eikon81ganyone have a minute to sort out a bluetooth pairing issue? I looked into it a bit and it seems like it may be a bug in xubuntu but I saw some possible fixes regarding edits to audio.conf01:50
eikon81gI get the error: Connection Failed: Stream setup failed01:50
eikon81gafter adding the device (JBL Pulse BT Speaker) and trying to use audio sink01:51
eikon81gis it possible to disable or remove blueman and use an alternate bluetooth manager? There seems to be a bug that has been addressed here and there but I can't get anything to work02:41
klopsi-u3i cannot help02:44
eikon81git's cool I have been trying to figure this out for a minute but it seems that this is a known issue with blueman and I wanted to see if I could sidestep it all together..02:45
bluesabreeikon81g: try installing pulseaudio-module-bluetooth03:11
eikon81ghey bluesabre03:11
eikon81gI can try that but I don't know if you remember or not but awhile back I had the issue with volume keys03:11
eikon81gdo you think if I did that that it would mess up my hardkeys? they are working as of now03:11
bluesabrewouldn't mess up the volume keys03:12
eikon81gsudo pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover < I ran that and it says: Failure: Module initialization failed03:12
eikon81gis this because I need to install pulse audio?03:12
bluesabreI think the pulseaudio-module-bluetooth package resolves that (have to use that to pair my headphones)03:13
eikon81gok I am on it. . do I apt-get a package?03:14
bluesabreyeah03:14
bluesabresudo apt-get install pulseaudio-module-bluetooth03:14
eikon81gI got it in the software center that work too?03:14
eikon81gOk03:14
bluesabreyes, software-center is a-ok03:14
eikon81gthanks again man I appreciate the assist I've been digging around. I edited the etc/bluetooth/audio.conf in several places to no avail..03:15
eikon81glol03:15
bluesabrefor reference, http://askubuntu.com/a/432114/4479603:16
eikon81gok. I will check it.. real quick, I got that installed so I don't use blueman anymore right?03:17
xubuntu25wHow do you compile a source code grom git without install.sh?03:18
eikon81gok bluesabre I got a new error and I am further along than before I will attempt to get it going maybe one of my edits in audio.conf is now the issue! thanks again!!03:19
bluesabreeikon81g: best of luck03:19
xubuntu25wI'm trying to compile this one: https://github.com/irssi/irssi03:20
Unit193xubuntu25w: Why is that?  You know the package is in the repository?03:21
xubuntu25wUnit193: I know i know but I want to do have it from git03:22
xubuntu25wmore up to date03:22
Unit193Ah.  Well you can just pull the one from devel/vivid and rebuild it then?03:24
Unit193As in, grab the source, dpkg-buildpackage -tc it, then install the deb rather than manually building and having an "untracked" package.03:25
xubuntu25wI can have the tracked version with checkinstall03:27
xubuntu25wI just want to know how can you compile a program like this without a makefile and without install.sh or equivalent03:28
Unit193Not really a great option, no.  But anyway, there is an INSTALL doc with instructions if you do plan to continue, basically you'll need to run autogen.sh with some options.03:28
Unit193It's using autotools stuff, so makefiles get generated with the configure script, which gets created from autogen crap.  I'd still think it's better to use a released version from them rather than a git snapshot, unless you're trying to contribute.03:30
eikon81gBluesabre!! I got it!!03:31
bluesabreeikon81g: congrats!03:31
eikon81gsudo apt-get install pulseaudio-module-bluetooth and then sudo pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover if anyone else comes to you with it03:31
bluesabregood to know03:32
eikon81gthanks so much!! :) hehe03:32
xubuntu25wUnit193: yes you're right I don't why they did the installation "so" complicated03:32
Unit193It's not really "so complicated", and easier to maintain.03:32
xubuntu25wok i read on their website that their git version is complicated to compile03:35
xubuntu25wbut not actually the source code that they give on their website because with this version I can compile it without a problem03:35
Unit193Which is to be expected...03:36
xubuntu25wit's working perfect tx unit bye03:40
eikon81glater yall thanks again bluesabre good to see ya Unit193 ttyl!03:41
klopsi-u3cheers eikon81g03:42

klopsi-u3hmm should .exe files be associated with WINE? in thunar..04:05
holsteinid say, there is no "should" for that.. i use wine manually, since, there is not a gurantee, typically, that the .exe will support wine..04:05
klopsi-u3yeah true enough04:05
klopsi-u3meh, operation flashpoint install didnt succeed04:24
klopsi-u3i guess that should be in xubuntu-offtopic04:24

