Now I wan't to use https with an self signed certificate. I tired this: http://pastebin.com/E1vDn8kk but it does not work :( (ubuntu 12.04 Server) [15:59] Hallo there. I have a problem regarding permissions and apache2. I set the www-data folder to /mnt/hdd/httpd and added myself to the www-data group. Everytime I upload a picture from my user, it's permission denied. I have set permissions for read/write too, didn't help much. Tried this: http://askubuntu.com/questions/19898/whats-the-simplest-way-to-edit-and-add-files-to-var-www Every help appreciated. [16:06] Howdy. I'm having what I think is a me-being-stupid problem with installing headless java runtime environments. I'm installing a .deb package (ciphermail) that depends on java6-runtime. Which is a virtual package provided by openjdk-[6][7]-jre or default-jre. I have the headless versions of those installed, but the unmet dependency is still showing up. [16:06] This program surely isn't meant to be requiring a whole X11 environment, so I know I must be going wrong in trying to install the non-headless versions... [17:08] rbasak, ping -- I forgot to ask when you're usually on, but I guess I'll find out :) [17:20] Alternate question: if I install all of the X11 windowing and audio components that the non-headless java runtime depends on, is there necessarily any performance hit to doing that, or do the packages just take up space on the drive? This is a cloud-hosted VPS, so it wouldn't generally be connected to a display or sound card... [17:45] MoPac, there's no performance hit unless you are actually running some of that stuff [17:45] squisher: cool; thanks [17:51] squisher: o/ [17:51] MoPac, btw, the correct solution to your problem is of course to ask the provider of the deb to actually list correct dependencies [17:51] squisher: 9-6 In EUrope/London normally [17:52] rbasak, I was guessing as much :) I'm in UTC-6, so I just have to remember to check in early in the day [17:52] squisher: so I favour git-buildpackage, unless you want to use git-dpm [17:52] +1 for gbp, that's what I was using before too [17:53] squisher: so I think the upstream branch should probably be identical to the agreed upstream VCS [17:53] The master branch would have just the debian packaging delta, and we should start off with that being the same as what is in unstable. [17:53] I don't mind if the master branch misses my history to get there (currently in my Github), but we could have that in. [17:54] squisher: how's your git-fu to arrange that? Or I can do it if you like? [17:54] well, why not? I don't think there's much extra effort required to do that if we're already importing upstream vcs [17:55] I'm not sure what other maintainers do with the pristine upstream tarball with this arrangement though. [17:55] my git foo is a good medium ;-) this one seems rather straight forward [17:55] I favour using pristine-tar, but I don't know where to get that tar from. [17:55] OK - I'll leave it to you then? Feel free to force push when you're ready. [17:55] yeah, pristine tar doesn't make much sense, but I think I had a branch for it anyway -- but I don't remember right now how I created the tarball [17:56] seems kinda superflous though, or should we keep doing pristine-tar when there is no official tarball? [17:56] The reason I'd like it is that I think we should keep a record of what orig.tar.gz we did upload in a pristine-tar branch, even if upstream doesn't publish it. [17:56] ok, sure [17:57] so I'd guess that the pristine-tar branch then doesn't need an update even, but I'll double check [17:57] Yes that sounds right [17:58] great. Do you know how that "description" thing works? [17:58] just for the anon-git web listing [18:02] squisher: https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/gitweb.html suggests "git config gitweb.description" or a flat file with the contents. Both of which I think maybe need jamespage to amend for us. [18:03] rbasak, not a high prio of course but I think it'd be nice to have [18:03] let's get the initial layout done first, then request that [18:04] OK [18:06] rbasak, I'll try to get that stuff done tonight and will ping you again afterwards [18:06] Thanks! === mgagne is now known as mgagne_PHL === a1berto_ is now known as a1berto === unreal_ is now known as unreal === arlen is now known as arlen_ === arlen_ is now known as arlen === kickinz1 is now known as kickinz1|afk === kickinz1|afk is now known as kickinz1 [19:48] hi [19:48] how you are?
