I am using Lubuntu to make a multiboot USB, but I am struggling to write entries for the grub.cfg file. I am having trouble with Memtest 5.20 and Seatools. I would be super appreciative of anyone who can provide grub config entries for those images. I would be even more appreciative of someone who can describe the procedures necessary for determining the [00:33] molyy_millions what do you mean by multiboot usb do you mean a usb where you can install multiple different distributions or do you mean a spinning usb hard disc that boots multilple diffrent distributions on it ? I have expirence with the second but not with the first [00:33] I will link the guidelines I used to construct this tool: http://www.circuidipity.com/multi-boot-usb.html [00:34] So, a USB stick. [00:35] I haven't done manual grub config really but be careful not to lose it as you will lose several installers if you lose that one USB stick [00:37] It's very convenient to have several installers and tools on one USB and also be able to use the stick for normal storage purposes, so I'd really appreciate any knowledge or resources related to writing grub.cfg entries. [00:39] I have this working with ubuntu.mini, debian.mini, dban, and ubuntu live because of the above link, but I am unable to find working entries for Memtest 5.20 and Seatools on Google. [00:39] on most desktop an altenate images there is already memtest included [00:40] but not sure of the version [00:42] ianorlin: Thank you. That's useful to know, though it does take a lot more time to boot into Ubuntu, for instance. I'd love to get this working with SeaTools because I have a machine with apparent HD failure and I am too lazy to burn a disk at the moment or use another USB. I'd like one stick to rule them all. [00:42] also lubuntu live session has the gnome-disks tools which can check smart even on usb hard drvies [00:44] ianorlin: Okay, hmm, maybe I'll have to go with that. At least then I will still have the satisfaction of using the thumbdrive. [00:45] I am still curious about the composition of grub.cfg entries. How does one know what to write there? [00:46] For example: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Multiboot_USB_drive#Configuring_GRUB [00:46] Maybe I should ask in #arch. [05:25] waddup my nigs [07:24] hey guys, anyone aliveto help a lubuntu newbie out? ^_^ [15:43] hi [15:43] can somone help me [15:43] i want to increse sound [15:44] cuz 100% too low [15:44] i tryed to install puls audio and pavucontrol [15:44] but i think it dosent work [15:45] i incresed to 150 nothing heppend [15:45] i think it has somthing to do whit lubuntu not having default pulse audio [16:15] hi [16:15] me again [16:16] i instaled PulseAudio [16:16] first problem i head is all videos were playing super fast until i changed default device [16:16] now it all works normal [16:16] but i have 1 more problem [16:17] trey icon crashed [16:17] after install [16:17] and when i remove want to add new it crashes again [16:18] \lol [16:18] i just removed [16:18] it again [16:18] and now it works [16:18] lol [16:18] hope it works after restart === Mohi is now known as IAmNotThatGuy [20:38] hi [20:39] I know there are some here who are keen and have sharp knowledge on the lubuntu system. What process creates the lubuntu-rc.xml? If someone here knows? [20:44] I don't know how the config file is generated during install === HairyFotr1 is now known as HairyFotr [20:48] It's not "generated", it's /usr/share/lubuntu/openbox/rc.xml === dldurk_ is now known as dldurk [20:52] hi Unit193 [20:52] Howdy, melodie. [20:53] I will look into it. Do you know how it is redone, session after session? (replacing or removing it does not work paste the session) [20:54] I have seen 4 files in the sources where the variable home config is mentioned not far in the same line as the chain lubuntu-rc.xml [20:55] in the sources of lxsession I mean [21:07] Unit193 ? [23:55] Hey!?
