elfyhard to tell with all the unity stuff lol00:29
elfyknome: that's greyish on vb - but yea - not a monitor to do anything much with here :)00:29
knomeelfy, it's towards grey, but it's that muddy brown grey00:30
knomei'm surprised how much that mud i'm seeing on my laptop00:30
knomebut only in the middle areas..00:30
elfyand if ochosi's comment to PaulW2U earlier about that being our 'dev' paper - good idea 00:30
knomeyeah, that's the one :)00:30
knomeelfy, you'd be happy to know that the first version i did wasn't picked: http://temp.knome.fi/temp/xubuntu/.devwall/dev-wall-draft-1.png00:31

knomethe nodding like you understand :P00:46
elfyI'm nodding like I understand 00:46
knomelike the dog?00:46
elfyfixed that for you :p00:46
elfythe random dots ... now that's just random except for one person's head 00:47
knomelol00:47
knomethey aren't random though00:48
knomejust harder to decrypt.00:48
elfytrying to find the 'yea but I don't play games' comment :)00:51
Unit193So scumbag me, put something on the agenda and likely won't be at the next meeting. :D00:59
elfyas long as you fix vivid normal before that's ok :p01:00
elfyin return I will move it along for a few meetings01:02
knomelol01:02
elfyjust checked that ... 01:02
elfy2 or 3 ish01:03
elfyUnit193: could we not drop that in a pad - then people can make notes as they think of them?01:05
elfyor nvm01:07
Unit193I could, I suppose...01:08
elfydoing it :)01:08
Unit193Oh bah, I was going to use https://pad.riseup.net/ or http://piratepad.net/front-page/01:09
elfythen you do it then :p01:09
knomeUnit193, no way, you got to use the ubuntu tools ;))01:09
knomeotherwise it'll not be official...01:09
knomethat's your punishment for not making the next meeting01:09
elfyhttp://pad.ubuntu.com/xubuntu-core-upgrade01:13
Unit193And I thought you'd just be glad I didn't say I was going to use https://5jp7xtmox6jyoqd5.onion/ :(01:17

bluesabreUnit193: want an easy package that I'll sponsor for you?02:24
Unit193bluesabre: -settings?02:24
* bluesabre nods02:24
Unit193Er, that is to say, looking into it, should be done soon.02:27
Unit193Wait, we patch on top of a patch? :P02:28
bluesabrewelcome to the world of debian+xfce+ubuntu+xfce02:38
bluesabreUnit193: feel free to improve it, I think one of them is entirely redundant02:38
Unit193There were 3 patches, one fixed upstream (versioned help), one is Debian patching the theme, one is us re-patching the already patched theme. :P02:39
bluesabre:)02:40
Unit193http://sigma.unit193.net/souce/xfce4-settings_4.11.4-0ubuntu1.dsc02:43
Unit193(Had to stop for food and run a test build. :P )02:43
Unit193http://sigma.unit193.net/source/xfce4-settings_4.11.4-0ubuntu1.dsc  I sware I can type!02:44
bluesabresurprised its not in /sauce/02:48
Unit193Hah. :302:49
Unit193Didn't touch d/copyright, leaving that for Debian. :P02:55
bluesabre:)02:55
bluesabremay never get updated then, I saw that with lightdm-gtk-greeter and its qt/kde/etc greeters02:56
eikon81gI may be barking up the wrong tree but I am having some issues with Ubuntu 14.10 after installing xfce.. Would anyone be able to field a question on an issue with the volume buttons (fn+volup/dn/mute)02:57
eikon81g(sorry to interrupt the convo)02:57
Unit193eikon81g: Generally you were right the first time, trying in #xubuntu, it's just night time so less people and you didn't actually ask the question.  Also, would it be too much to ask for you to try out the live image to see if the problem is there too?  (Changes from Ubuntu to Xubuntu can be "fun")02:58
eikon81gI am using Ubuntu 14.10 with xfce and when I was running unity my volume controls on the keyboard (fn + vol up / fn + vol dn / fn + mute) worked fine but after the xfce install (or so I think) the volume buttons quit working. I did some research and I have the Indicator plugin running to make volume adjustments which works fine but I'd like to have my buttons available to use. After researching some I saw that there are b02:59
