israelhi, I am looking into building a custom JWM based distro and wanted to know what needs to be installed, and configured to use oem-config properly.  jwm does not use openbox or metacity, etc... (the oem-config recommends includes these in OR statements).  Is there something for my xsession (or other) that I need to check, or disable?  I can post a link to my xsession code located on launchpad01:03
sarnoldisrael: just bsaed on the package names, it looks like you could pick a gtk based or a qt based frontend, whichever one would feel most appropriate..01:18
sarnoldisrael: I've never run it before but I suspect if it depended upon a specific window manager, the deps would indicate that, so probably whatever window manager you use should work01:18
israelsarnold thanks, but it does not run correctly.  on reboot (after preparing) it boots to a black screen.  The gtk theme is also messed up if I run it from a working session01:19
sarnoldisrael: aha; anything in the logs or xsession-errors?01:20
sarnoldisrael: can you ssh -X -Y in to the host and run it that way? maybe it'll report errors differently in that case01:20
israelI have my own custom xsession, so is there something I need to be loading (or give permissions to) in order for things to run correctly?01:22
israelsarnold I have my own custom xsession, so is there something I need to be loading (or give permissions to) in order for things to run correctly?01:42
sarnoldisrael: sorry, I don't know. Does oem-config need to run as root?01:43
israelsarnold thanks for helping... the oem-config starts up at reboot automatically... and I do not think you need to run it as root, but it may need some permissions provided by a display manager like lightDM that I do not have using something else.01:45
sarnoldisrael: oh, interesting. hrmm. Sorry, I wish I could offer something better :)01:47
israelsarnold, yeah no problem... I am not sure who to ask, or where to start looking... as Ubuntu is so well integrated, I am not sure what I am supposed to look for :)01:48
