[04:02] <nutin> I'm running kernel 3.16.0-28-generic on xubuntu, with a RealTek RTL8188EE wireless card. It appears that a bugfix for slow speeds with that card was accepted into the 3.18 kernel. Is there any recommended way to run a newer kernel than what ships with xubuntu? Thanks.

[09:22] <apw> nutin (N,BFTL), no official version updates for 14.10 which I assume you are running from your version string, bug filing a bug with the info you have might get the fix back to v3.16
