[12:28] http://techweek.com/detroit/ [12:29] party [12:35] <_stink_> good morning [12:45] Morning and all that. :) [12:46] heh [12:46] cable guy here yay [12:46] * rick_h_ hates that line heh [12:47] Which line is that? [12:47] The one that goes to your house? [12:47] ;) [12:49] saying "yay" to the "cable guy" [12:50] Well, considering it's a modern miracle whenever they show up I'm sure the "yay" is warranted. [12:51] "Yay, something in our dystopian future is working as I expected and someone has made their way to my house to make my Internet better hopefully please God please" [15:18] brousch, huh, I wonder if that show is any good [15:24] jcastro: My "douche" filter didn't go completely off the scale when I read through the speakers. [17:31] cmaloney, did my email to mug get sent to /dev/null ? [17:31] or did I (quite posisbly) just miss a response. [17:31] ? [17:32] Ack [17:32] No, we're cool [17:32] I thought I'd left it as such [17:32] Everyone is exceptionally pleased you're talking [17:32] oh. ok. [17:32] Apologies for leaving you hanging [17:32] thats good then. [17:32] no worries [17:32] That's all my fault. :) [17:41] you talking cloud-init at mug? cloud-init is my favorite thing. [17:48] And I'm talking about emulators. :) [17:48] what is an emulator? [17:51] Stuff like Amiga emulators, Atari 800 emulators [17:51] Atari ST [17:51] old hardware [17:51] MAME [17:51] that sort of thing. [17:52] cmaloney: very cool. [18:00] Have any east siders heard of this? Apparently it's in Ann Arbor https://stratoscard.com/ [18:02] <_stink_> huh, neat idea [18:03] Apparently looking for Python devs [18:05] Very cool [18:24] huh, wonder if they're the reason we couldn't trademark the stratos name nationwide [20:02] why did stratos come up today? [20:03] brousch: did Henry email you directly? [20:03] Yeah, that's why I brought it up [20:03] brousch: ha! me too :) [20:03] I like to poke around these things before I reply [20:04] I've followed Henry on twitter for years. Seems like a solid guy. [20:04] Ha! Well if he thinks I'm a jrwren-caliber developer he's gonna have a bad time ;) [20:05] brousch: my wife says "You don't want to work for a wine drinker." [20:05] brousch: you are likely far beyond a jrwren-caliber dev :p [20:05] I still have not written a single test [20:07] Hey, wait, rick_h_ is a wine drinker! [20:08] brousch: WHAT?!?!?! [20:08] brousch: lets get on hangouts and write a test together RIGHT NOW [20:09] Well I wrote one with someone else, but not by myself [20:09] It was very interesting [20:09] brousch: were you driving? [20:09] No [20:09] brousch: so sad [20:10] I know [20:10] I'm actually rectifying it right now [20:11] I have 2 books to read, then I have 2 existing systems to add tests to [20:12] heh [20:12] I think jrwren sells himself short. [20:12] Part of it is that I've been working on kivy so long. Kivy apps are hard to test [20:12] Pretty sure he's developed three systems before the spoon hits the cereal bowl [20:28] brousch: since you are adding it to already written code, do you have Michael Feathers book? [20:38] I do not [20:48] OMG THE SUN IS OUT IN MI [21:16] is anybody here particularly familiar with meteor.js? [21:17] I have an acquaintance who thinks it's pretty neat [21:17] but with the frequency of new js frameworks, it's gotta be annoying to develop in them [21:37] meteor has been around for at least a couple of years. [21:37] uses a mongodb backend and does *magic* to let you write only JS and some runs on server via node and other runs in client and everything is magical and beautiful. [21:40] yup [21:40] it looks neat. [22:13] brousch: :P but he works for Uros, not me. So jrwren is safe [23:00] i got my problem worked out anways [23:00] was being dumb [23:01] the ldapjs library was getting in my way with its bad documentation
