pittiGood morning04:43
pittidkessel: actually no; it's much easier to run autopilot3-sandbox-run, that does all the setup04:44
dkesselpitti: OK thanks07:08
pittijibel: http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/proposed-migration/update_excuses.html#dpkg is weird -- cuneiform has been "in progress" for days, but jenkins is done with it; I retried it two times, and also tried to hand-edit history on snakefruit (doesn't help, always gets reset)07:52
jibelpitti, looking07:54
pittijibel: also, I got autopkgtests under control last week (lots of fun untangling vivid :) ); I think we can re-enable notifications now, but I still don't have access to tachash to do that myself :/08:01
jibelpitti, okay, I'll do it.08:02
pittijibel: merci! (and sorry for pwning you first time in the morning :/)08:02
jibelpitti, something odd happened with cuneiform, I cannot find any results08:02
jibelon snakefruit08:03
pittijibel: the results look ok to me in the jenkins artifacts; is that something specific to that package, or was there perhaps a glitch on one of the machines?08:21
jibelpitti, I fixed cuneiform, php-horde-javascriptminify-jsmin, php-horde-text-filter-jsmin and r-cran-surveillance by regerenating fake result files that exactly matches the versions in the state file on snakefruit. But I cannot track the cause of the problem because I cannot find the result files on snakefruit that failed to match originally.08:40
pittijibel: argh, thanks!08:41
pittiI'll look at r-cran-spatstat, that causes havoc (huge logs and failure)08:42
elfyballoons: any idea when the trackers aren't going to 403? been rather a long time now12:47
knomeelfy, judging on the issue, somebody has to set up the drupal installation as well as the modules again... i'd imagine not a lot of people are comfortable doing that; especially considering there is some customish configuration as well as the data migration to do...13:23
balloonselfy, it's going to be a bit13:25
knomelazy IS :P13:28
* balloons is using a desktop pc again for the first time in weeks13:30

gQuigsanyone know how to get the whoopsie identifier for a user from the CL?16:13
gQuigsyou can get it from the gui by going Dash -> Security & Privacy | Diagnostics -> Show Previous Error Reports16:13
gQuigs(you can get it using C like this- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sosreport/+bug/1319160/comments/2)16:13
ubot5Ubuntu bug 1319160 in sosreport (Ubuntu) "Collect /var/crash info or the users personal crash key" [Medium,Triaged]16:13
balloonsgQuigs, so you want an easy way to grab the id through a simple cli command?16:38
gQuigsballoons: yup, to collect for a sos report16:40
gQuigs(collection of logs/config to help debug problems)16:42
balloonsI don't know offhand, but you could ask bdmurray or ev if such a thing existed16:43

bdmurraygQuigs: see /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id16:58
bdmurraygQuigs: available starting in utopic16:58

wxlum, packages doesn't have a vivid section. that's not normal either, is it?18:49
balloonsnice.. not yet anyway19:01
wxlok :)19:01
elfyI can't even see it - how do you not it's not got vivid?19:10
wxlthat's what i mean. it's not listed19:10
elfymmm19:10
elfythat's NOT what I mean :)19:10
wxlwhat are you saying?19:10
elfyI mean how do you know what packages has - it's still 403ing here :)19:11
elfyand it should have at least Xubuntu on it already :)19:11
wxlhttp://packages.ubuntu.com/vivid/19:11
elfyohhh - I just assumed this being the quality channel we'd be talking about the trackers being down still :p19:12
wxlyeah well there's that too19:16
wxli was just surprised and since we had been talking about the tracker previously i didn't know if these were somehow related19:16
balloonsI have a tracker update actually speaking of which19:17
wxloh19:17
* wxl claps merrily19:17
balloonsshould I tell you elfy before the rest of the list?19:17
elfynah19:17
elfyI can lose the plot anywhere :D19:17
elfyballoons: so is good news then?19:19
balloonselfy, you'll have to read the mail19:21
wxlwell19:22
wxlthat's news19:22
elfyballoons: so in the meantime is anything being done with making the trackers more usable this cycle?19:23
balloonselfy, there's news on that front also19:24
* balloons pokes dkessel 19:24
balloonsin addition to dkessel's fixes for the code, I'm working on making it charmable so it's easier to deploy19:26
balloonson top of all of that elfy there's a session at UOS on manual testing; specifically something the canonical QA team is trialing out19:26
wxlneat19:27
balloonsso lots of chat about next week. Any specific session you'd like to have wxl, elfy or anyone else?19:27
balloonsNeed to put together the schedule19:27
wxlnone that i can think of off hand19:28
wxli was thinking about doing a general update on lubuntu since we're going through some major changes, but that's not necessarily specifically about quality19:28
