snadgeok so something broke pptp vpn in network manager about 2 or 3 days ago08:43
snadgeive been waiting on an update to fix it .. just looked for an acknowledgement of the issue in launchpad.. nothing yet08:44
snadgeim going to assume that its networkmanager thats broken.. i dont think its systemd related.. because it was working with systemd08:45
ikoniathen why assume it's network manager08:45
ikoniaas it was also working with network manager08:45
ikoniaand now it's not08:45
ikoniaso that doesn't really seem logical08:45
snadgethats what im trying to figure out.. it was working.. installed some updates.. now not working08:45
ikoniaso again why assume it is  / is not a package08:46
snadgeso im trying to figure out which update broke it08:46
ikoniahave you logged a bug against it ?08:46
ikoniahave you got other people to verify/test08:46
snadgenot yet no.. since i dont know which update broke it.. and therefore what was responsible08:47
ikonianot sure what you want the channel to do then ?08:47
snadgeNetworkManager[950]: <error> [1427273345.985261] [vpn-manager/nm-vpn-connection.c:1778] get_secrets_cb(): Failed to request VPN secrets #2: (6) No agents were available for this request.08:49
snadgethats all i've got.. i've tried creating a new vpn connection and same thing08:49
snadgethats probably why i assumed it was network manager08:49
snadgehttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-vpnc/+bug/1297849 :D08:50
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1297849 in network-manager-vpnc (Ubuntu) "Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files" [High,Triaged]08:51
ikoniathat doesn't look like the same bug08:52
snadgeok cool if i log in as a different user.. it works08:56
snadgeso now i can at least assume that something in my users settings are screwed08:57

micmordbug #143639515:34
ubottubug 1436395 in kde-l10n-it (Ubuntu) "overwrite plasma_applet_org.kde.ktp-presence.mo" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/143639515:34
maelcumhello. i have permission issues with sound and graphics on vivid / systemd. alsamixer (and audio players) don't have permission to anything in /dev/snd/, and  glxinfo (and other opengl applications) don't have permission to anything in /dev/dri/.20:41
maelcumi am using a self compiled xorg stack and no pulseaudio20:41
maelcumi *am* in the audio and video groups20:41
maelcumfrom what ls displays, i should have permission through those groups. even clearing extended attributes (there was a + at the end of the permissions as displayed by ls -l) doesn't help.20:42
maelcumon /dev/snd/* and /dev/dri/* that is20:43
maelcumany ideas?20:43
maelcumhow does one even debug why permission to something was denied if it's not acls and not posix permissions?20:43
maelcumwhat the... chmod ugo+rwx /dev/snd/* makes (at least) alsamixer work, chmod o-rwx makes it fail again. but i'm in the audio group!20:49
maelcumsince two reboots ago or so, so it's not that my new membership hasn't propagated.20:49
maelcumwhat the hell is going on?20:50