eikon81gug repo02:59
eikon81g<eikon81g> rts in place already for this issue but I was unable to get my buttons working again after following a few of the fixes that were posted in the ubuntu forums. I don't recall the exact commands but they had to do with resetting pule info in a .dconf file I believe.. I may need to do some more research / investigating but I figured this would be a good avenue to get going in the right direction.. Thanks in advance02:59
Unit193I'd personally recommend installing the task for best results.02:59
rwwsecond time. They started in #ubuntu.02:59
Unit193Ooh, ouch.  Thanks, rww.02:59

eikon81gunit 193 - live image?03:00
eikon81gI haven't used irc in quite some time I also need to brush up on this : \ 03:00
Unit193I'm not a bot, believe it or not.  bluesabre's got you in #xubuntu, it's all good.03:00
eikon81gOk thanks a million I pasted it over there.. I feel like an idiot. 03:01
eikon81g:\03:01
Unit193Sure, no problem.03:01
bluesabreUnit193: I'll work on your endorsement in the morning (see, I'm not forgetting about it!)03:13
Unit193bluesabre: Hah, danke.03:13
Unit193lightdm depends on bash, pretty sure you don't need to actually depend on bash in a package.03:19
Unit193Failure to ping  www.xubuntu.com  may also mean 1. DNS is failing.  2. Canonical servers are failing.03:46
pleia2knome: I might be around a little today, will know more about my schedule today in a couple hours06:36
pleia2meeting up with some folks from the conference around lunchtime, then either adventures or not06:37
ochosijjfrv8: xfce will get a new stable release soon and i thought as one of our most experienced docs-writer i'd ask you whether you have time or are motivated to contribute07:08
ochosijjfrv8: not sure yet which components will for sure get a docs-version-bump, but it's at least appearance settings and display settings that need updates07:09
ochosiUnit193: if you have time, could you take a stab at packaging gtk2-engine-xfce 2.9.1 (yes, that's the latest release) for the staging PPA?08:11
Unit193http://archive.xfce.org/src/xfce/gtk-xfce-engine/3.0/ I don't see anything, and I don't want to just rename the tarball, change the configure.ac version and autoreconf it.08:31
ochosiUnit193: http://git.xfce.org/xfce/gtk-xfce-engine/snapshot/gtk-xfce-engine-2.9.1.tar.bz208:33
Unit193That's 2.9.08:33
Unit193!info gtk-engines-xfce08:33
Unit193!info gtk2-engines-xfce08:34
ubottuPackage gtk-engines-xfce does not exist in utopic08:34
ubottugtk2-engines-xfce (source: gtk2-engines-xfce): GTK+-2.0 theme engine for Xfce. In component universe, is optional. Version 3.0.1-2 (utopic), package size 30 kB, installed size 360 kB08:34
ochosigrrrrr08:34
ochosi2.9.1 *is* the latest release08:34
Unit193Read users ML for more info.08:34
Unit193Shadow release isn't there yet.08:34
ochosiyeah08:34
ochosiright, so let's wait for the shadow release then08:35
Unit193Ya think? :P08:37
ochosiwell, i thought that for staging we could've just bumped the version name08:38
ochosior even if not, i could've just downgraded, i usually don't have that engine installed anway08:38
ochosigoing for a 2.9 version number really wasn't a great idea *sigh*08:39
Unit193Working on small changes now, will go for the tiny changes next cycle as that'll likely kill some translations: http://paste.openstack.org/show/DsJoFAVku0beWip6gqLd/08:42
ochosiUnit193: if you wanna help out with docs upstream... =)08:43
Unit193Also, https://unit193.net/xubuntu/xubuntu-docs/desktop-guide/guide-keeping-safe.html needs help.  And, is there a way to change the xref line?  That's pretty nasty at the top.08:44
pleia2knome: shared the survey on G+ and Facebook too09:12
ochosibluesabre: added fix to greybird for the greeter. only thing that needs fixing in the greeter is setting the .default class on the login button (something like gtk_widget_set_can_default(login_button,TRUE); gtk_window_set_default(GTK_WINDOW(login_window), login_button); )09:17