balloonssure.. you should. if possible all flavors should have a general session sharing what's going on imho19:28
wxlagreed, though sometimes its less exciting than other times :)19:29
elfywell we (Xubuntu) have tried a few times with UOS/UDS and didn't get very much from it19:30
wxlelfy: meaning you didn't have many participants?19:31
elfyno - just didn't work for us - so we don't do it anymore19:31
elfyballoons: well I can't say whether or not charmable will make any difference to the basic usablility of the trackers19:33
elfyall I really want to see is that we can get sensible reporting from it19:33
elfyand would really really like to be able to look at image history without waiting 5 minutes19:34
dkesselballoons: ouch19:34
=== roadmr is now known as roadmr_afk
balloonsdkessel, :-)19:36
balloonsif I remember correctly we need to land some fixes for the tracker you had prepped19:36
dkesselOh yes :)19:36
balloonselfy, your history bug is something dkessel fixed actually19:36
balloonsjust need to test it19:36
dkesselYup19:37
elfyballoons: when is this QA manual session?19:39
elfynot on the site that I can see19:39
balloonselfy, I need to schedule it, I was in the middle of it when we started conversering19:40
elfyaah okey dokey :)19:40
robotfuelelopio: will you review this simple MP for me?19:40
robotfuelelopio: https://code.launchpad.net/~chris.gagnon/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/fix-bug-1388896/+merge/24049619:40
* balloons has to twist arms (I mean ask people nicely) to host19:40
elopiorobotfuel: I will make it when I finish the meeting.19:55
Letozaf_balloons, hi20:07
elfyevening Letozaf_20:08
Letozaf_elfy, evening to you :)20:08
Letozaf_elfy, howzit ?20:08
elfyall good thanks :)20:08
elfyyou?20:08
Letozaf_elfy, fine thanks :)20:08
balloonsLetozaf_, hello20:09
Letozaf_balloons, is there a way to launch autopilot launch and vis on the device ?20:10
Letozaf_balloons, I need it for filemanager20:10
balloonsLetozaf_, let's take this to #autopilot20:10
wxlelfy: stupid question of the day— xubuntu does use lightdm right?20:10
Letozaf_balloons, ok20:10
elfyyep20:10
wxlcool thx20:11
* wxl goes back to triage ._.20:11
balloonsLetozaf_, btw I asked andrea to look at it as well. As we spoke about I think it might be useful to have him work on it with you20:11
balloonsso you can coach him through things20:11
Letozaf_balloons, ok fine I will contact him...20:12
balloonsLetozaf_, doug5 might be here now?20:13
doug5yep, I'm here. I'm trying to run the test cases20:14
Letozaf_doug5, ohhh forgot your nik :(20:15
Letozaf_doug5, hello :-P20:15
doug5Letozaf_, helloooo :)20:15
elopiorobotfuel: I don't get why are you updating the expected value. I ran your test and got: testtools.matchers._impl.MismatchError: 'No interaction allowed' != ''20:16
Letozaf_doug5, if you have any issued just ask me :-P20:16
elopiorobotfuel: can it be different on the phone?20:16
robotfuelelopio: thats the .text property20:17
robotfuelelopio: it's failing on the dashboard for both n4 and krillin, I didn't check the desktop20:17
robotfuelelopio: http://ci.ubuntu.com/smokeng/utopic/touch_stable/mako/117:20141031:20141017.2/11188/ubuntuuitoolkit/1878696/20:19
robotfuelelopio: the same as the krillin bug report ^20:20
elopiorobotfuel: in these cases, it's useful when you attach the screenshot to the reported bug.20:20
robotfuelis there an easy way to get the screenshot from the subunit file?20:21
robotfuelelopio: ^20:21
elopiorobotfuel: install trv. There is a link to the instructions on the blueprint.20:21
elopiohum, wait, I think you can't extract it yet.20:21
elopioyou can take a screenshot of trv, or use subunitdetails.20:22
elopiohttps://github.com/cgoldberg/subunitdetails20:22
robotfuelelopio: it has a screenshot now20:34
elopiothanks robotfuel. That is different on vivid desktop. I would ask zsombi or timp, but it's already late for them.20:38
elopiorobotfuel: please remember to link the things to the blueprint and use the tags.20:39
elopiothat's how others can find if somebody is already working on failures.20:39
robotfuelelopio: I linked the bug in the blueprint. I didn't know about the tags20:40
robotfuelelopio: I see it now though so I will update20:40
elopioright, I was looking at a different place.20:40
elopiothanks man.20:40
balloonsdoug5, so Letozaf_ and I are chatting about getting fm going in #ubuntu-autopilot, heh. You'll need to build the app after your check it out as well20:42
robotfuelelopio: I see I can link both branches and bugs.. so I did that20:42
elopiorobotfuel: yes, thanks20:42
balloonsso bzr branch lp:ubuntu-filemanager-app, cd ubuntu-filemanager-app, cmake ., make, cd test/autopilot, autopilot3 list filemanager, autopilot3 run -v filemanager.20:42