CrossPope16and now my Xubuntu Session looks ugly :(17:20
CrossPope16How do I fix this?17:20
bazhang!themes17:22
ubottuTo change your theme in Xubuntu, go to Settings Manager -> Appearance (tabs Style, Icons) and/or Settings Manager -> Window Manager (tab Style). Starting with Xubuntu 13.10, you can control some of your theme colors from Settings Manager -> Theme Configuration.17:22
CrossPope16Thanks, just what I needed!!! :)17:24
CrossPope16tho I still have some issues17:26
CrossPope16I can snap windows to left or right like I would in Win7 or Win817:26
CrossPope16this used to work before17:26
CrossPope16nvm fixed it, just removed all but one workspace17:27

xubuntu99wHello, I am a novice computer user and i recently purchased a Toshiba tetra R840/win7 laptop for my daughter and  when we attempted to watch a Netflix video it displayed an error code m7063-1913, please advise of what to do, it is running on  xubuntu x3218:53
bazhang!netflix | xubuntu99w18:55
ubottuxubuntu99w: If you use Netflix, there is an unofficial solution for using it in Ubuntu detailed in http://www.compholio.com/netflix-desktop/ - bug reports in https://bugs.launchpad.net/netflix-desktop18:55
xubuntu99wAwesome, i will attempt that and advise of outcome.. greatly appreciated.18:57
drcIn Thunar, is there any way, when using "Send To Desktop [Create Link]", to force making links throughout down the selected folders hierarchy rather than just the top level?19:36

Tired_Hi.  I did something stupid and I don't know how to undo it.  I was trying to mute the audio from my browser, and I hit Terminate Playback on Chrome in the Playback tab of Volume Control.  Now Chrome doesn't show there and I can't figure out how to turn the sound back on.20:19
Tired_Sound works in every program except Chrome, and Chrome thinks it's playing audio, but nothing shows under Playback in the Volume Control.20:20
msev_installed xfce 4.12 (dist-upgrade from earlier version) and now I'm getting some bug or something, I'm getting some semitransparent line on the screen, I'm seeing it in all the "windows" and also on the desktop20:25
msev_anyone know what could that be, I can make a screenshot20:25
brainvvash_yes, please create a screenshot20:26
msev_http://imgur.com/Kfupwwgl.png20:28
msev_see bottom20:28
msev_any clues20:30
brainvvash_try to toggle the compositor (window manager tweaks, last tab)20:31
msev_line disappers if I remove compositing (tho I'm  not sure if i'm toggling the right thing since its not in english)20:33
msev_(my plank dock looks ugly if I untick that)20:34
msev_then if i tick it back line comes back and plank dock is nicer :)20:34
brainvvash_uhm, close plank20:35
msev_also when i toggle it black color flashes right up to the "line"20:35
brainvvash_maybe it's plank which triggers the line20:35
msev_yep without it no more line20:37
msev_how can i fix that?20:37
msev_so I can still use plank and everything20:37
msev_yeah if I turn plank back on line reappers20:38
brainvvash_I don't know, inform the plank devs and maybe also file a bug report on the Xfce bug tracker20:39
msev_will do so20:41
msev_brainvvash_, do you maybe know if one has two panels in xfce 4.12 (one imitating a dock) can you make just one panel inteligently autohide while the other doesn't have that behaviour20:42
msev_so select behaviour for each panel20:42
brainvvash_you can select a panel in the panel preferences and change its settings20:44
brainvvash_doesn't this work for the autohide setting?20:45
msev_just asking theoretically, so you confirm20:46
elfymsev_: just tested it - you can20:46
msev_nice, then I'm gonna remove plank :D20:47
elfymsev_: please bear in mind I'm using vivid20:52
msev_14.04 here & it works20:53
