[18:15] depends on the package [18:16] Also the traffic. [18:16] :) [18:16] ;) [18:16] 5 years. [18:16] Two months. [18:16] 2 days [18:17] Depends on the developers state of health also, he might have had an accident. [18:17] But usually not though. [18:17] I lodged a bug report against package crda [18:18] Is this one of those loooong waits. [18:18] Just because its important ? [18:18] hehee [18:19] its main, so chances are higher its not never [18:19] Yay ! [18:19] but you still often better of filing a bug upstream or in debian [18:19] unless its ubuntu specific [18:20] mmm [18:20] I doubt it is specific to ubuntu. [18:20] Package crda, when uninstalled from an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS system causes a kernel panic. [18:20] Package crda has a priority of optional noted in its control file. One would thus not expect a kernel panic after uninstalling it. [18:21] you should never have to expect kernel panics [18:22] Yeah well if it said a priority of totally important not optional, I would have felt dumber if I had a kernel panic. [18:22] if its reproducable you could check in ubuntu-kernel [18:22] they certainly need more information than is in the bug [18:22] hardware, stacktraces etc. [18:23] I only have a photo of the stack trace. [18:23] apport-collect bugnumber should provide some [18:23] And it should be easy to reproduce. [18:23] Just in-install crda. [18:23] :) [18:23] un-install. [18:23] if it happens may depend on the wireless hardware [18:24] Even if you disable all wireless hardware. [18:24] Still panics. [18:24] Wanna try ? [18:24] lol [18:25] as far as I can tell this package is not even a kernel module [18:25] maybe a kernel bug [18:25] check in -kernel if someone can reproduce it [18:26] #kernel ? [18:26] #ubuntu-kernel [18:27] Right will ask around. [18:37] Well I made channel #ubuntu-kernel go completely quiet. [18:37] jtaylor, do you have any system you could play with ? [18:38] The closest to reproducing this panic I got so far is: Running a live CD from a USB stick and uninstalling crda. Then the system freezes up, does not complete its boot, but no stack trace dump on the screen. [18:39] not now, also I can't help with that [18:40] I have a slow internet connection, its like being a retard. [18:41] Else I could quickly download the i386 live CD. [18:41] to play with. [18:41] on the other old laptop. [18:53] bye bye === Ursinha is now known as Ursinha-afk === Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha === roadmr is now known as roadmr_afk === Ursinha is now known as Ursinha-afk === Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha === mfisch is now known as Guest86318 === Ursinha is now known as Ursinha-afk === roadmr_afk is now known as roadmr === Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha === mfisch is now known as Guest49899
