[21:52] A ThinkPad. But I really don't know myself. [21:52] yea, i have the lenovo t series [21:55] i hate trying to reocmmend stuff to a friend [21:56] XPS13 is great [21:56] A+ can highly recommend [21:56] I got one, and now ~5 or so folks have got them since [21:56] that's the dell ? [21:57] are the drivers all open source or pacakged for linux atleast? [21:57] It's paultag, what do you think? :P [21:57] Iadore it [21:58] oh oh OH [21:58] http://dell.com/ubuntu [21:58] [ XPS 13 Developer Edition | Dell ] - https://j.mp/1KqpsGe [21:58] dzho: IO! [21:58] yea, i admit, i don't know paul :( or any of you guys really [21:58] wait a few days for the new version to drop [21:58] we all heard the Thinkpads got THEIR BUTTONS BACK right?! [21:58] yeah, these ship with F/OSS [21:58] the spec on those dells hasn't changed in approximately forever, has it? [21:59] It just changed two days ago [21:59] andygraybeal: Heh, that's fine, yettiman! ;) He's a big FSF fan. :) [21:59] and it's been updated a few times dzho [21:59] yettiman?? [21:59] also, haha, 12.04 [21:59] 14.04 on the new version [21:59] erm, 14.10 [21:59] eww, one wants LTS [22:00] ain't nobody got time for short support cycles [22:00] andygraybeal: I use that in a good sense. Last pic I saw, you were big, lots of hair, and your kid strapped to you. [22:00] aaah yes!! [22:00] nothing has changed, i live in the woods [22:00] \o/ [22:01] i'm fairly short, but well stocked :) [22:01] Oh? Hmm. [22:01] not muscle i assure you [22:01] Hah. :P [22:01] How tall? [22:01] 5'6" [22:01] on a good day [22:01] Oh. [22:02] I aftermarket installed 160GB SSD on this thinkpad twist a while back, and feel very constrained by it. [22:02] dzho, constrained space-wise? [22:02] yup [22:02] speed is nice though,eh? [22:02] the speed is fine [22:02] mostly the battery has a useful lifetime without me having to tweak it six ways from sunday [22:03] not the massive use times I hear about from others but it works for me [22:03] the lenovos also have this Power Bridge thing going on. [22:03] two batteries, so you can change one on the fly [22:04] one is built in non-field-replaceable. [22:04] so, it gets charged first and used last, so it's always good to go. [22:04] I don't have that, but it sounds good. [22:05] thanks for the thoughts guys. i sent off an email to my friend. [22:10] so this multiarch thing took my by surprise :) [22:10] it's been around since 12.04 ? [22:10] i just found out about it this past week [22:10] i feel awesome. [22:11] andygraybeal: welcome to my version of the cutting edge http://xkcd.com/606/ [22:11] [ xkcd: Cutting Edge ] - http://xkcd.com [22:11] ;-) [22:11] I don't even remember if I've started Portal 2. [22:11] I totally haven't finished it. [22:11] nor Half-Life [22:11] (Half-Life 2 I guess) [22:12] haha nice [22:12] as for multi-arch, apparently Debian-based and Redhat-based handle it differently. [22:12] grr. [22:12] I think I found a multi-arch bug in gforth [22:13] haven't been motivated enough to figure out if there's a fix in a newer version, document what I've found, try to find a fix, yadda yadda. [22:13] usually when I find bugs like this its because I'm exploring a new feature, and hence, something I don't understand in the first place. [22:14] like, when I was going to play with aplus, and found a bug in the 64-bit version. [22:14] andygraybeal: I guess what I'm saying is I am only just now coming to grips with multi-arch, because I've been forced to :-) [22:47] nice :) [22:47] i think i followered your meandering [22:52] :-)