balloonsprovided you have all the depends, that should work. you can install what is needed by looking in debian/control20:43
doug5building...20:43
* Letozaf_ is building too :P20:44
balloonsLetozaf_, also noticed there are 2 UI layouts. you can pass -p to get the phone layout, and -t to get tablet20:44
Letozaf_balloons, great thanks20:44
Letozaf_balloons, is it autopilot3 launch -i Qt qmlscene ../../src/app/qml/filemanager.qml -p  ?20:46
Letozaf_balloons, from tests/autopilot ?20:46
Letozaf_balloons, because I get an error20:46
Letozaf_no wait...20:48
Letozaf_balloons, do I have to launch the binary and not the qml ?20:48
balloonsLetozaf_, yep, launch the binary20:49
Letozaf_balloons, so is it  autopilot3 launch ../../src/app/filemanager ? as I still got problems20:51
Letozaf_ile:///home/letozaf/autopilot-tests/ubuntu-filemanager-app/src/app/qml/filemanager.qml:147:9: Type FolderListPage unavailable20:52
=== roadmr_afk is now known as roadmr
balloonsLetozaf_, that sounds betteryes20:52
balloonsLetozaf_, btw, feel free to update the readme with this info when you commit :-)20:53
Letozaf_balloons, ok :) but look here: http://paste.ubuntu.com/8808105/20:53
balloonsLetozaf_, I just tried also. I'm sure I got the same errors as you20:54
Letozaf_balloons, fiew!20:54
* Letozaf_ is feeling a bit better :P20:54
* balloons tries something20:55
doug5I guess I miss some dependencies instead http://paste.ubuntu.com/8808127/20:56
balloonsdoug5, yes.. qtdeclarative5-placesmodel0.1, and qtdeclarative5-nemo-qml-plugin-folderlistmodel,20:56
balloonsthe full  list is qtdeclarative5-nemo-qml-plugin-folderlistmodel qtdeclarative5-placesmodel0.1 qtdeclarative5-pamauthentication0.1 qtdeclarative5-qtquick2-plugin qtdeclarative5-u1db1.0 qtdeclarative5-ubuntu-ui-toolkit-plugin qtdeclarative5-ubuntu-content0.120:57
doug5do I have to setup a specific ppa?20:59
balloonsdoug5, are you on utopic or trusty?21:01
doug5utopic21:02
balloonsdoug5, Letozaf_ the dev is on IRC as ajalkane. I'm confused why the app doesn't seem to build cleanly in qtcreator, and what Letozaf_ and I are missing21:03
balloonsdoug5, k that's good. Do some of those depends come back as missing for you?21:04
Letozaf_balloons, ok I will follow your chat with ajalkane21:04
doug5balloons, yes qtdeclarative5-placesmodel0.1 for example21:06
balloonsdoug5, that's built inside the project.21:06
balloonsI'm curious if the project itself needs some cleanup on depends.. the pamauth plugin is in project too21:07
balloonsas is the folderlistmodel plugin21:07
balloonsSorry about this. I just messed with these tests a few weeks ago. I thought it would be a good thing to practice21:07
balloonsI'm not sure how building got some confusing21:08
balloons*so confusing21:08
Letozaf_balloons, no problem, we are testers, so we are used to these things :--P21:08
balloonsLetozaf_, I removed local versions of the depends as he suggested21:12
Letozaf_balloons, is it working now ?21:13
balloonsLetozaf_, now I get what doug5 is seeing21:13
Letozaf_balloons, by the way I am on Vivid but I suppose it's not so different from Utopic21:18
balloonsLetozaf_, ahh right, more or less the same atm21:18
balloonsso Letozaf_ doug5 I built it by using qtcreator after downloading, then running the binary in the build directory21:20
balloonsit builds out of tree21:20
doug5ok, let me try21:20
Letozaf_balloons, so I will have to use qtcreator and not cmake and make right ?21:22
balloonsI opened the cmakelists.txt file and I had to select desktop21:22
balloonsLetozaf_, yea for now, something is off with doing it any other way21:22
Letozaf_balloons, ok, means I will have to learn to use qtcreator :P21:22
balloonsLetozaf_, lol, it's pretty painless to just build with21:23
Letozaf_balloons, :)21:23
balloonsthe tests seem to work and run also.. whew21:23
doug5balloons, how did you run the tests inside the build directory?21:24
balloonsdoug5, i didn't. I went to the dir I branched in21:24
balloonsthe tests are setup to look for the out of tree build21:24
balloonsso it expects a binary out there21:25
balloonswhew, ok funzies21:25
* Letozaf_ is building with qtcreator \o/21:26
Letozaf_balloons, ok I built it. but now should I run autopilot3 launch filemanager or what ?21:27
balloonsLetozaf_, yep that should work now21:30
Letozaf_balloons, yes its working21:30
balloonsso doug5 Letozaf_ is using autopilot vis to explore the dbus tree of the application21:30
Letozaf_balloons, but I suppose the -p does not work21:30
balloonsLetozaf_, yea, asking ajaklane about it21:39
Letozaf_balloons, ok thanks21:40
doug6balloons, see you tomorrow21:41
Letozaf_balloons, I might go to bed now... do you mind if I come back tomorrow on this ?21:52
elopionuclearbob: can you please give me the link to app startup tests?21:56
Letozaf_balloons, see you tomorrow :) going to bed, goodnight.21:56
