[01:48] hi there [01:49] is there any plan for Gnome 3.12+ on Ubuntu 14.04? [09:13] what about updating nautilus 3.16 in g3-staging ppa? [09:32] l3on, we will, but its a big mess with ubuntu patches and the huge rewrite [09:33] I always thought that g3-* repos give users the capability to have a full GNOME experience .. isn't it ? [09:34] darkxst, ^ [09:35] l3on, yes and probably we will just disable the ubuntu patches [09:35] for now [09:35] that's great [09:35] but we are also busy with vivid once that quietens down, then the rest of 3.15 will come up on the ppa's [09:35] Is colord logspam addressed in 15.04? [09:36] (hint: we could always use help here!) [09:36] towo, what spam? [09:36] thanks for the info darkxst o/ [09:39] darkxst: http://pastebin.com/g7xvBJqs every 5 minutes (those are printers cups can't connect to atm) [09:40] thermald's also acting weird, but that's outside the ubuntu-gnome scope there ;) [09:40] $ grep -c colord syslog [09:40] 847 [09:40] syslog rotated at 8.15 [09:40] (err... two and a half hours ago) [09:42] also tracker-extract: is trying to index my sftp mount, anyone noticed this which results in UI lockups [09:43] towo, so is colord really, however if colord is adding and removing the device that seems like a bug somewhere else [09:43] dz0ny, is your sftp mount in your home-dir? [09:44] darkxst: It's trying to add, giving up after a certain amount of fails, and then retries again. But wasn't colord gnome? ISTR it's not part of the systemd blob. [09:44] darkxst: gvfs [09:47] darkxst: https://paste.sh/A-6td42j#td8B8wg4fG4iIefxICZEP6mK [09:47] and then entire gnome-shell would lock for 5-10s every 10s [09:47] towo, file a bug all flavours including Ubuntu use colord [09:47] darkxst, will do [09:50] dz0ny, that looks wierd to me, will check with upstream [09:51] dz0ny, can you file a bug [09:52] darkxst: gnome or ubuntu? [09:59] dz0ny, either is fine, thought his does look like a gnome issue [10:02] darkxst: in meanwhile how can i disable tracker? [10:04] dz0ny, not easily, you may be able to black list the problematic shares in tracker-perferences [10:09] dz0ny, perhaps try later on #tracker on gimpnet, no one around atm though [10:55] hi [10:56] I am using Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 [10:56] pcchou, great! you like it? [10:56] yeah, but there's one problem right now [10:57] !ask [10:57] Please don't ask to ask a question, simply ask the question (all on ONE line and in the channel, so that others can read and follow it easily). If anyone knows the answer they will most likely reply. :-) See also !patience [10:57] I want to change the "Switch to next input source" shortcut to ctrl+space [10:57] ( it was super+space) [10:57] and? [10:58] it just doesn't work, I think something else is intercepting it [10:59] pcchou, gnome-control-center should tell you if you have a conflicting combo [10:59] darkxst: It isn't something in the control center [10:59] how did you set it then? [11:00] oh, by it I mean "the thingy that intercepting my ctrl+space, before it was sent to ibus/control center [11:00] I don't know what it may be, and nothing is triggered when I press the key combo ctrl+spacew [11:00] s/w$// [11:01] pcchou, sure, gnome-shell intercepts all your keystrokes [11:01] try changing the shortcut via gnome-control-center [11:02] darkxst: I think I didn't explain clear enough... I am able to set "switch to nex input source" to ctrl+space without any trouble in control center [11:02] but when I press it, nothing is triggered. [11:05] any other combo that isn't already taken will work though [11:05] pcchou, I'm not very familiar with the input stack [11:08] BTW, I can set other keyboard shortcut in control center to ctrl+space, and they will work [11:09] so it's kind of interesting [11:10] pcchou, file a bug, and maybe ask attente if you can catch him in one of the ubuntu channels [11:11] also, I've googled about it before, lots of people seemed are troubled by ibus catching their ctrl+space in prior versions [11:13] pcchou, I suppose its possible ibus is eating the combo's but I have no ever looked at ibus [11:14] and if it is you should file a bug, since it will affect all Ubuntu's [11:14] I hadn't tested with other ubuntu flavours [11:25] pcchou, idk, there were problems with modifier only shortcuts (i.e ctl+shift) but not heard of ctl+space being munched up [13:58] Hi there [13:58] do you know a good todo/task management [for gnome shell] ? [13:58] good UI/UX , intuitive etc etc [14:44] hi all [17:34] Hey guys. I'm trying the latest vivid iso and after enabling the screen keyboard, it is not appearing when I'm at a text entry. On trusty, it used to appear every time I was focused on a field that I could type, on vivid, the only place it apeared was on the wifi password modal dialog. It won't open for gnome-terminal, nautilus, etc [17:38] ia also appears on the shell's search entry (so basically on all shell's ui elements), but not on the applications [18:15] hey all :) [19:09] Has anyone ever considered re-skinning the website for the project [19:09] I feel like it lags behind some of the other ubuntu desktop's sites [19:11] its a bit wordpressy [19:12] I'm not a web developer but I'd definitely chuck in a few £ towards a redesign [19:14] E.G. the screenshots are super old [19:18] and it'd be nice for it to follow the design ethos of gnome 3 [23:23] hi all :) [23:34] so, [23:35] I am translating in our wikipage. [23:35] so what is different mean 'please read' and 'please do read'? [23:48] ah.. "please do read" and "please don't read"?