pleia2141 responses so far, nice :)09:17
ochosibluesabre: otherwise the login-button remains grey09:17
elfyI really dislike numlock not working 09:19
ochosibluesabre: ok, nvm, i fixed that in the theme too. so with the last two commits of greybird the greeter2.0 should behave as it should again09:22
ochosibluesabre: lemme know if you need me to tag a new version of greybird09:23
elfyUnit193: quick question - updates for vivid today - I've got xubuntu core installed now - that expected?10:03
Unit193elfy: Newly installed or just upgraded?10:04
elfyjust daily upgrades10:04
brainwash-desktop depends on -core10:06
Unit193I meant the package, pulled in or not?  xubuntu-meta was updated, so xubuntu-core and xubuntu-desktop should have been upgraded, but oth already installed.10:06
elfyUnit193: not sure - checking10:07
brainwashis that a bad thing?10:08
elfyonly one instance of it in apt history - and that is today's install of it10:08
elfyanyway - as long as that's expected - that's fine :)10:09
Unit193elfy: So looking at things, may be the 18th that gets the fix. :/10:17
Unit193I should be able to confirm beforehand though.10:17
elfyUnit193: time will tell10:20
Unit193I don't see it fixed today. :/10:21
elfyUnit193: ok10:24
elfyhow can something as simple as numlock need to be so not simple10:25
Unit193...Something is very drunk...10:26
elfyworked yesterday morning, lightdm greeter update - that appears to have commented out the line in lightdm.conf10:27
elfyuncomment it and machine hangs turning nvidia prime on and off :p10:27
elfyslickymasterWork: and if you hit any key right at beginning so you get menu, does that boot to desktop? 10:57
elfyat the stage where you see the little keyboard and bloke10:59
slickymasterWorkhaven't tried that yet elfy 11:00
slickymasterWorkgoing to now11:00
slickymasterWorkpresently this is what I'm getting booting the image -> http://imgur.com/0XrId6o11:00
slickymasterWorkelfy, hitting a key at beginning produced the same results as before. Unable to boot to desktop :P11:05
brainwashslickymasterWork, can you please mark bug 1271883 as won't fix (for now)?11:11
ubottubug 1271883 in xfwm4 (Ubuntu) "Workspace Settings number keys do not work" [Medium,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/127188311:11
slickymasterWorkin the xfwm4 package brainwash? because it's already marked as 'Won't fix'11:13
slickymasterWorkI meant in the xfwm4 (ubuntu) package brainwash :P11:13
brainwashyes, change the status of the ubuntu package11:14
slickymasterWorkand done brainwash, want to add any comment?11:14
brainwashthe last upstream comment explains it already11:16
brainwashand xubuntu just follows11:16
brainwashoh, and thanks :)11:16
slickymasterWorknp brainwash 11:16
slickymasterWorkand as the Finnish one ins't around you don't get poked to apply to the Ubuntu Bug Control brainwash ;)11:18
slickymasterWork* isn't11:18
brainwashlucky me11:19
slickymasterWorklol11:21
slickymasterWorkkrytarik, I agree with you in "This documentation provides documentation to the most common issues with Xubuntu..." should rather be "This documentation provides information to the most common issues with Xubuntu..."11:25
slickymasterWorkwill change that tonight 11:25
slickymasterWorkelfy, finally managed to get to the menu and boot into a completely borked desktop11:28
elfyack 11:28
slickymasterWorkthe only thing that worked was hitting the left shift key at start11:29
slickymasterWorkno other ones manage to do it11:29
elfyI'm just waiting for the new daily - then I'll do both arch's on vbox and hardware and see where we are11:29
slickymasterWorkok11:29
knomepleia2, no worries really, it's not a pressing issue in any way :)11:36
slickymasterWorkhey knome 11:37
knomehullo slickymasterWork 11:37
slickymasterWorkhere's some reading material for you -> http://pastebin.com/70HL3iBU11:37
knomeoh noes11:37
slickymasterWorkwhatie?11:37
elfyrun away11:37
