[20:50] yes, new to lubuntu and have some gerneric q's. I'm running 14.04 and i cannot access my desktop pager settings. It always shows an error message and i cannot access it [20:51] ah that is a known bug to get around that go to the lxde menu prefrences and openbox configuration manager and click on the desktop tab [20:51] it will take you to where that should take you but is broken [20:53] ok, i am seeing it now. is there now way to change the size/length of the pager panel? [20:55] * ianorlin doesn't know of a way to do that [20:55] I think it stays same size as icons on panel [20:55] although it can get a bit wide in multimonitor setups [20:56] yes, i have multip moitors so it is the equivalant of 6 icons [20:56] oh well [20:56] ah yeah espically if they are side by side [20:57] yes, but the panel stretches across both so still plenty of real estate, just trying to clean things up a bit [20:57] although you don't technically need a pager if you use keyboard shortcuts of control alt left and contorl alt right to switch [20:57] where can i find desktop sharing settings on my lubuntu? [21:42] hello, I tried to install lubuntu an a old pentium 4. The installation progress until grub should be installed [21:44] but that allways fails with some error (not specified) [21:44] aison what happens then? [21:44] which isntaller are you using and did you check the md5sum? [21:44] the console installer [21:45] can you boot that disk up again and run the self test at the menu at the start [21:45] maybe I should create the boot usb stick again? [21:45] check if it is good first [21:46] !md5sum [21:46] To verify your Ubuntu ISO image (or other files for which an MD5 checksum is provided), see http://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM or http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/answers/LQ_ISO/Checking_the_md5sum_in_Windows [21:49] ok [21:49] did the self test work? [21:59] working on it :P [22:06] hmm [22:07] I guess md5sum lubuntu.iso and md5sum /dev/sdh should be equal after [22:07] dd if=lubuntu.iso of=/dev/sdh [22:07] or not? [23:28] when I boot now I end up in initramfs) console [23:29] during installation the harddrive was /dev/sdf [23:29] now it is /dev/sda [23:29] can I fix this somehow from initramfs console?
