[09:15] good thanks - vanquished vampire all set up with xubuntu ppa's I need [09:15] ready for vbox to fail in testing again lol [09:16] 15.04? Didn't it have a different codename? [09:16] yea - but I prefer mine :p [09:16] vivid vervet [09:16] True, true :P [09:18] I'm having to start early on my name for 16.04 - I'll be looking at some triple X alliteration for that :D [10:46] Hi [10:51] hi vitimiti [10:51] Hi, elfy [10:57] Hey vitimiti, how are you? [10:57] Good, lordievader [12:24] Hiyas all [14:23] that's odd [14:23] update-manager -c and do-release-upgrade do nothing. [14:24] oh, I'm set to notify on LTS [14:26] ok, now update-manager does nothing, but do-release-upgrade works [18:46] so i don't suppose this is the appropriate place for utopic questions anymore is it? [18:46] correct this is for V [18:47] I can't even remember what V is yet [18:47] ah yes, Vivid [18:48] ok. the discussion level on #ubuntu itself is a bit low this morning ;) [18:49] spose I shouldn't complain. I think I'll wait a bit longer in the release cycle before trying vivid though. [18:53] there's nothing available for vivid yet [18:53] BluesKaj: There are daily iso's ;) [18:53] lordievader, not yet [18:54] but you can use vivid - I have been since yesterday, vivid dailies might get turned on tomorrow [18:54] BluesKaj: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/vivid/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ there is a mini iso. [18:55] But yeah, not the full iso. [18:55] I sed'd my sources.list but nothing [18:55] really? [18:55] I've had a bunch of updates since yesterday [18:57] is there a vivid roadmap/feature list yet? [18:57] no [18:58] though there has been talk of systemd default by mid-cycle [18:58] * slyrus hopes he's done wrangling systemd by the time vivid ships [18:58] oops I was using vervet in sources instead of vivid...faceplams :) [19:00] oh... I guess I was just confused by the /lib/systemd stuff in utopic and figured it was already on. no wonder I'm having trouble. [19:02] BluesKaj: ha :) I actually put vampire ... [19:02] slyrus: you can boot with systemd - but it's not default, there ARE packages installed however [19:03] hrm... Ok. I guess I'm booting with init and just confused by the presence of the systemd bits. time to RTFMs I guess. [19:03] systemd was working on 14.10 here , but decided to revert jusr to keep things safe for now [19:04] append init=/lib/systemd/systemd to the linux line by editing at grub and you'll boot one time, change it in grub default and upgrade and it will boot with it all the time [19:04] BluesKaj: yea - I was off and on during 14.10 but will stick with systemd in here for the time being [19:05] I might edit grub to run systemd at startup, but not yet [19:17] Why is mtp moved to universe? I can no longer connect my phone on a fresh Ubuntu install (14.10) [19:18] labsin, ask in #ubuntu [19:19] ow 14.10 got released [19:19] yup [19:21] I upgraded to 14.10 [19:21] now, when I tap Activities in the top-left on Gnome, the computer freezes for 2-3 seconds before responding. [19:25] this chat is officially support for 15.04 afaik, probly best to ask in #ubuntu, Bluefoxicy [19:26] oh [19:26] ok, other stuff to do...laters [19:26] what the heck is a verrvet [19:26] a monkey [19:26] :) [19:26] ok done === JanC is now known as Guest64516 === JanC_ is now known as JanC [20:14] Hi [20:17] hey welcome back vitimiti :) [20:17] Thanks, elfy
