[11:43] I mean, which is installed in the distribution by default [11:45] inlakech, appears to be jack2 [11:45] oki thanks [11:45] I found it hard to figure out ^_^ [11:46] did you use a command to figure out, or check docs? [11:46] inlakech, dpkg -l jack [11:46] jack* [11:47] ahh [11:48] useful command that, thanks [11:48] inlakech, happy2help! [13:37] Hi, folks, I'm sort of new to this chat media, have been using Ubuntu Studio for quite some time and would like to express my gratefulness to this software, It has greatly improved in the last years and is quite stable and fun to use! [13:37] :) [16:04] Installed a week ago dssi-vst adapter on my 64 bit machine, and the installation deleted some programs i.e. Rosegarden. [16:04] The matter is, now I lost my fluidsynth-dssi plugin too. [16:04] Howto get it back. Qsynth is not working satisfying, so it is no alternative now. [16:05] Can anybody give any advice? [18:23] Bernhard_L: sudo apt-get install or the package manager of your choice [18:23] sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install rosegarden ..likely [18:24] holstein, yes I did, but the fluidsynth-dssi plugin went lost before too. [18:24] holstein, this is what I have a problem. [18:24] and maybe other dssi plugins. [18:24] Bernhard_L: went lost? [18:25] you mean, you added a PPA? or 3rd party source? and now, you have to choose between the packages that are supported? [18:25] Yes when trying to install the vst-dssi adapter they were deleted too. [18:25] I did it from the package manager. [18:26] holstein, no, no [18:26] I didn't at any third party ppa. It was in the repository. [18:26] add [18:26] you can try "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install rosegarden --no-install-recommends" [18:27] otherwise, use a pastebin to try and share messages.. [18:27] !paste [18:27] For posting multi-line texts into the channel, please use http://paste.ubuntu.com | To post !screenshots use http://imgur.com/ !pastebinit to paste directly from command line | Make sure you give us the URL for your paste - see also the channel topic. [18:28] holstein, do you think this will bring fluidsynth-dssi plugin back? [18:29] Bernhard_L: no.. as i said, its a suggestion to try to install rosegarden, when its removed by installing that plugin [18:29] try it reall quick and see.. and share m [18:29] "messages" in the pastebin [18:30] holstein, okay [18:31] holstein, I already installed rosegarden, but am missing the plugin. [18:32] Bernhard_L: sure, friend [18:32] Bernhard_L: please *install* said plugin [18:32] Bernhard_L: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install fluidsynth-dssi [18:32] *then*, share the messages.. and see if rosegarden is removed [18:33] *if* it is, then, use the command i linked above.. sudo apt-get install rosegarden --no-install-recommends [18:33] share output in a pastebin.. i dont know what you are seeing from your system.. [18:34] holstein, I think I got it now. [18:34] fluidsynth-dssi (1.0.0-6ubuntu1) wird eingerichtet ... [18:36] holstein, thank you very much. It is there again. [18:36] I am happy. [18:38] Bernhard_L: cheers! [21:31] is ubuntu studio xfce or unity? [21:35] xfce by default