knome i hate reading :P11:37
elfyrun away now11:37
slickymasterWorkyou won't hate that11:38
pleia2knome o/11:38
knomeo hai pleia2 11:38
knomepleia2, so just this question:11:38
Unit193I'll concur with the second to last line.11:38
pleia2knome: so I think we should accept that email and be happy it came there11:38
knomepleia2, ok, how do we spread the word?11:39
pleia2knome: can fwd to some devs11:39
knomelike -team?11:39
pleia2yeah sure11:39
knomeoki11:39
knomei'll do that11:39
knomeand that was pretty much it ;)11:39
pleia2:)11:39
elfyknome pleia2 - how long do we anticipate running this first survey for? 11:41
pleia2couple weeks maybe11:41
knomewe have 187 responses now11:42
elfyyea - just looked 11:42
pleia2crazy11:42
knome:)11:42
knomewhat's more crazy is that half of them still consider themself power users ;)11:42
knomethat can't be right...11:42
knomei mean this can't be representing11:42
pleia2it's a self-selecting crowd that's passionate enough to follow their OS on social media /mailing lists11:43
elfypleia2: yep11:43
knomeyes, but if they maintain systems for others...11:43
knomehow do we get *those* people respond?11:43
knome113 people say they maintain computers for others, some of that must be xubuntu11:43
pleia2one of the many problems with trying to do a user survey :)11:43
pleia2but we do what we can11:43
knomeonly 1 says somebody maintains computer for them11:43
elfysetup one to run for a whole cycle - put link on slideshow 11:44
pleia2maybe we can explore that in a follow up survey11:44
knomeshould we send some reminders11:44
pleia2yeah, I'll send some out on social media throughout the weeks11:44
elfyknome: but we'll still be talking to the same people surely11:44
knome"if you are maintaining xubuntu systems for other people, please ask them to fill the survey as well"11:44
knomeyah, that addresses the "same" people ^11:44
pleia2ah, sure11:44
knomesince pleia2 is around, i'll tweet something like that 11:45
elfystill think put it in slideshow for a cycle - run a 6 month survey 11:45
knomeelfy, maybe some other, better survey :)11:45
pleia2ok, I'll social media it elsewhere again later in the week11:45
knomenot that there is anything wrong with this11:45
pleia2should remind about stickers again too11:46
knomeyes11:46
knomei'll tweet about that at the same time11:46
knomewith pic11:46
elfyknome: yea - but still, something running for longer 11:46
knomeelfy, agreed11:46
knomebut meh, where do i get the original link11:46
pleia2ok, I'll do the stickers+qa thing on other social medias now11:46
elfyknome: you mean use this one for that? 11:47
knomeyes11:47
elfypleia2: thanks :)11:47
knomemailing list archive11:47
knomeyes11:47
pleia2I got distracted by pancakes11:49
knomehah11:50
elfyeasily done :)11:50
knometweeted survey and testing stuff11:51
* pleia2 copies knome's text for qa11:52
knomehehe, welcome11:52
knomeshould be winner though11:52
knome:PP11:52
knomebuuut11:52
* knome shrugs11:52
knomeslickymasterWork, the spaces-in-tags is just annoying and not helpful for translators11:53
knomeslickymasterWork, the invalid markup and translated tags is worse11:53
slickymasterWorkthat's one thing11:53
slickymasterWorkexactly11:53
pleia2knome: actually, are we doing a b1?11:54
elfyyes 11:54
pleia2then there are winners :)11:54
knomeyep11:54
knomeok then11:54
knomegood for me :P11:54
elfypleia2: there will be winners at end of feb too 11:54
knomei said "end of month"11:54
knomebut we can consider that just being b1 time and actual end of month11:55
knome:P11:55
elfynope11:55
knomethe url was so long that there wasn't much to scribble :D11:55
knomeand the image took some letters away as well11:55
elfywe've already said what we're doing at http://xubuntu.org/news/help-the-community-with-testing-and-win-xubuntu-stickers/11:55
knomeelfy, no of course we do it like that :P11:55
elfyend of Feb and Beta 111:55
knomebut isn't b1 time "end of month" :P11:55
