[00:04] Hi. Is there any ready-to-install version (like a live cd or dvd) of Ubuntustudio with another DE? Like Gnome-Shell or elementary, or KDE, or... [00:04] I mean Ubuntustudio 14.04 [00:09] Is there any ready-to-install version (like a live cd or dvd) of Ubuntustudio 14.04with another DE? Like Gnome-Shell or elementary, or KDE, or.. [00:40] zacarias: No, nothing live at this time. It is certainly possible to install the ubuntustudio metas on top of these other DEs though. This machine has sStudio installed on top of Kubuntu for example [00:42] zacarias: The first thing is to make sure you have the DE of choice working as you like. Install the metas you want (ubuntustudio-installer can help) [00:44] There are two more steps, Make sure the user is in the audio group and make sure that /etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf does not have a .disabled on the end of it. [00:46] This will not change your desktop backgrounds or anything like that, just add the Studio applications for whichever workflow you install. [01:16] Hi, I was told to come here for Wacom tablet support in 14.04 [01:17] Does anyone here know how to get it working in Gimp? [01:18] Followed these instructions, but its not working: http://meandthecomputer.blogspot.com/2010/12/gimp-how-to-enable-wacom-pen-tablet.html [01:25] zequence: sure [06:52] hi [12:40] hi there [12:41] I'm thinking about using ubuntu studio for video editing [12:42] the computer that holds all the video data is ony running winows for now and I'd prefer to not dual boot it [12:46] so I was wondering whether there were some instructions on how to persist configuration settings on usb live media [12:46] or possibly ways of installing it to a usb disk [12:47] the latter would probably make it easier to customize the install and add software [12:56] unetbootin has a very easy persistence slider in the installer window. i would suggest a 16 to 32GB USB stick for Studio install [12:58] if you're going to install all of studio. you might be able to use an 8GB if you're only going to install the video portion [12:59] 16GB would be better [21:07] Hello [21:07] is it possible to use chrome's adobe flash plugin with firefox? [21:09] currently, firefox's about:plugins shows me that vlc is handling .swf objects [21:23] how do i choose which swf plugin to use in firefox?
