xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) "[present + prime] HDMI output (nouveau) broken" [Undecided,New] [19:49] there [19:49] you can fork the rolling release at one moment, and create an lts out of it [20:01] that's not rolling release... means ready to release at any time.. [20:05] well no, create a fork, and make some changes to that fork so you can work on it for some months, and then release that as lts [20:05] but well :) thats another discussion :D