slickymasterWorkknome, what concerns me the most is why the strings already translated using the LP (using Rosetta) aren't being synced to the docs branch 11:55
knomeelfy, just consider it is ;)11:55
elfyknome: yea - but I'm grabbing seperate figures for B111:56
pleia2didn't say last day, I consider the 26th to be at the end11:56
knomeelfy, absolutely!11:56
knomeand we can announce at the end :P11:56
knomeslickymasterWork, as i said to Unit193, i can request a one-time import11:57
Unit193Are you sure it's actually set to auto export?11:57
knomei'm sure of anything i've said until i say the contrary11:58
slickymasterWorklol knome, a professional politic wouldn't said that better11:58
knomeslickymasterWork, you got to remember i do work with politicians...11:58
slickymasterWorknasty people11:59
knomeyes.11:59
knomeotoh, i get to prove they are wrong, and usually succeed at that11:59
knome:P11:59
knomebuut11:59
knomelet's see11:59
knome Translations are imported with every update from branch lp:xubuntu-docs. 11:59
knomeoh.12:00
slickymasterWorkright 12:00
knome Currently not exporting translations to a branch. Choose a target branch. 12:00
* knome shrugs12:00
knomedone and should start doing that12:00
knomewould that fix it? :P12:00
knomei thought the problem was with the import12:00
knomebut i didn't think straight when i was asked about it...12:00
slickymasterWorkcan't the export be automated?12:00
knomeyes.12:00
knomei just turned that on.12:01
knomeit wasn't12:01
slickymasterWorksilly knome 12:01
knomenobody asked about exports12:01
knomeuntil Unit193 did12:01
knomesee, he's just as good in this as i am12:01
slickymasterWorkhmm not sure of that12:01
knome:P12:01
slickymasterWorklol12:01
slickymasterWork;)12:01
knomewell he didn't say anything about it until he said12:01
knome;)12:01
knomeso isn't that fair? :P12:02
slickymasterWorkheheh12:02
knomeso the first exports should land in the, say, next 24 hours12:02
knomethe export is daily12:02
slickymasterWorkI'll keep an eye on it12:02
slickymasterWorkbtw where is that set knome?12:03
knomehttps://translations.launchpad.net/xubuntu-docs/vivid/+translations-settings12:03
pleia2knome: oh yeah, so we should accept that email on contacts and share it (just confirming it wasn't reject+fwd)12:03
knomepleia2, yep.12:03
knomepleia2, so how do we reply to the sender?12:03
pleia2ok good12:03
pleia2knome: one of us should just send a "thanks, we've sent it to the team"12:04
slickymasterWorkthanks for the url knome 12:04
slickymasterWorkchecking it12:04
knomepleia2, yep12:04
knomepleia2, i'll do that next12:04
pleia2but not me, because I am barely awake and things are starting to feel funny :)12:04
knomewell same here, i woke up 30mins ago12:04
knomei clearly live in the same timezone as pleia2 12:04
pleia2I slept all night on Friday12:04

knomepleia2, one more thing...12:05
knomei'll take it to PM12:05
pleia2I shall try :)12:05

knomeelfy, guess you got my message re: the planet MP12:21
elfyjust read that - makes sense - I am NOT doing it again :p12:22
knomeelfy, if you want me to help with the thing i proposed, just poke me12:22
elfyyep12:22
knomeok, i'll get to you once i've done this other thing12:22
elfyyou're assuming I'm the one who'd do it though :)12:23
knomewell if you aren't... tell me ;)12:23
elfyI'm off out shortly for an hourish 12:23
knomeelfy, if you want to do it after that then, ping me12:23
knomei might or might not be around, but... yeah12:23
knomejjfrv8, i see you've changed your email address :)12:23
knomejjfrv8, delivered my email to the new one :)12:24
elfynice :)12:25
knomejjfrv8, are we going to see some content on the new domain soon? :)12:26
bluesabreUnit193: Added my endorsement, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Unit193/XubuntuPackageset - may tack on a few other things when I get home later.12:45
knomeoh that, should poke the page :]12:46

knomei poked Mirv fwiw13:08
knomenot an archive admin, but..13:08
