AliveHello people.15:05
AliveI need some advice: package crda, when uninstalled from a Ubuntu 14.04 LTS causes a kernel panic. ( ie no complete boot-up just a frozen system with a stack trace on the screen ). package crda has a priority of optional noted in its control file. One would thus not expect a kernel panic after uninstalling it.15:06
AliveI am not sure where exactly to report this to the Ubuntu developers since https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs only talks about bug reports.15:06
AliveMost importantly I would like to know how to get a system back up and running from this state: Kernel Panic After Removing Package crda.15:07
tewardAlive: you'd still need to file a bug against the crda package15:08
tewardi'm not sure how to "fix" that though15:08
AliveHow/where do I file this kind of  bug ? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs is not very clear on this specific kind of thing. I mean its not like a software crash bug where you can report it via the Ubuntu bug reporter...15:10
tewardAlive: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Filing_bugs_at_Launchpad.net15:12
tewardkernel panic prevents you from getting extra debug info, but...15:12
AliveI have a photo of the screen with the stack trace .15:13
Aliveand the panic line15:13
Aliveteward, surely there should be a way to get the crda package files back on the system ? Like a kind of manual install super low level manual install.15:20
