[10:20] Bug #1435767 was opened: Retry mechanism fails with oauth-authenticated requests [11:20] Bug #1435793 was opened: When a serialization error occurs (after all the retries have been done), MAAS returns a 500 [11:50] Bug #1435810 was opened: Retried views are passed empty files === wojdev_ is now known as wojdev [13:51] good morning, I am having an issue with logging in to boxes that are created by maas. [13:52] I have generated my ssh keys and added them to the maas user profile but when I try to log in I am prompted for a password for the ubuntu user [13:52] is there a requirement for a certain type of ssh key? or size? === jfarschman is now known as MilesDenver [14:08] Bug #1434709 changed: Node failed to successfully commission [14:20] as long as I am asking newb questions, is there something that needs to be done to make reverse lookups work? [14:21] mrhatch, no, it should work out of the box [14:21] mrhatch, hmm, with ssh, that's odd to say the least [14:21] mrhatch, you added the keys before installing the node right? [14:22] if you change the keys later that doesn't get propagated to the existing nodes [14:28] II did add the keys before installing the node [14:29] kiko, it seems to be hit or miss. I have rebuilt the maas server several times and twice it has worked and three times it hasn't [14:29] I have tried just key-gen -t rsa [14:30] and it didn't work [14:30] always prompts me for a password [14:35] I am going to tear down the server and start from scratch and document everything after the install disk ejects and see if I can figure out what I am doing wrong [14:43] mrhatch, oh, are you using 1.5 or 1.7? [14:44] I am guessing it is 1.7, but I am not sure it is whatever is on the current 14.04.1 distro disk [14:45] it's 1.5 for the moment [14:45] unfortunately [14:45] you should install 1.7 from the PPA [14:45] we are working on the update [14:45] do you think that could be part of the problem? [14:45] yes [14:45] I should be able to upgrade without killing the whole machine right? [14:46] yes, but purging might be harder than it looks [14:46] could that also be the reason I am having difficulty with the reverse dns lookups? [14:46] i.e. really purge /var/lib/maas /etc/maas [14:47] so probably better to do a generic 14.04 install and then add the maas packages? [14:47] it will be more straightforward [14:47] but we can help you either way [14:47] mrhatch, how many nodes will you be controlling, out of curiosity? [14:48] hopefully I will be able to get back to this in the late afternoon or early evening...I am at the customer site and the machines are at home [14:48] gotcha [14:48] you are using maas for your customer? [14:49] I am exploring the use of maas and juju for deploying to bare metal. Our customer requires bare metal installations, the only thing that is scaring me is juju needing an intialization server for each config you want to maintain [14:50] we want to get into that business model. We develop web applications for various federal customers and they are still cloud phobic [14:51] I would like to be able to add 2-3 servers and configure them using maas and juju for each particular contract we have. Sometimes it is apache, django and mysql on two servers [14:51] other times it might be tomcat and mysql on a single server instance [14:52] since the data center is over an hour away, it would be nice to have someone who lives closer install hardware in the rack and then be able to remotely configure and test [18:53] Do I need to install MAAS in order to install OpenStack on a single server? | http://askubuntu.com/q/600805 === wojdev_ is now known as wojdev [19:24] Bug #1436027 was opened: interfaces does not have entry for eth0 [21:55] Bug #1436080 was opened: package maas-region-controller 1.7.1+bzr3341-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