knomebluesabre, 15:28 Mirv: uploaded13:29
ochosi\o/13:35
jjfrv8ochosi, sure, you can sign me up.13:44
jjfrv8knome, no, I don't do web stuff.13:45
knomejjfrv8, awwh :(13:45
ochosijjfrv8: great!13:46
ochosijjfrv8: i shall set up a staging site at bluesabre's wiki again14:00
jjfrv8okey14:00
ochosii would try to keep the diff as minimal as possible in this case14:01
ochosibut anyway, it's up to you and i trust you ;)14:01
jjfrv8bad idea14:02
ochosithe latest version of xfce4-settings (4.11.4) can be found in vivid and (from git) in our staging PPA for older versions like 14.0414:02
ochosinot sure what you're using atm14:02
jjfrv8haven't updated in a while, elfy is scaring me. I've got 4.11.3 atm.14:04
knomebad efl14:04
knomeelfy too..14:04
ochosijjfrv8: i guess this one i won't have to copy to staging... :D http://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/display14:07
ochosianyway, here is the initial setup: http://smdavis.us/doku/doku.php?id=xfce4-settings-docs:start14:07
jjfrv8I'll check it out after rebooting from my updates. If my machine will boot, that is :|14:09
ochosicoraggio! it will work14:10
jjfrv8ok, updated, rebooted, and mayhem has not ensued ...yet :)14:20
knome;)14:20
jjfrv8I checked the staging link out and will get started tonight. bbt14:22
ochosijjfrv8: thanks! it's much appreciated!14:25
ochosijjfrv8: if you need a short-list of changes, lemme know14:26
ochosiespecially for appearance settings, it should be fairly straightforward14:26
ochosidisplay settings is pretty much rebuilt from the ground, so you'll have to start with a blank page either way14:26
elfyI'm not that scary ... 14:37
elfyknome: can look at this planet thing when you're about 14:38
elfy!team | back on track hopefully - new rebuilds of trusty .2 at http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/332/builds17:07
elfyfoiled again17:07
elfy!team ^^17:07
slickymasterWorkyeah, saw those on -qa channel17:07
elfy!team17:07
ubottubluesabre, elfy, jjfrv8, knome, lderan, micahg, Noskcaj, ochosi, pleia2, slickymaster, Unit19317:07
elfy^^ thanks 17:07
elfyI turn of the announce bot17:08
slickymasterWorki deleted yesterday's image, so no zsync for me :P17:08
slickymasterWorkand downloading the entire iso here is out of the question17:09
elfyslickymasterWork: this is trusty not yesterday's image :)17:10
slickymasterWorkyes it is elfy. Nevermind me17:11
elfy:)17:11
elfyI've been watching for both for a while now17:11
slickymasterWorksilly slickymaster17:11
elfysmoketest confusion reigns - doing 32 and 64 at the same time, but they're at different stages 17:55
slickymasterWorkelfy the juggler17:57
Unit193bluesabre, knome: Thanks!17:58
elfynot sure about that - mad perhaps17:58
elfyUnit193: I thought about writing something - not sure if it'd help17:59
elfyhappy to do so though if you like 17:59
Unit193Don't see why it wouldn't, it's the Xubuntu packageset and you're an Xubuntu lead.18:00
elfyok - I'll do so tomorrow18:00
slickymasterWorkbtw Unit193, and as mentioned it, not sure if you saw but I corrected the <<DateTime>> tag formatin it18:01
slickymasterWorks/as/as you18:01
Unit193slickymasterWork: Hmm, somehow missed the scrollback on it (unless it was -ot), but wiki sent me a notice.  Thanks.18:06
slickymasterWork:)18:06
Unit193The vivid images are fixed tomorrow, it was all my fault but pushed the change now.18:38
Unit193elfy: Oh, you asked me where I find things out.  Well one is I'd made some bigger changes, and two: http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/germinate-output/xubuntu.vivid/ going through that (and testing the fix using germinate myself.)  As I've already linked, that's also where to check for imagme build failures, packagesets, why something is stuck in proposed, and basically every log file is 18:46
Unit193there. 18:46
elfyawesome - thanks Unit193 - I'll have a dig about :)18:48
