keessay, is there an official mirror of the ubuntu kernels on github? I can't find one, and it'd be nice to have so pull requests would be easier to build. :)14:43
sforsheekees: I thought rtg had set some up at one time, not sure if they're still there though14:44
rtgkees, I've messed with git hub mirroring, but I don't keep it up to date14:45
rtghy would that make it easier ?14:45
rtgwhy*14:45
keesbecause then I could branch from the mirror on github, and my upload would only be my changes, instead of the entire history of the kernel. :)14:46
rtgkees, oh, duh.14:46
rtgright.14:46
kees(i'm complaining currently while waiting for my ubuntu-trusty push to upload to github)14:46
rtgkees, don't all google peeps have enormous pipes ?14:46
keesI guess, but I think it trips my "this is inefficient" flag in my head. :)14:47
keesthough, if I'm the only person asking for it, probably you don't need to spend the time to make it available. :)14:47
rtgkees, did you note that I picked up the seccomp patches for Utopic ?14:47
rtgone of them needed a little backport. you should check that I got it right.14:48
keesrtg: I did! Thank you very much!14:48
keesyeah, to 3.16 isn't bad. to 3.14 (Chrome OS) and 3.13 (Trusty) is more tricky14:48
keesless and less existing infrastructure is available14:48
keesI will pull that. what needed fiddling?14:48
rtgchecking...14:49
rtgkees, 'sched: move no_new_privs into new atomic flags'14:49
keesah! yes, due to AA changes not in upstream. :)14:50
keesI hit that too.14:50
rtgI think it was this bit:14:50
rtg        if (!(bprm->file->f_path.mnt->mnt_flags & MNT_NOSUID) &&14:51
rtg-           !current->no_new_privs &&14:51
rtg+           !task_no_new_privs(current) &&14:51
keesseems fine, yeah.14:51
rtgkees, yeah, I'm always hammering on that jjohansen guy to get his bits upstream14:51
keesanyway, as you may suspect, I've got seccomp-tsync backported to Trusty. Trying to build a pull request now... :)14:51
rtgkees, cool. are you going to plumbers ?14:52
keesI won't be there, but I'm sure there will be other googlers wandering around.14:52
rtgbummer14:52
keesI'm travelled-out. I wasn't home for most of August, and it suuucked14:53
apwdoing an "rtg"14:53
rtgI'm in London this week, Dusseldorf next, and DC the following week.14:53
keeshaha yikes14:54
keesI'd love to see London again14:54
apwkees, "come on down"14:54
rtgyou'd like the new office14:54
keesyeah, I never saw it. all my imaginings of ubuntu london are in millbank still :)14:55
apwkees, allll wrong ...14:56
amitkrtg: anything can beat millbank?14:56
rtgamitk, its a nicer locale. lots of restaurants and the Borough market nearby14:59
keesno more police with assault rifles?15:05
rtgnot recently15:06
keesapw: "narp"? that's new! it's like "nack" meets "arp"? sorry about the bad git uri, though. :P16:39
amitksee you all in dusseldorf next week, good night16:57

melodieI had the kernel 3.2.0-69 in Ubuntu Precise a machine having these specs, and the machine instead of performing a shutdown, was rebooting (had a dual boot with Windows XP - needed for some tests, and XP after update didn't reboot when shutdown - then today I updated with the newer kernel 3.2.0-70 : does someone know if it was a known bug and was adressed?18:33
