geniiBah. sudo debootstrap --arch=armhf --variant=minbase --foreign trusty /mnt/ubuntu http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu results in: E: Couldn't download dists/trusty/main/binary-armhf/Packages   ... If I want debootstrap a minimal armhf from an amd64 box, is there something special I should be doing? This syntax I'm using works under Debian14:28
geniiAh, needed to omit the URL14:36
ogra_you shoudl eb using qemu-debootstrap14:36
ogra_not debootstrap14:36
ogra_and omit --foreign14:37
geniiogra_: Interestingly it seems to have completed without complaint now, after I removed the ubuntu.com URL. I should use qemu-debootstrap even if this is to be used on a native ARM device?14:41
ogra_yes14:43
ogra_it just does the right thing14:43
ogra_and you dont need all the foreign mess14:43
geniiogra_: OK, thanks!14:44
ogra_(you will get a properly usable rootfs directly without having to do the second steps on device later=14:44
geniiRe-doing it now with qemu-debootstrap14:47
geniiComplained about keyring this time but seems to be continuing14:48