Unit193Basically this time, I'd moved all the core deps to, well, core and marked core as a seed for desktop.  I missed however that it also needed mapped in STRUCTURE (germinate/seeds aren't well documented.)18:49
elfyok - logically I think I can follow that :)18:50
Unit193(germinate also confirmed it was a-ok with my fix.)18:51
knomeelfy, hullo19:02
elfyhi knome 19:09
knomeelfy, up for a very short sprint? :)19:09
elfypossibly ... 19:10
elfyneed more info on what first :D19:11
knomethe planet conf :P19:11
knomeif you'd rather do it on some other channel, point me htere19:11
knome*there19:11
knomemaybe a cc chan19:11
knomeor sth19:11
elfyno other channel - we can do it here or PMs 19:12
Unit193https://bugs.debian.org/778642 erm, that doesn't look good.  Fixed in 1.4.2?19:33
ubottuDebian bug 778642 in xfce4-power-manager-plugins "xfce4-power-manager-plugins: Serious memory leak in libxfce4powermanager.so" [Critical,Open]19:33
ochosiUnit193: i don't think so, at least the upstream report is still open19:36
ochosibluesabre: pinged around and greeter-settings has been accepted+uploaded19:36
ochosiUnit193: iirc eric_the_idiot had a promising lead on that one though, but i think so far nothing has been pushed19:38
Unit193valgrind?19:38
ochosiyeah, but for panel-plugins?19:38
ochosiif you valgrind it, i'll look into fixing it ;)19:39
ochosianyway, i still have some real work to do..19:39
Unit193Bye.19:39
ochosielfy: saw the 14.04.2 ping19:43
ochosihas anyone run a test on it yet?19:43
ochosifor now i still have other things on my plate, but if i don't finish work too late, i might run a test today19:43
elfyochosi: I've done 10 smoketests in vbox 19:45
ochosioh wow19:45
ochosihow does it look?19:45
elfywill do some hardware ones shortly and tomorrow 19:45
elfywell - we had 10 passes instead of 10 fails - so that's a good start :)19:45
ochosiso no more crappy-crap installed by default?19:46
elfyI couldn't see any - checked manifest too 19:47
ochosi\o/19:47
elfythat's was my reaction too funnily enough :D19:48
ochosilet's hope Unit193 fixed vivid then19:49
knomeso, Unit193 is good at poking vervets?19:50
elfyhe seems to believe that 19:50
Unit193Nooo, he poked it and angered it. :319:50
knomebbl19:58
Unit193andrzejr: Got a screenie for xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin?20:32
andrzejrnope, it's just a panel icon.20:33
Unit193Hmm.20:33
ochosiandrzejr: iirc there's no scale that pops up when clicking it, right?20:34
Unit193So other than the benefit of not being an indicator, any other benefits?20:35
ochosiPA-support? (as opposed to the mixer)20:35
andrzejr+ volume mute control via keyboard and mouse wheel20:35
andrzejrsomeday I will add a menu too20:36
ochosiwould be cool if a mixer-app could be bound to it via an xfconf prop20:36
ochosifor on-click20:36
ochosithat should be fairly easy to implement20:36
andrzejrI can do it for 0.1 release. There is already an xfconf prop and an option in preferences dialog.20:38
ochosiyou mean for this?20:39
andrzejrThere is an option for the mixer app, although so far the only tool I am aware of is pavucontrol20:43
andrzejrdo you know how to start unity-control-center with sound tab selected?20:44
brainwash_andrzejr, unity-control-center sound20:46
andrzejrha! I knew I'm missing something obvious20:47
elfybrainwash_: see no title bar in evince now :p21:15
Unit193elfy: have -gtk, right?21:15
elfyyea21:15
elfyevince-gtk21:15
Unit193elfy: Also, re: logs that I linked.  You can try to go through them, or ping me or bluesabre when there's an issue.21:15
elfyyep 21:16
elfyjust want to be able to try and work it out for me too21:16
ochosiwrt evince, i already submitted a patch on git.gnome.org21:18
ochosi(slightly modified from what brainwash_ submitted on launchpad)21:18
ochosiso yeah, that will be fixed in time, i'm sure21:18
elfyyep21:18
elfyjust glad I'm seeing it now :D21:19
ochosihah, weird elfy :)21:24
elfyseems that we've got *some* extras kicking about in the new trusty image21:34
