pmatulison 14.04 i'm surprised to see all my private ssh keys within ssh-agent after reboot, with no entering of passphrases on my part.  i've googled around and tried editing /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring-ssh.desktop .  i've also unchecked ssh-agent in the GUI menus.  all to no avail. anyone have a proper answer to this?12:07
leszekpmatulis: pam is taking care of it after login from the lightdm login manager12:07
pmatulisleszek: srsly?  so i need to edit something under /etc/pam.d ?12:08
leszekpmatulis: that is common standard nowadays in all desktops. Not sure how to disable it though.12:09
pmatulisleszek: i consider it a huge security problem to do this by default and also make it so hard to undo12:10
pmatulisbut i'm sure it's a ubuntu problem and not something special in lubuntu12:10
leszekpmatulis: it is actually common along all distributions as far as I know. Convenience issue12:11
pmatulisi mean, passphrases exist for a reason, they protect your keys ffs12:11
pmatulisi see pam_gnome_keyring.so getting invoked under pam.d.  so i should be able to configure gnome-keyring itself somewhere else12:13
kopplehi everyone, is LXDE customizable in icons and panels size?16:26
kopplehttp://wiki.lxde.org/en/LXPanel I don't currently have a copy of Lubuntu now, I read here you can enlarge the width and height with the files inside /home/user/.config/lxpanel/profilename/panels but would this enlarge the icons too?16:31
linux_dreamhi guys I have a problem with firefox17:27
linux_dreamevery time I click on a link, say from hexchat's irc,  it opens firefox (fine)  but instead of loading the link, it starts firefox on the principal page17:27
linux_dreamhow can I fix this17:28
acecipherHmmm17:28
wxlsounds like a firefox issue17:28
wxlbut i'm pretty sure there's some settings about opening links in new windows17:28
wxlin firefox17:28
wxlhunt around in preferences17:28
acecipherYeah17:28
acecipherYeahAlso a workaround is to copy the links17:28
linux_dreamyeah but it's cumbersome to copy the links17:29
linux_dreamfor example when I use a news feeder and just want to read a particular news... it starts firefox instead of loading the news17:29
acecipherYes17:29
acecipherXP17:29
linux_dreamwell thanks, that worked17:31
jay111why is it when I format a usb stick in lubuntu it disappears in PCManFM ?19:48
jay111my usb stick is recognized in Disks but PCManFM  no longer shows 32USB when I plug in my usb stick ?19:49
jay111my usb stick is no longer detected in the file manager19:50
leszekjay111: did you format it with disks or gparted ? Which filesystem did you choose ?19:51
jay111disks19:52
jay111disks--->quick format19:52
leszekjay111: maybe disks did something wrong there. Can you please check with gparted and see what it might did wrong19:54
jay111im new to linux, how do I access gparted19:55
jay111ok im installing gparted right now19:56
jay111im in gparted19:57
jay111it says unallocated19:57
jay111leszek you there ?20:01
jay111im in gparted, its saying my usb in unallocated and its giving me the option to create a new partition20:02
wxljay111: sounds like you formatted it without giving it a filesystem, which explains why it doesn't show up in the file manager20:03
jay111how do i give it a filesystem ?20:03
wxlmake a partition :)20:04
wxli'd suggest ext320:04
jay111it says free space preceding20:05
leszekjay111: yeah just create a new partition and format it ext4 or 3 if you only want to use it on linux20:05
* leszek wonders will no sound notification is played back if someone mentions me20:06
* wxl mentions leszek for fun20:06
jay111its a 30 gb stick,  what should i set the free space preceding number too ?20:06
wxljay111: 0 if you want to use the whole thing ☺20:06
wxl…unless, for some odd reason, you want space before your partition20:07
wxlcan't imagine you would20:07
jay111got it20:07
jay111now lets see if it detects20:07
wxloh and leszek made a good point20:07
wxluse fat32 if you want to use with other machines20:08
wxlnon-linux20:08
jay111its still not detected20:10
jay111made the ext3 partition in gparted but its not showing up in PcFMman20:11
wxldid it give you a notification when you plugged it in?20:12
wxlwith an option to mount it?20:12
jay111nope20:12

pauledI mean 14.04/14.1020:13
jay111great I got it20:14
jay111just had to partition in Disks rather than in gparted20:14

jay111your right wxl,  i did not click on the nike check mark in gparted , thanks for your help awesome20:18
pauledwxl: The picture speaks for itself. No need to understand Chinese to see that there is a lock and the word "session".20:20
wxlpauled: well, it doesn't speak to me.20:20
pauledwxl: Well, I'll translate for you. The message say this: "This session is locked You will be automatically redirected to the unlocker window in few seconds.."20:24
pauledExcept that it never happens.20:24
wxlpauled: tell me how you get to that. what sequence of events occur before you reach it, starting from reboot?20:32
pauledwxl: This occurred after a period of inactivity, then the session is closed automatically when I was conducting a major update.20:38
wxlpauled: you might want to reboot. alternately, open a virtual terminal and search for processes that have "lock" in them and kill them.20:40
pauledwxl: thanks but too late, I already shutting down the system20:43
wxlpauled: so it works now?20:45

sakangi'm still stumped as to why pcmanfm sorts the other way (as if right to left) in lubuntu session vs lxde session.  I installed thunar just for comparison and it behaves wrongly too.23:16
sakangI installed caja and mate, and caja also behaves wrongly in lubuntu session.  In mate session they all behaves correctly just like in lxde.23:18
sakangI only have en-us locale23:19
ianorlinsakang, I don't know23:21
sakangianorlin: I know you tried to duplicate. I tried looking into the lubuntu-default-settings but I couldn't see any clue.23:24
wxlmight be lxsession sakang23:25
wxlit's went through some interesting changes lately23:25
ianorlin!bug23:25
