nvt_is there a way to get some sort of "toolbar" in xubuntu where I could put some links to documents next to the system tray13:47
GrinchCubejust add a launcher to it, add an empty launcher, add something like "exo-open /path/to/file.extension" and thats all you need13:49
GrinchCubeit will open with its designated default application13:49
knomeor use the places applet if you want to link to all files in a certain directory13:49
GrinchCubeyou can make a launcher into a sort of menu too, and add a bunch of launcher to it13:50
nvt_I would like to have a quick access "toolbar" similar in windows next to the start menu :). so I assume GrinchCube 's solution seems fine13:50
nvt_afa I can add multiple icons next to each other13:50
knomeyou can even add them in a dropdown menu13:51
knome(even without the places applet)13:51
knomejust create one launcher and add multiple items to it13:51
nvt_that's not quick access then anymore, >= two clicks with mouse ;)13:51
knomesure, whatever works for you13:51
nvt_thanks :)13:51
knomejust pointing out the different options, if somebody else was wondering about the same thing13:52
nvt_yep, no problem13:52
knome(or if that would have happened to be the thing you were looking for :))13:52
xubuntu22wI have no sound issue. where to ask? where to go?13:56
knomeyou can ask the question here and if somebody knows the answer, they'll most likely reply13:57

ubottuxubuntu22w: If you're having problems with sound, click the Volume applet, then Sound Preferences, and check your Volume, Hardware, Input, and Output settings.  If that fails, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Sound - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting - http://alsa.opensrc.org/DmixPlugin - For playing audio files,  see !players and !mp3.13:57
