[01:06] hi, I am unable to launch Synaptic package manager from the GUI, and the Software Updater just crashed after I click "Install Now" for new updates, I wonder what's up with that... [16:03] I wonder how video playback in mythbuntu omits xrandr setting. I aimed to watch TV in PAL TV screen that is connected to mythbuntu frontend. I use xrandr options for $TV output: --fb 1024x576 --output $TV --scale-from 1012x576 --set mode PAL --mode 1024x768. Player fills the wide screen only partly; lower part of the screen is not used. If I play by VLC, it can use the whole screen. [16:05] jarnos: did you go through the screen setup in mythfrontend? [16:07] tgm4883, no. I started the frontend after running xrandr. UI is fine, but aspect ratio sucks in playback. [16:07] why are you doing it in xrandr instead of mythfrontend? [16:11] tgm4883, well, I use a setting that pans part of screen surrounding mouse cursor in laptop LCD. I suppose I can not do such thing with mythfrondend settings. [16:12] jarnos: probably true, but you should at least check those screen settings in mythfrontend to see if you can fix your other issue [16:12] tgm4883, good idea.
