[01:56] Evening [02:09] howdy cmaloney [13:51] morning [15:08] morn [16:14] cmaloney are you still rocking tagspaces? i've found that the chrome evernote app seems to work pretty well on ubuntu. [16:14] I'm using Tagspaces [16:15] Going to do a presentation on it at Penguicon along with the rest of my GTD implementation [16:15] The Chrome Tagspaces extension is problematic though [16:15] WEll, let me rephrase [16:15] the Android Tagspaces doesn't integrate with Dropbox [16:15] and Chrome tagspaces is no better than the native client [16:16] ah [16:16] Plus Tagspaces requires a tablet [16:16] i was thinking of switching BUT i use the evernote app all the time on my ipad. [16:16] so instead I use Drafts [16:17] on the phone [16:17] Which is equvalent but doesn't understand Tagspaces tagging [16:17] that's unfortunate [16:17] too bad tagspaces won't sync with evernote [16:19] Yeah, Evernote is pretty closed-off [16:19] Which is why I switched [16:19] Plus I can use vim on my notes if I want [16:19] which is a plus [16:20] i know. also too bad they dont' make a native linux app. BUT i use it on all my other devices. i'm using ifttt a lot to put stuff in my evernote from other sources [16:20] Yeah, that's the other problem [16:20] Evernote has a lot if interfaces, but not a lot of exports. :) [16:21] I don't know if you could replicate ifttt on Dropbox [16:21] so... i forgot how much i loved ubuntu. and the experience on this Dell is like... the machine and the OS were designed together (like the macbook and OSX). [16:22] no idea, but i think you can connect ifttt to dropbox. [16:22] not sure if it will work with individual files though [16:23] https://ifttt.com/channels/dropbox/actions/67-create-a-text-file [16:23] Looks like it'll create files [16:23] not sure if it'll update files [16:23] no idea. [16:23] i guess you can try it [16:24] If I used ifttt then I would. :) [16:24] lol [16:24] But that's too life-hacky for me. :) [16:24] :) too automated? [16:24] I prefer to not rely on a service that might go away [16:24] true [16:24] but you use dropbox. i don't think dropbox and evernote will be going anywhere anytime soon [16:25] How foes ifttt make money? [16:25] Well, Dropbox can be replaced with Owncloud [16:25] no idea [16:25] so I'm not so worried [16:25] and I pay Dropbox $9.99 a month to not go away. [16:25] So far they've kept up their end of the bargain [16:26] the Android Todo.txt uses Dropbox exclusively [16:26] i'm not paying for dropbox but i'm paying for evernote [16:26] and I use CamScanner which uploads to Dropbox so I can take photos of paper and have it automagically tuend into PDFs [16:27] So I have most of the functionality I used in Evernote [16:27] ooo [16:27] nice! [16:27] OCR in Evernote was problematic because even human beings have problems with my handwriting [16:27] ok so ifttt is free but i'm betting they'll start charging for "more than X recipes" sometime soon [16:27] hence why you type everything... :-P [16:28] http://www.quora.com/How-does-IFTTT-make-money [16:28] It's a service I provide the world. [16:28] they have do and if, they'll start charging for while and until [16:28] or maybe for case [16:28] dzho: Heh [16:29] You pay for "do what I mean" [16:30] http://xkcd.com/1482/ [16:30] Drop E [16:30] Drop E [16:30] Drop E [16:30] Drop E [16:31] LOL [16:31] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H7xo-XD2oc <- For those who don't know what Drop E is. [16:32] something that my brother would know. [16:32] :) [16:32] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8S-F3DKA-8 [16:49] heavy. [22:39] rick_h_: nice, thanks [22:45] i actualy have the x240 (RIP hardware buttons), but this has some pretty good overall notes [23:12] widox: ah cool
