n0p_q00:51
=== n0p_ is now known as n0p
n0phmm, either quite sunday or I'm in some ghost/split room00:59
n0ps/quite/quiet00:59
_stink_yeah quiet i guess01:01
rick_h_n0p: ssshhh02:16
cmaloneyEvening02:42
cmaloneyJust quiet today02:42
cmaloneyGood morning14:35
brousch_yes14:38
_stink_yo14:40
brousch_The smor*gas*bord is up at work14:51
brousch_sausages, cheese dip, etc14:51
_stink_mmmmm14:52
cmaloneyCool deal14:52
brousch_I think this is venison sausage14:53
cmaloneyDoes it taste like Bambi?14:55
_stink_yes, like sadness14:55
brousch_indeed15:05
brousch_I was talking to my son about hunting. He said he would not hunt rabbits, but was fine with killing and skinning deer15:05
brousch_This is the kid who thought chicken nuggets were made by chickens in a factory15:06
_stink_deer are terrible horrible souls15:06
rick_h_morning15:16
cmaloneyrick_h_: How's the wing?15:18
rick_h_ok, frustrating at this point15:18
rick_h_but have the sling off working on the computer typing two handed for a bit today15:18
rick_h_so hopefully get some stuff done15:19
cmaloneyGoing slower than you wanted?15:19
rick_h_but off until after new years and had big woodworking plans that are crushed15:19
rick_h_no, I knew it'd be slow15:19
rick_h_and each day I can move it a little more than the day before15:19
rick_h_but just after more than a week of being 'helpless' it gets grating15:19
rick_h_1lb weight limit, can't raise the arm more than 15ish degress from the side15:20
cmaloneyUgh15:20
rick_h_still have strips holding holes together itching for 10 days15:20
rick_h_so just grumbly15:20
rick_h_but hey, everyone is away and I'm finally getting the apple laptop setup and going through pics long over due15:20
rick_h_and the plan is to finally release bookie extensions later today15:20
rick_h_so brousch_'s stuff will work :)15:21
brousch_Did you find the breakage? I wasn't much help15:21
cmaloneyHeh15:22
rick_h_brousch_: yea, your url is the old one15:22
rick_h_brousch_: I replied last night15:22
brousch_rick_h_: What are you setting up on the Apple laptop?15:39
rick_h_brousch_: I just haven't opened it in a while so going through photos from back in Oct-now15:49
rick_h_and still need to upgrade to latest osx at some point on here15:49
rick_h_but I moved things aroud with the walking desk so need to reset up the laptop/monitor/etc15:49
rick_h_got a BT thinkpad with trackpoint keyboard for using with it now and such15:50
brousch_Does the low resolution bug you?15:50
rick_h_yea, so I almost always have it docked to a dell 24" ultrasharp15:50
brousch_heh15:50
rick_h_the 11" is crappy for photos and most stuff15:50
rick_h_crappy for most stuff in general, wish I'd gone 1315:50
brousch_I love the idea of these 11.6" laptops, but the resolution keeps me from getting one. I never dock it15:52
rick_h_well what's so bad is that the 11" should be a 12.5 but they put a huge border aroud the screen15:55
rick_h_so this could be a great little laptop resolution-wise15:55
rick_h_they intentionally killed it down to keep the 11 vs the 1315:55
cmaloneyProbably to keep the cost down as well15:55
cmaloneyiirc when it was introduced it was trying to compete against other ultrabooks15:55
brousch_The non-user-replacable SSDs in the Apple 13"ers also stops me. It would cost $1500 for a refurb version of what I need. I can get a Lenovo and do my own upgrades for under $100015:55
cmaloneysadly the Macbook is comparable to Chromebooks at this point15:56
cmaloneyas far as repairability15:56
brousch_I can put a new SSD in my Acer c720 chromebooks ;)15:57
brousch_CPU is too weak in them15:58
cmaloneyThat too15:59
brousch_For Apple, I could drop back to the pre-retinas and do the RAM/SSD upgrade, but 1280x800 is crap15:59
rick_h_yea, fortunately thunderbolt + dell ultrasharps help the display part16:05
rick_h_external keyboards fix the keyboard16:05
rick_h_so now just stuck with the sub-par cpu16:06
cmaloneyWhich is something Mac users should be used to if they've been using machines since the Power days. ;)16:32
brousch_Lovely. virus in a word doc gets passed yahoo, gmail, ms security essentials and malwarebytes17:08
rick_h_boom17:09
rick_h_mutt never lets you down17:09
brousch_It was caught because we don't run anyone as admin and it started asking for admin permissions17:09
rick_h_that's good17:10
brousch_Well the user downloaded it and opened it. Mutt would not help with that17:10
rick_h_if the user couldn't figure out how to open it :P17:10
brousch_That's what we get for upgrading to Word 2013 from Word 9717:16
cmaloneyhttp://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=After_Dark_%28software%29&diff=638464516&oldid=prev17:54
brousch_OK, more on the virus. It's a Word macro virus. You have to open the doc, click 'Enable Editing' on the warning, then click 'Enable Content' on the second warning. Then it downloads the virus and tries to install it18:25
brousch_Time to slap a user upside the head18:25
_stink_yes18:25
rick_h_or move them to the QA team18:26
brousch_The contents of the document tell you what you need to do to activate the virus. Of course it doesn't say virus, it just looks like instructions from MS18:32
rick_h_"please turn off your 'secure me' box so that we may investigate your newly recent hackings"18:32
brousch_Actually quite well done https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7chc5fy1mcks41q/AACepg-GRS7N60jJE0StgN_Sa?dl=018:36
brousch_OK, this is MS's fault. You have to exnable editing to print a document18:41
brousch_enable18:42
cmaloneyNice.18:54
cmaloneyAnd just a little social engineering activates it.18:55
brousch_And the Enable Editing message comes up on more than half of documents. apparently if it's not in the newest docx format you get that message, so users are used to clicking it19:01
brousch_I think the Enable Content step is the bad one19:01
derekvand suddenly, named stops forwarding.  no errors or nothing22:13
cmaloney?22:24
derekvmy ancient bind8 deamon isn't doing it's job22:25
derekvso i'm upgrading to bind10 begrudgingly, rather then spend lots of time trying to debug something that's long out of date anyways22:25
derekvseems like all the static site generators I look at put the articles in the same repo as the code22:27
derekvmy impulse is to want the content in a separate repo from the code that renders it to html22:28
