[01:37] quien me socorre [01:39] !es [01:39] En la mayoría de los canales de Ubuntu, se habla sólo en inglés. I looked into it a bit and it seems like it may be a bug in xubuntu but I saw some possible fixes regarding edits to audio.conf [01:50] I get the error: Connection Failed: Stream setup failed [01:51] after adding the device (JBL Pulse BT Speaker) and trying to use audio sink [02:41] is it possible to disable or remove blueman and use an alternate bluetooth manager? There seems to be a bug that has been addressed here and there but I can't get anything to work [02:44] i cannot help [02:45] it's cool I have been trying to figure this out for a minute but it seems that this is a known issue with blueman and I wanted to see if I could sidestep it all together.. [03:11] eikon81g: try installing pulseaudio-module-bluetooth [03:11] hey bluesabre [03:11] I can try that but I don't know if you remember or not but awhile back I had the issue with volume keys [03:11] do you think if I did that that it would mess up my hardkeys? they are working as of now [03:12] wouldn't mess up the volume keys [03:12] sudo pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover < I ran that and it says: Failure: Module initialization failed [03:12] is this because I need to install pulse audio? [03:13] I think the pulseaudio-module-bluetooth package resolves that (have to use that to pair my headphones) [03:14] ok I am on it. . do I apt-get a package? [03:14] yeah [03:14] sudo apt-get install pulseaudio-module-bluetooth [03:14] I got it in the software center that work too? [03:14] Ok [03:14] yes, software-center is a-ok [03:15] thanks again man I appreciate the assist I've been digging around. I edited the etc/bluetooth/audio.conf in several places to no avail.. [03:15] lol [03:16] for reference, http://askubuntu.com/a/432114/44796 [03:17] ok. I will check it.. real quick, I got that installed so I don't use blueman anymore right? [03:18] How do you compile a source code grom git without install.sh? [03:19] ok bluesabre I got a new error and I am further along than before I will attempt to get it going maybe one of my edits in audio.conf is now the issue! thanks again!! [03:19] eikon81g: best of luck [03:20] I'm trying to compile this one: https://github.com/irssi/irssi [03:21] xubuntu25w: Why is that? You know the package is in the repository? [03:22] Unit193: I know i know but I want to do have it from git [03:22] more up to date [03:24] Ah. Well you can just pull the one from devel/vivid and rebuild it then? [03:25] As in, grab the source, dpkg-buildpackage -tc it, then install the deb rather than manually building and having an "untracked" package. [03:27] I can have the tracked version with checkinstall [03:28] I just want to know how can you compile a program like this without a makefile and without install.sh or equivalent [03:28] Not really a great option, no. But anyway, there is an INSTALL doc with instructions if you do plan to continue, basically you'll need to run autogen.sh with some options. [03:30] It's using autotools stuff, so makefiles get generated with the configure script, which gets created from autogen crap. I'd still think it's better to use a released version from them rather than a git snapshot, unless you're trying to contribute. [03:31] Bluesabre!! I got it!! [03:31] eikon81g: congrats! [03:31] sudo apt-get install pulseaudio-module-bluetooth and then sudo pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover if anyone else comes to you with it [03:32] good to know [03:32] thanks so much!! :) hehe [03:32] Unit193: yes you're right I don't why they did the installation "so" complicated [03:32] It's not really "so complicated", and easier to maintain. [03:35] ok i read on their website that their git version is complicated to compile [03:35] but not actually the source code that they give on their website because with this version I can compile it without a problem [03:36] Which is to be expected... [03:40] it's working perfect tx unit bye [03:41] later yall thanks again bluesabre good to see ya Unit193 ttyl! [03:42] cheers eikon81g [03:42] Adios. [03:42] seeya eikon81g === remline_ is now known as remline [04:05] hmm should .exe files be associated with WINE? in thunar.. [04:05] id say, there is no "should" for that.. i use wine manually, since, there is not a gurantee, typically, that the .exe will support wine.. [04:05] yeah true enough [04:24] meh, operation flashpoint install didnt succeed [04:24] i guess that should be in xubuntu-offtopic [04:25] flashpoint? [04:25] !info flashpoint [04:25] Package flashpoint does not exist in utopic [07:42] ping [07:43] anyone here [07:43] nomic: don't ask to ask, just state your question and be patient [07:45] can't mount nfs with xubuntu 14.04 anymore [07:45] is there a known problem [08:19] Hi, how can i make my xface backlight daemon to save and restore the state of the backlight after restart ? [11:07] i didn't see any questions [11:10] knome, the shutdown scripts are still in /etc/rc0.d right? [11:11] i wouldn't know, i don't touch them [11:16] indeed it seems risky [11:24] hello for everybody! [14:45] Hello. [17:22] !themes [17:22] To change your theme in Xubuntu, go to Settings Manager -> Appearance (tabs Style, Icons) and/or Settings Manager -> Window Manager (tab Style). Starting with Xubuntu 13.10, you can control some of your theme colors from Settings Manager -> Theme Configuration. [19:36] In Thunar, is there any way, when using "Send To Desktop [Create Link]", to force making links throughout down the selected folders hierarchy rather than just the top level? [19:39] hello [20:19] Hi. I did something stupid and I don't know how to undo it. I was trying to mute the audio from my browser, and I hit Terminate Playback on Chrome in the Playback tab of Volume Control. Now Chrome doesn't show there and I can't figure out how to turn the sound back on. [20:20] Sound works in every program except Chrome, and Chrome thinks it's playing audio, but nothing shows under Playback in the Volume Control. [20:25] installed xfce 4.12 (dist-upgrade from earlier version) and now I'm getting some bug or something, I'm getting some semitransparent line on the screen, I'm seeing it in all the "windows" and also on the desktop [20:25] anyone know what could that be, I can make a screenshot [20:26] yes, please create a screenshot [20:28] http://imgur.com/Kfupwwgl.png [20:28] see bottom [20:30] any clues [20:31] try to toggle the compositor (window manager tweaks, last tab) [20:33] line disappers if I remove compositing (tho I'm not sure if i'm toggling the right thing since its not in english) [20:34] (my plank dock looks ugly if I untick that) [20:34] then if i tick it back line comes back and plank dock is nicer :) [20:35] uhm, close plank [20:35] also when i toggle it black color flashes right up to the "line" [20:35] maybe it's plank which triggers the line [20:37] yep without it no more line [20:37] how can i fix that? [20:37] so I can still use plank and everything [20:38] yeah if I turn plank back on line reappers [20:39] I don't know, inform the plank devs and maybe also file a bug report on the Xfce bug tracker [20:41] will do so [20:42] brainvvash_, do you maybe know if one has two panels in xfce 4.12 (one imitating a dock) can you make just one panel inteligently autohide while the other doesn't have that behaviour [20:42] so select behaviour for each panel [20:44] you can select a panel in the panel preferences and change its settings [20:45] doesn't this work for the autohide setting? [20:46] just asking theoretically, so you confirm [20:46] msev_: just tested it - you can [20:47] nice, then I'm gonna remove plank :D [20:52] msev_: please bear in mind I'm using vivid [20:53] 14.04 here & it works === bynarie is now known as bynarie_ === bynarie_ is now known as bynarie [23:12] This is probably a stupid question, but how do I bind bringing up the whisker menu to the windows button
