Everything seems to run pretty good unless it goes to sleep or is unlocked [15:54] then kwin seems to peg out at 100% cpu and the screen goes crazy untill i login to another term and kill kwin [15:55] then I come back to the gui and open a terminal there and start kwin and it is back to as expected [15:55] any ideas? [16:14] and then if I wanted to keep KDE and remove ubuntu could I do that [16:14] as in sudo apt-get remove ubuntu-desktop ? or am I going to run into problems [16:31] designbybeck_, you should be fine [16:31] in removing ubuntu-desktop? [16:32] designbybeck_, yes [16:33] !purekde [16:33] If you want to remove all !Gnome packages and have a default !Kubuntu system follow the instructions here « http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/purekde » [16:33] Hm, Gnome [16:33] though at this point, I might just redo the whole system, it's gone through a number of upgrades and has a lot of random stuff I'd tried here and there [16:36] ..but I'm really happy revisiting Kubuntu! :) [16:36] with the Numix theme! [17:00] something odd that started back on 13.04/13.10 ish... In ubuntu anytime I tried to open my Documents folder in Nautilus, it would freeze and then crash Nautilus. If I typed in the location bar like /Documents/myfiles/afile I could browse to those directories as expected [17:00] It was only when I opened Documents folder itself in Nautilus. Now looking at the documents folder in Dolphin, it doesn't crash, but I see a BUNCH of .txt files that are duplicates, some have same date and time but different file sizes [17:01] but I can't delete any of these, just says it doesn't exist when I try to delete [17:02] SCREENSHOT: http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=83024 [17:30] designbybeck_: looks like you need a hard 'fsck' of that filetree [17:32] Walex, how might I do that [17:34] ...though I'll wait until I get a harddrive I can back up on ;) [17:46] I'm trying to find a package that will help me pic complementary colors for a print application. [21:53] hello pilsner [21:55] Hell [21:55] sorry Hello [21:56] I have a disk that i only have a uuid on and no dev on can yoou help me? [21:57] what does 'blkid' have to say about that uuid? [21:59] i see the uuid in fstab but not in lshw or blkid [22:02] and in boot there was some problem mounting the disk [22:26] pilsner: UUID in 'fstab' is something that *you* put in to get the disk mounted. [22:27] pilsner: you have to put in the right UUID. Worrying that the other tools don't find it. [22:46] sorry have tryed blkid and lshw -class disk [22:51] It sounds like the disk is missing [22:51] pilsner: you have to run lshw with sudo [22:52] pilsner: sudo lshw -class disk [22:52] if it doesn't show up then check the connections [22:52] same with blkid.. should show up and if not something's wrong [22:53] or it doesn't have a blkid [22:54] pilsner: you could also try sudo fdisk -l /dev/sd[a-z] [23:07] sudo fdisk -l /dev/sd[a-z]No news, cant see the disk [23:15] pilsner: you might need to check the cabling and/or connections === Drangue is now known as alket === claydoh_ is now known as claydoh === rudydog is now known as monkeyjuice
