[00:17] hmm right [00:17] knome, krytarik, did you get any common gorund? [00:17] * groud [00:17] sighs [00:17] ground [00:17] lol [00:18] I think we decided that knome sleeps over it. :P [00:18] probably better [00:18] bah you're not sleeping knome, you're tutoring [00:18] i like how the chapter references are kept as is [00:18] but otoh, it does make the references stay inconsistent [00:19] in a different, more annoying way [00:19] ok, we'll get back to this tomorrow [00:19] yep [00:19] will you still be around tomorrow krytarik? [00:19] Yep. [00:19] great [00:20] And Monday. [00:20] noooo way [00:20] EVEN *MON-DAY* [00:20] Well, I'm leaving Tuesday for 1.5 weeks. ;P [00:20] oh [00:21] where to? [00:21] Visiting my mom over Easter. [00:21] why did i convert that to "your mom" automatically in my head [00:21] he'll be his mother Easter egg [00:21] and even thought "WHAT!" [00:21] slickymaster, ouch... :P [00:25] slickymaster, your wikipage is outdated :P [00:25] ?! [00:25] how's so? [00:25] well look at it yourself [00:27] not sure what there is outdated [00:27] The section called "Contributions" does not outline your Xubuntu activities lately particularly well. [00:28] no it doesn't [00:29] but if you haven't mentioned I'd never noticed [00:29] lol [00:29] yeah... [00:30] that's why i try to keep my storytelling to my own blog [00:30] my wikipage is outdated too :P [00:30] yeah [02:35] Seanie? [02:44] Snagged, bagged and soon tagged xfdash .91 [02:56] Hrm. soundmenu and hamster didn't get rebuilt for libxfce4util7. === gnu is now known as Guest60716 [08:13] usb-creator-gtk update has successfully made a bootable usb-stick with Lubuntu-vivid-daily.iso(20150328). The iso contains the syslinux files required for it to work. It boots straight into the menu (BIOS legacy mode) with the language selector overlaid. I had first completely remove both usb-creator-gtk & -common ; and then install the Utopic versions : [08:13] https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/usb-creator-common_0.2.62ubuntu0.2_amd64.deb [08:13] https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/usb-creator-gtk_0.2.62ubuntu0.2_amd64.deb [08:15] So now, I guess, we only need Xubuntu iso to include these file? Though I did not drr them included in the manifest of the current pending build . [08:18] you know this is a generic issue and not just xubuntu? [08:20] Yes I know elfy, but it is only the Xubuntu iso that is still to be updated. evey other flavour seems to have done so. [09:46] bluesabre: running xfpm from the ppa, crashes apparently, can't report it as PPA, but have unpacked the crash report and have them all available if you want them [11:34] Unit193: want to rebuild those packages? [11:35] elfy: ochosi might be more interested in that [11:45] true enough [11:50] elfy: want to test a thunar package today to see if it works any worse for you? [11:50] looking to fix https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11450 for those affected, though it doesn't affect all users, so also avoiding any regressions [11:50] bugzilla.xfce.org bug 11450 in core "Thunar 1.64, 1.65, & 1.66 crash when moving files" [Critical,Resolved: fixed] [11:55] I would - but not being affected here [11:56] k, I'll upload to staging then [11:57] I also have an affected user testing on 14.04 :) [11:58] that always helps :) [11:59] mhm [11:59] half the time I suspect you need to have random package installed the same as someone reporting [12:00] just tested vm - works in there too [12:00] I have a previous version of the patch that fixed the issue for me at work, so I have high hopes [12:01] I'm often copy/pasting stuff - I've never seen thunar crash while doing it [12:04] tried to and from a stick - working here [12:04] it doesn't affect my laptop [12:04] but on my work desktop, it crashes immediately every time [12:04] so its one of *those* bugs [12:04] I'll boot laptop then [12:05] that's vanilla xubuntu [12:05] chocolate xubuntu is better [12:05] damn right :) [12:07] nope - works there too ... [12:07] I tried ;) [12:08] heh [12:11] must be a pain to fix intermittent issues :) [12:15] they've been working hard in xfce-dev [12:15] there are actually a few non-related issues that cause similar crashes, so it's been a struggle [12:16] I've seen :) [12:52] yay, byobu is finally working again in xfce-terminal in vivid =) thank you whoever did it! [12:52] elfy, which version of xfpm is in the ppa? [12:54] eric_the_idiot: 1.4.4+git-0~1863~ubuntu15.04.1 [12:59] do you have a bracktrace of the crash(es) handy? I can take a look [13:00] bluesabre: Already did. [13:03] eric_the_idiot: all I've got is the files that apport creates - even though I can't do anything with them [13:03] http://paste.ubuntu.com/10700898/ [13:05] oh [13:05] basically - I reboot, it tells me it's crashed [13:05] everything appears to be ok though *shrug* [13:06] ok, I assume ochosi knows more about apport stuff then. We can wait for him :) [13:10] mmm - so after saying that, I tried the things I rarely do like suspend and lock :) [13:10] lock works, came out of suspend to a black screen [13:10] and I really hate saying that particularly === brainwash_ is now known as brainwash [16:03] hullo folks [16:03] elfy: yeah, we've had an upstream report about that as well, might be connected to the gdbus stuff (that i know next to nothing about) [16:06] elfy: specifically this one: https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11767 [16:06] bugzilla.xfce.org bug 11767 in General "Sleep Functionality (systemd) Issues" [Normal,New] [16:45] ochosi: ack - that sounds about right [19:35] Noskcaj, please nominate bug 1388009 for trusty [19:35] bug 1388009 in xfce4-screenshooter (Ubuntu) "The program is not translated" [Undecided,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1388009 [19:36] done [19:37] Never seems to help. :( [19:37] wow, thanks :) [23:40] Is there a non-convoluted method of repackaging a xubuntu-vivid-daily-build.iso to include some extra packages ? I wish to add the syslinux packages that Ubuntu-daily.iso has, so I can test whether usb-creator-gtk update works . [23:53] not really no [23:54] elfy: first result of the import test is done... gmb took ~25 minutes to import my library [23:57] Thanks ali123, I was afraid some-one was going to say that. I just spent the last day researching and none of the methods described work with daily.iso(s). Only work with official releases [23:58] btw knome, did you get to think about the issue you have with krytarik's MP? [23:58] not yet [23:59] was a busy day today [23:59] less busy tomorrow [23:59] ok
