tpmnghihi there01:48
tpmnghiis there any plan for Gnome 3.12+ on Ubuntu 14.04?01:49
l3onwhat about updating nautilus 3.16 in g3-staging ppa?09:13
darkxstl3on, we will, but its a big mess with ubuntu patches and the huge rewrite09:32
l3onI always thought that g3-* repos give users the capability to have a full GNOME experience .. isn't it ?09:33
l3ondarkxst, ^09:34
darkxstl3on, yes and probably we will just disable the ubuntu patches09:35
darkxstfor now09:35
l3onthat's great09:35
darkxstbut we are also busy with vivid once that quietens down, then the rest of 3.15 will come up on the ppa's09:35
towoIs colord logspam addressed in 15.04?09:35
darkxst(hint: we could always use help here!)09:36
darkxsttowo, what spam?09:36
l3onthanks for the info darkxst o/09:36
towodarkxst: http://pastebin.com/g7xvBJqs every 5 minutes (those are printers cups can't connect to atm)09:39
towothermald's also acting weird, but that's outside the ubuntu-gnome scope there ;)09:40
towo$ grep -c colord syslog09:40
towo84709:40
towosyslog rotated at 8.1509:40
towo(err... two and a half hours ago)09:40
dz0nyalso tracker-extract: is trying to index my sftp mount, anyone noticed this which results in UI lockups09:42
darkxsttowo, so is colord really, however if colord is adding and removing the device that seems like a bug somewhere else09:43
darkxstdz0ny, is your sftp mount in your home-dir?09:43
towodarkxst: It's trying to add, giving up after a certain amount of fails, and then retries again. But wasn't colord gnome? ISTR it's not part of the systemd blob.09:44
dz0nydarkxst: gvfs09:44
dz0nydarkxst: https://paste.sh/A-6td42j#td8B8wg4fG4iIefxICZEP6mK09:47
dz0nyand then entire gnome-shell would lock for 5-10s every 10s09:47
darkxsttowo, file a bug all flavours including Ubuntu use colord09:47
towodarkxst, will do09:47
darkxstdz0ny, that looks wierd to me, will check with upstream09:50
darkxstdz0ny, can you file a bug09:51
dz0nydarkxst: gnome or ubuntu?09:52
darkxstdz0ny, either is fine, thought his does look like a gnome issue09:59
dz0nydarkxst: in meanwhile how can i disable tracker?10:02
darkxstdz0ny, not easily, you may be able to black list the problematic shares in tracker-perferences10:04
darkxstdz0ny, perhaps try later on #tracker on gimpnet, no one around atm though10:09
pcchouhi10:55
pcchouI am using Ubuntu GNOME 14.1010:56
darkxstpcchou, great! you like it?10:56
pcchouyeah, but there's one problem right now10:56
darkxst!ask10:57
ubot5Please don't ask to ask a question, simply ask the question (all on ONE line and in the channel, so that others can read and follow it easily). If anyone knows the answer they will most likely reply. :-) See also !patience10:57
pcchouI want to change the "Switch to next input source" shortcut to ctrl+space10:57
pcchou( it was super+space)10:57
darkxstand?10:57
pcchouit just doesn't work, I think something else is intercepting it10:58
darkxstpcchou, gnome-control-center should tell you if you have a conflicting combo10:59
pcchoudarkxst: It isn't something in the control center10:59
darkxsthow did you set it then?10:59
pcchouoh, by it I mean "the thingy that intercepting my ctrl+space, before it was sent to ibus/control center11:00
pcchouI don't know what it may be, and nothing is triggered when I press the key combo ctrl+spacew11:00
pcchous/w$//11:00
darkxstpcchou, sure, gnome-shell intercepts all your keystrokes11:01
darkxsttry changing the shortcut via gnome-control-center11:01
pcchoudarkxst: I think I didn't explain clear enough... I am able to set "switch to nex input source" to ctrl+space without any trouble in control center11:02
pcchoubut when I press it, nothing is triggered.11:02
pcchouany other combo that isn't already taken will work though11:05
darkxstpcchou, I'm not very familiar with the input stack11:05
pcchouBTW, I can set other keyboard shortcut in control center to ctrl+space, and they will work11:08
pcchouso it's kind of interesting11:09
darkxstpcchou, file a bug, and maybe ask attente if you can catch him in one of the ubuntu channels11:10
pcchoualso, I've googled about it before, lots of people seemed are troubled by ibus catching their ctrl+space in prior versions11:11
darkxstpcchou, I suppose its possible ibus is eating the combo's but I have no ever looked at ibus11:13
darkxstand if it is you should file a bug, since it will affect all Ubuntu's11:14
pcchouI hadn't tested with other ubuntu flavours11:14
darkxstpcchou, idk, there were problems with modifier only shortcuts (i.e ctl+shift) but not heard of ctl+space being munched up11:25
taharqaHi there13:58
taharqado you know a good todo/task management [for gnome shell] ?13:58
taharqagood UI/UX , intuitive etc etc13:58
LinDolhi all14:44
hackedbelliniHey guys. I'm trying the latest vivid iso and after enabling the screen keyboard, it is not appearing when I'm at a text entry. On trusty, it used to appear every time I was focused on a field that I could type, on vivid, the only place it apeared was on the wifi password modal dialog. It won't open for gnome-terminal, nautilus, etc17:34
hackedbelliniia also appears on the shell's search entry (so basically on all shell's ui elements), but not on the applications17:38
georgeowellhey all :)18:15
georgeowellHas anyone ever considered re-skinning the website for the project19:09
georgeowellI feel like it lags behind some of the other ubuntu desktop's sites19:09
georgeowellits a bit wordpressy19:11
georgeowellI'm not a web developer but I'd definitely chuck in a few £ towards a redesign19:12
georgeowellE.G. the screenshots are super old19:14
georgeowelland it'd be nice for it to follow the design ethos of gnome 319:18