elfykrytarik: ^^21:34
krytarikelfy: Well, only the two I've mentioned really stuck out to me (mate-notification-daemon and xscreensaver).21:36
ochosimeh21:37
ochosiso not all problems are fixed then21:37
ochosihaving two lockers isn't very cool21:37
krytarikYeah, but infinity is on it.21:37
krytarikSo I trust that'll we gone at the day's end.21:38
ochosicool cool21:41
elfymentioned it to the poor guy :)21:43
elfyand he's on that already :)21:43
elfyI guess if anything the one he's not done is the one that we'd choose to lose if we had to 21:44
brainwash_oh, theme color previews :)22:58
bluesabrebrainwash_ found a new feature22:59
brainwash_and icon previews, everything looks so cluttered now :D22:59
bluesabrewait for it... expecting a new bug report to appear22:59
bluesabre:)22:59
knomeor two23:00
knomeor three23:00
* bluesabre hides23:00
brainwash_well, not a new bug, but I just noticed that my cursor is not set properly anymore after a relog (outside of the root window aka desktop)23:01
brainwash_it reverts to the default one. I remember reading about this buggy behavior, and now I'm seeing it too23:02
bluesabreoh no23:02
brainwash_thought that it's only a myth :)23:02
brainwash_so, I had to tell xfce4-settings to reapply my selected cursor theme and size23:04
ochosiluckily that is a totally unrelated bug23:04
brainwash_but why would a session restart break it..23:04
brainwash_it is, but it's the reason why I opened the appearance settings and noticed the previews23:05
brainwash_then I noticed that I actually need to open the Mouse and Touchpad settings23:05
brainwash_ochosi, btw I gave up on greybird-thick (thick borders). it looks bad and would be greybird only anyway23:12
brainwash_a general solution would be better23:12
ochosiyup23:12
ochosii don't believe that will happen btw23:12
ochosimaybe with headerbars23:12
ochosi(i mean that actually already works with headerbars)23:13
brainwash_it works with gtk3/csd out of the box, but this magic cannot be backported to gtk2 I guess23:13
brainwash_or to xfwm4 in general, kinda confusing23:14
ochosiwell, not really23:15
ochosibut whatever23:15
brainwash_I'd think that the biggest bounty would be placed on this feature :D23:16
krytarikknome: Btw, I was more thinking of "spaces-in-tags" = "invalid markup", but yeah, that too, and "translated tags" as well - seen you guys chatting about that a while ago.23:28
Unit193krytarik: Also, see that it actually wasn't exporting and he fixed it?23:28
krytarikNope, I'm not that far down today's -devel logs yet. :P23:29
Unit193Yeah they need to be more quiet!23:30
brainwashnow with the release of xfce4-settings 4.11.4 we can close some lp reports23:30
Unit193:323:30
brainwashbluesabre, ochosi: how did https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11516 survive not being closed yet? :)23:33
ubottubugzilla.xfce.org bug 11516 in Mouse Settings "Can't set mouse sensitivity in XFCE" [Normal,New]23:33
ochosimaybe it was reported after our sweep23:34
bluesabremany many bugs, tired eyes, and coding23:34
bluesabreochosi: you want to kill it dead?23:34
ochosiway ahead of you23:34
ochosialso: many many bugreports23:35
brainwashochosi, just want to make sure: bug 1409470 should be now fixed in vivid, right?23:37
ubottubug 1409470 in xfce4-settings (Ubuntu) "Widget truncation in xfce4-display-settings" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/140947023:37
ochosican't you just test it?23:37
ochosialso, you've already written it's fixed :p23:38
brainwashyeeee, but I did not test anything23:38
brainwashlet me try23:38
brainwashyes, works fine23:41
knomekrytarik, i don't think we're getting invalidity errors or warnings with the tags that have spaces, they are just annoying :)23:42
Unit193Oh I should request a merge for the docs stuff I have here.  krytarik: Were you OK with it?23:42
krytarikknome: Well, might be - but have a look at the actual result.23:43
krytarikUnit193: Yep.23:43
